False since there's no gravity or friction in space you will eventually run into a star
[–]milesdamascus 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago
False. The dogma never stipulates the length of time between initial shooting and landing
[–]tag23 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago
And that star is the sun so you will die a explosive death ...
[–]ReverendDexter 2 points3 points4 points 1 month ago
Yeah, that one always bugged me, too. Bitch, if I miss the moon, I'm floating out in space running out of food, water, and oxygen with little to no hope of getting my ass back to terra firma and a cheeseburger.
[–]Lukem1999 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago
You would pretty much end up dying from lack of oxygen. Even if you had enough oxygen to last you for that long, you would get completely vaporized by one of those stars due to its heat.
[–]Larry_G 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago
but still eventually.. probably hit a star
[–]NJDevils30 2 points3 points4 points 1 month ago
False. Technically you can argue that all of us are "among the stars" since there are stars around us. Noted they are extremely far away but we are still "among" them. Among the stars does not necessarily equate to close to stars.

If you miss the moon you will land "among the stars", it might be an actual star, it might be a planet, it might be a black hole, whatever, you will be among the stars
[–]Zerorion 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago
False, if you were to miss the moon, you'd keep going, because space is a vacuum and there's no gravity... I plead to Newton's first. Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it. Therefore, with no external force, you WOULD get to the stars. Unless you ran into something. That would be embarrassing.

False, The sun is a star.
[–]Th3DoughB0y 2 points3 points4 points 1 month ago
Well, yes, it is. But the sun is about 94 million miles away, so he's pretty accurate.
