Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

A little background, the owner of the SUV lives there and one night last week accidentally ran into the pole holding up the old, rusty advertisement sign. The insurance company (my assumption) paid them for the SUV (the SUV has a license plate that just says MAYHEM on it) and ad space and put this up.

Yea, but I am actually pretty sure that isn't the case. There is a sign here in Lake Charles with the exact same pink suv. I almost ran into a truck looking at it thinking it was a real accident. It wasn't until I noticed the "Mayhem" license plate that I realized I almost got into an accident in my car looking at a car insurance ad.

The thing is... when I took the picture there was a crew there with a lift and a bunch of orange cones set up. I originally thought it was truly the most ironic thing I'd ever seen until I got home and enlarged the picture to see the license plate. I thought the crew was cleaning up a mess rather than setting it up. I'd been had.

Driving through Michigan earlier this week I saw a billboard for a Titanic museum (why in Michigan I don't know) and the billboard was tipped so the nose of the boat was tipped down.

About a half hour later I saw the same billboard but framed correctly, I kept wondering if the first was on purpose or just a happy accident.

Something similar happened a few years ago in front of our house.

During that time the national organization of flower retailers ran a campaign with the slogan: "Dat verdient een bloemetje." (Dutch for: "That deserves flowers.")

While that campaign was running a truck with the slogan on it's sides stopped at the intersection in front of our house. The car behind it didn't keep enough distance and hit the truck.

We had a auto body shop here in Austin that used to have something similar. They had a wooden fence at the front of the property with their sign on it and a big hole in it. They would leave one of the busted up cars waiting to be worked on parked in the hole so it always looked like an accident scene. Even after seeing it hundreds of times, it always got your attention.
