I grew up on an alpaca farm, and this is completely untrue. Unless you get between two alpha males having it out, you will not get bitten or even spit on. My parents let us walk around with dozens of them when we were 8.

I've lived on an alpaca farm since I was 2, I've only been spit on once. Alpacas make great pets, don't eat much and are easy to clean up after.

I suppose not, I guess they just want to use the fourth wall because other shows have had success doing it. But most of those other shows at least make an attempt to explain it. My favorite part of the US Office was when Michael Scott was leaving the show for good and says to the camera man: "Hey, will you guys let me know if this ever airs?"

But they don't acknowledge the camera any time besides the interview right? (Correct me if I'm wrong) In the Office and many other documentary type shows they acknowledge the camera man and even interact with them. All they do in MF is speak to the camera in the interviews, which leads us to believe that is the only time they are being filmed. The Office (UK) always announced they were filming for something and in the reunion episode acknowledged that the boss was a pseudo-star from it. I think they are just using the documentary style because it's popular and a new gimmick...missing or skipping the reasons and point of why other shows have used it in the past.

They occasionally look into the camera when something embarrassing happens. But the point of documentaries is to observe, not interact while things are happening.

And aside from the interviews, I can't remember the Office ever acknowledging the cameras either.

The camera man has been involved in many episodes of the office. They often look at him when they say things and they acknowledge them and even they them to run or turn the camera off. There was an episode where Jim was hiding in the car and he yells at the camera man to get down. It probably happens about once an episode.

It's not evasion, as "tax evasion" is illegal and is the act of essentially hiding/misrepresenting your finances that are reported to the taxman.

This is a writeoff/deduction, and it's a lot more complicated and expensive than simply buying an Alpaca.

Purely depends on the type of production as well as the specific producer. Sometimes they can be a very important quality control for a project, other times it can just be a credit given to someone loosely tied to the project.
