Just follow the path.

[–]eenieboy[S] 136 points137 points ago

I did. I'm still lost.

[–]Cozmo23 109 points110 points ago

You took the wrong one.

[–]eenieboy[S] 115 points116 points ago

There was only one. There was only path.

[–]icecoldbabes 74 points75 points ago

NO, not that 'path'. The other 'path'...

[–]AiKantSpel 68 points69 points ago

and that's the last we heard of OP

[–]cunt_stamp 58 points59 points ago

Never forget.

[–]Seven_Sins_Lust 19 points20 points ago

The road to hell is pathed with good intentions.

[–]a424d5760ab83a7b1a0e 11 points12 points ago

OP will not deliver, but it's not his fault.

[–]InkKnight 11 points12 points ago

If they were smart they'd use a compass app, instead, using reddit

[–]ahampster 10 points11 points ago

Grenade in microwave anyone?

[–]rebootyourbrainstem 18 points19 points ago

the path less traveled.

[–]MrRyyi 17 points18 points ago

Walking through bushes increases the chances of finding a pokemon.

[–]djcrayon 14 points15 points ago

Also, ticks.

[–]HonestAshhole 5 points6 points ago

I hate ticks. I would like to say that if a tick was big enough for me to punch it in the face that I would, but the truth is, I'd probably scream, pass out from fright and be eaten exsanguinated.

[–]thetampafan9 1 point2 points ago

speaking of ticks, my friend got a tick on his dick sucked for the corpsman that had to pull it off using a magnifying glass. then i got a tick in my armpit. it was totally disgusting

[–]zBaer 1 point2 points ago

And chafing.

[–]12sea21 1 point2 points ago

Also velociraptors.

[–]-AJ- 5 points6 points ago

All you had to do was follow the damn path, CJ.

[–]GodExists_DebateMe 1 point2 points ago

Maybe the door to the other path only opens if you speak friend in the tongue of the elves?

[–]Dustcrow 2 points3 points ago

So, does god exist?

[–]zulhadm 1 point2 points ago

I think you are a pathological liar

[–]Random_Fandom 4 points5 points ago

Sorry, that was pathetic.

[–]BigMchugeLarge 2 points3 points ago

I may be cheesy, but at least I'm not a sociopath

[–]GeneralWarts 338 points339 points ago

I think you are supposed to choose the one that looks less traveled.

[–]Breathing_Balls 105 points106 points ago

Just don't follow the one with breadcrumbs on the ground. That's a sure indication that some poor sod is also lost.

[–]sweetgreggo 54 points55 points ago

That's the way to the witch's house!

[–]simonjp 51 points52 points ago

...but what if it's the way back from the witch's house?

[–]sweetgreggo 85 points86 points ago

Depends on which way the crumbs are facing.

[–]islesrule224 26 points27 points ago

They are going that way

[–]JewBoySandler 6 points7 points ago

That, or you're on the trail of the dangerous bread-smuggling gang!

[–]devilinblue22 9 points10 points ago

I have heard of them, I think there're called the yeast collection.

[–]TheKeggles 10 points11 points ago

I believe their calling card is baguette and tag it

[–]CaringIsCreepy- 17 points18 points ago

Look at you GeneralWarts, getting all poetic and shit.

[–]GeneralWarts 1 point2 points ago

Haha! I have my moments.

[–]RobertStack 11 points12 points ago

Bad idea. I went floating down the river last weekend and the river forked so I took the path everyone else didn't take. Guess who had their tube ripped open, your hint is it wasn't everyone else. I learned the road is less traveled for a reason.

[–]Silversol99 32 points33 points ago

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Frost -1920

[–]blore40 20 points21 points ago

The ones less travelled are good for relieving yourself.

[–]acrousey 1 point2 points ago

Is this the one less traveled? I really have to go.

[–]blore40 1 point2 points ago

Yeah. Just don't pee on any snakes.

[–]Captainseige 7 points8 points ago

I've always thought that the poem encouraging going on the less traveled path is a misconception. He never states that the difference was a positive one it could've been bad. All we know is it made a difference.

[–]VodkaGimlet 4 points5 points ago

I've always thought it was about romanticizing the past. When the decision is recent, he admits the two choices were really roughly equal. But thinking of how he'll tell the story in the future, he knows he'll make up some B.S. about he chose the road he did because it was "less traveled," and how it was such a good choice for him and all that.

[–]Ftumsh 1 point2 points ago

I agree with this. And I've also thought that he's subtly - and wittily - saying that both paths are pretty much exactly the same:

the passing there

Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay

And thus though he says he's taken the road less traveled, in fact he couldn't tell one from the other. It was purely a random decision.

[–]inflammable 5 points6 points ago

thatsthejoke.jpeg

[–]glaux 1 point2 points ago

Thatsthesource.gif

FTFY.

[–]xhupsahoy 2 points3 points ago

Most people misunderstand this poem. It's not about taking your own path in life, it's about being a lying old man.

He specifically points out that both paths were equally worn, but finishes with predicting that when he's old he'll boast of how he took a more difficult path.

It's actually a quite depressing poem, and it always makes me wince when people read it at events as inspirational.

[–]StewieBanana 6 points7 points ago

That only applies to roads.

[–]angrymole 2 points3 points ago

"Knowing how way leads on to way" it is doubtful he "should ever come back"

[–]hngryhngryhippo 2 points3 points ago

If lost, perhaps the one most traveled is more relevant. Not so poetic.

[–]Rapier_and_Pwnard 1 point2 points ago

Everyone's lost, in one way or another. Maybe the road less traveled is the only way to find yourself.

[–]zoodiary8 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, me too..

[–]s0undwave 1 point2 points ago

It will make all the difference.

[–]aceoftrachs 1 point2 points ago

Instead they opted to take the path of least assistance.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Maybe the sign is accurate and the path is just a figure eight?

[–]otteryou 1 point2 points ago

Frost isn't suggesting that you take the path less travelled by. He is simply stating that it made the difference. Would you rather a difference? Then take that path.

[–]Ilerea_Kleinokitz 71 points72 points ago

Someone should do this. They should go somewhere and take a picture and have Reddit tell the actions for them.

[–]Tickle-Monster 41 points42 points ago

It would probably be the first time Reddit directly killed someone.

[–]islesrule224 1 point2 points ago

Would make for another good Anderson Cooper show.

Absolutely! AMA Lost in Jungle

[–]linkseyi 1 point2 points ago

You are a lost in jungle?

[–]Cows_with_Guns 45 points46 points ago

To find one's way along the path of enlightenment, one must first find himself, young grasshopper.

[–]SuperWolf 25 points26 points ago

That was easy.

[–]CaptainNoBoat 27 points28 points ago

"Why, I'm right here!"

[–]wonderskippy 1 point2 points ago

In all seriousness, isn't looking for yourself kind of like looking for your car keys when they are in your hand the whole time?

[–]Cows_with_Guns 1 point2 points ago

I'd agree with that. Looking for your car keys when they are in you hand the entire time is something so stupid and we look back on it and laugh at its simplicity but during those 5 - 10 minutes when we don't know where the hell those stupid car keys are, they may as well be hidden under some piece of furniture.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

I am on the intersection of a path and a path

[–]atcaskstrength 23 points24 points ago

All paths lead to the same place if you follow them long enough.

Yeah, death.

[–]Gambit1022 28 points29 points ago

[–]wonderskippy 1 point2 points ago

[–]MyPunsSuck 1 point2 points ago

[–]mattc286 10 points11 points ago

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

[–]SleepsontheGround 12 points13 points ago

Do not try to choose your true path, instead, let your true path choose you.

[–]Deacon 14 points15 points ago

In Soviet Russia, path chooses you.

[–]SuperWolf 1 point2 points ago

[–]TheSemiTallest 4 points5 points ago

Path. Follow path.

Gate. Open gate, through, gate, close gate.

Last ferry six thirty, so run run run.

[–]HamburgerMonkeyPants 8 points9 points ago

Some people do go bothways

[–]Greatbonsai 11 points12 points ago

Clearly the decision is yours. Your whole life is ahead of you. Just pick a path to follow and see where you end up.

[–]icecoldbabes 5 points6 points ago

You either enter the matrix or go back to your job as a computer hacker...

[–]Buried_Sleeper 6 points7 points ago

This looks like it's in the UK.

[–]dontneedyourkarma 4 points5 points ago

The sky looks really awesome in this picture

[–]Tanagashi 4 points5 points ago

Ow. I've been hiking in UK a month ago and signs there are even less informative. We managed to wind up 10 km away from the intended destination by following them.

[–]timpar20 4 points5 points ago

I guess you were not looking for the path

[–]IDlOT 3 points4 points ago

I will solve this great mystery. Grant me ten years.

Leave me now.

[–]reasonedscience 3 points4 points ago

Earlier this summer, I went on a nature path through a preserved prairie. The path was made clear via the mowed grass that made various paths. The closer to the end of the path I got, the more forks I passed by, forking behind me. Once I got to the end, and it was time to walk back, there were no notes on which path goes where, so I stuck to my rule of always going right (Thanks 2D platform games). Each path made concentric arcs around a central point, and looped around, so the background looked really familiar often. After almost an hour of walking, I finally saw my car, and made it out safely. The guy who made that path must have thought he was hilarious.

[–]andrewsmith1986 17 points18 points ago

If you find yourself lost in the woods, fuck it, build a house. "Well, I was lost but now I live here! I have severely improved my predicament!"

[–]andrewsmith1986 1 point2 points ago

Because you've been on reddit long enough.

[–]Faustin 2 points3 points ago

Obviously you should've taken the one that says path.

[–]RubberPsyduck 2 points3 points ago

[–]TeBags 1 point2 points ago

[–]CBlakephoto 1 point2 points ago

Sounded like this in my head.

[–]jast_flie 1 point2 points ago

you shall not "path".

[–]wheresmyhouse 1 point2 points ago

Maybe it's the same path, and it goes in a figure 8.

[–]Aerdirnaithon 1 point2 points ago

"With a little path running between them." "Yes, a path, a path!"

[–]djexploit 1 point2 points ago

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

--Robert Frost

[–]drewmeister 1 point2 points ago

Oh, I've been there. Are you at the corner of Path and Path in Town?

[–]KidAstronaut 1 point2 points ago

When you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

[–]RemyBuB 1 point2 points ago

It took me awhile to but its simple once you figure it out.

To get through the Lost Woods walk up one screen, left one screen, down one screen and left one screen.

Just a heads up... You're going to run into a graveyard soon it will be tough, but worth it.

[–]Preblegorillaman 1 point2 points ago

I'd take path A... wait. Shit. Dude it's hopeless.

[–]Spartan2842 1 point2 points ago

Don't you have a GPS on your phone?

[–]typesPOOP 1 point2 points ago

4 paths don't make a right. So go left.

[–]Neocrasher 1 point2 points ago

All roads lead to Rome, you'll be fine.

[–]SilverTorch 1 point2 points ago

I'm not arguing that this might be funny to some people, but posts like these are why I'm getting tired of reddit. "Here's a picture of something that is slightly odd and I'll add a title that makes it funny."

[–]BooooooooooM 1 point2 points ago

Of course it didnt! It's photoshopped!

[–]firechao 1 point2 points ago

These signs are surprisingly common in English National Parks. As far as I remember you can wander for a long time with just the occasional sign by the side of your path telling you that straight ahead is "path" and it's "path" where you came from.

I mean, I partially understand but it does sort of seem like the meaningfulness of a road sign has been lost.

[–]tikcuf12 1 point2 points ago

How could you be lost? Just follow the path.

[–]divinesleeper 1 point2 points ago

So instead of sending for help you decided to use your last shred of battery power to post this on reddit.

Like a true redditor!

[–]Harder_than_it_looks 1 point2 points ago

[–]tomroberts101 1 point2 points ago

Path-illogical!

[–]zero_iq 1 point2 points ago

Hey, I know that sign! I pass by this when I walk along the path from Path (where I live) to my workplace in Path. I remember I was late on my first day, because I followed the sign to Path by mistake. What a fool! I'm a pathetic pathfinder at the best of times.

Sometimes I take the alternative footpath through Path, though, just for the scenery. It helps clear my mind after a hard day's work studying pathogens at the pathology lab.

None of this is true; I'm a pathological liar. I knew you wouldn't believe me. (I'm a telepath.)

TL;DR: path path path path

EDIT: path

[–]Iceman1832 1 point2 points ago

I can just picture an old man putting this post up "Oh, the people will be so confused!" In old man voice and laughing. Some man just want to watch the world burn.

[–]kabomlamma 0 points1 point ago

you are obviously in the matrix. now you just have to figure out if you are relative or absolute

[–]milkomeda 0 points1 point ago

Path tactics!

[–]Deacon 0 points1 point ago

Gee, wilderness, thanks for clearing that up for me.

[–]korytyler21 0 points1 point ago

[–]sweetgreggo 0 points1 point ago

[–]ChiBulls 0 points1 point ago

Use Google maps! They have hiking trails as well. It's really cool

[–]2badYourAssGotSacked 0 points1 point ago

And then he realized the path was a figure 8

[–]HiImTed 0 points1 point ago

it's so when the forest grows over the path in the spring, you know which general direction it's going.

[–]aboxofcrayons 0 points1 point ago

[–]sladoid 0 points1 point ago

The only thing that could be worse would be a sign that points everywhere and says "Forge your own path"

[–]havestronaut 0 points1 point ago

You're quite a pathfinder.

[–]e_x_i_t 0 points1 point ago

That sign is something that would be in a poorly written MUDD.

[–]idonthaveonesorry 0 points1 point ago
