Dude, who cares? A name is a name.

If it's really unique, it might be cool, but it might be annoying. If it's really common, it's probably nice, but probably old school religious.

My name is Andrew (pause for gasp). It's super common, has religious background. The annoyance, it's common, the positive, it's common. I never have to explain how to spell it.

Every name has a positive and a negative. But eventually the individual recognizes it as his/her identity, not it's supposed meaning. (Worst case scenario here, they change their name, oh noes....)

Seriously though, congratulations on the expectant child. Good luck with everything that follows, and have an amazing journey on this new life of yours!

Apparently the precursor of my name means 'God's peace', doesn't affect me and I find it a little funny.

Meh, just pick a name without looking at the stupid meanings. Seriously, only silly people worry about what they meant 1000 years ago in some ancient culture.

I don't think my name has much religious meaning.

I named my son Noah. It's funny because my fiances' family is pretty religious, and they asked if it was inspired by Noah of the bible. I say "No, we just like the name Noah." plus my fiance loves 'The Notebook'. She wouldn't let me name him Felix because it reminds her of the cat. Also welcome to parenthood, I'm 25 with an 8 month old and he is the best thing to has ever happened to me.

The name Jack is perfect I would think. Easy to spell, no religious background.
