I'm still trying to figure out what he was trying to accomplish. Was he planning on jumping the boat with his Jet ski, or jumping off the jet ski over the boat. Or is it simply that he meant to go around it, fixated on the target, and lost his shit?

I should stop trying to rationalize the internet.

i could be wrong but it looks like his steering went out. not sure if this is even likely on a wave runner, but it seems like he's trying to cut to the right then gives up and tries to jump.

This is the problem. People panic and treat is like a car or bike and try and turn with no throttle. There isn't a rudder. The jet's push you forward and turn you.
