Yahweh, Jehovah Allah, and God are the same deity.

God as a name is subjective. If a Christian says "Praise God!" they're most likely referring to Jehovah/Yahweh. If a follower of a different religion says the same phrase, the term "God" would be in reference to their diety. The word itself has an etymological root in ancient Germanic where the word was primarily used amongst the pagans.

Well, Yahweh is a God in another religion (I can never seem to remember which). The name Yahweh was taken from this ancient religion.

While the latter three refer to the same supernatural being, they are incredible different conceptions of its nature. First of all, the God-as-trinity in Christianity is hardly the same as the singular God in Judaism. Similarly, their notions of God's disposition is certainly very different. Although they start in the same place and refer to the same entity, they certainly do not encapsulate one essence.

Yahweh is the name of the name of the god of the Israelites. Y'know, Jews. Before concocting one singular god, the Israelites were polytheists. The name of the chief god was El, hence the name Isra-El. There were a couple other gods that got combined into one god to make Yahweh.

My 100% favorite /r/atheism image is one that was posted a few weeks back which I can't find. It's basically two parents with books for heads, with eyeballs sticking out the side. I believe there's a cross or possibly the words "holy bible" on the front. One of them is holding a young man by the shoulders and the other has an open book near his head. In the image, he has a normal human head/face.

I wish I could find the image and also the source of it. I love it so much I have considered getting a tattoo of it. Hopefully one of you knows which one I'm talking about and can help...

There's a slight problem with this logic. A theist rejects other gods because he's told to. An atheist does the same for logical reasons.

Not necessarily. An atheist could reject them all from doubt, which isn't always based in logic. Theists also reject other gods based on what they see as a completely thought out understanding of the world (I don't agree with their conclusions, but oh well).

If a theist could understand why it is that their religion rejects other gods, which would then be the reason that they do, then they could understand why we reject all gods.
