Everyone that beats their partner should be shunned out the industry and swiftly thrown in jail. There is no place for it. For me - and I think this may be the case with other like minded people - the reason the Chris Brown incident struck such a chord is two-fold. For one, we saw the pictures of the beaten Rihanna. Secondly, it involved two very public figures that were and still are part of pop culture. It isn't that what Chris Brown did was worse than, say, what Charlie Sheen did, it's just it is more of an obvious focal point for hate and justified outrage.

I believe the message is 'we shouldn't let these abusive people off the hook and forget what they did' - and if that means retroactively giving Charlie Sheen even more shit for being batshit crazy, then I can live with that. I don't personally believe if he was white my reaction (or most other people's) would have been one iota different.
