Good job dude, now you can go ahead and start on doing the exact same thing on The Binding of Issac.

[–]KJAZZ 74 points75 points ago

I'd argue Isaac is easier to 100% due to the luck factor.

[–]Kahuna28 28 points29 points ago

You still need to beat the full game with every character, which is not an easy task. Platinum God requires you to beat a different final level with each character, so that's even harder!

[–]Quazifuji 8 points9 points ago

Was Platinum God added in a patch? I don't remember there being different final levels for each character.

So I'm not sure about that, but at least with just Sheol, getting 100% on Binding of Isaac is still much, much easier. Even beating Sheol with ??? is a piece of cake compared to Super Meat Boy's tougher bandages and levels, and Binding of Isaac's hardest acheivements (beating each area without getting hit) are still probably much easier than Meat Boy's achievements for beating each world without dying.

[–]swuboo 4 points5 points ago

There's an expansion now.

[–]Shadax 4 points5 points ago

This does not extinguish the luck factor.

[–]Kahuna28 5 points6 points ago

Luck does play a part, and some runs can be alot easier than others, but you still need to learn the enemies/boss attack patterns, aswell as what each item does. I still think meatboy is alot harder, but Isaac is still a really hard game.

[–]begentlewithme[S] 19 points20 points ago

Later. For now, I need to cool my rage meter. I think I'll try Terraria or Psychonauts next.

[–]iFlorentino 10 points11 points ago

Play Braid. No rage at all...

[–]ZombieLloyd 1 point2 points ago

If my brother recorded his playing of that game, I could prove you wrong

[–]Gary_the_Goatfucker 17 points18 points ago

Wait, you don't "cool off" with Terraria; that shit is a rage farming hellhole of fun.

[–]begentlewithme[S] 12 points13 points ago

Wait, really? Because it looked rather relaxing. Cut some trees, build a house, go exploring a cave, fight zombies. I dunno, I can only think of a select few things in the world that can make me rage as hard as I did with SMB.

[–]Quof 12 points13 points ago

It's actually pretty relaxing. The difficult parts he describe take place later in the game, and aren't actually that hard with a bit of planning.

[–]defaultconstructor 1 point2 points ago

I think the underground jungle and hell are two areas that are pretty much ragefuel.

[–]pbowling808 1 point2 points ago

Terraria is quite relaxing as long as you STAY AWAY FROM THE JUNGLE. Bad things happen there.

[–]Ravek 1 point2 points ago

Play Limbo if you want to relax.

[–]HighwireAct 59 points60 points ago

It looks like a severely blemished clown with a turtleneck and a smiley face for a hat.

[–]helikestrains 5 points6 points ago

Can never unsee.

[–]upsyndromeZ 2 points3 points ago

Sigh.

[–]Xenxe 1 point2 points ago

girl look at that body.

[–]Guardian_Of_Pigs 1 point2 points ago

I don't know why I looked . . .

[–]Garamor 10 points11 points ago

I was one damn item away from getting golden god, and no matter how many times I played that game, it never showed up.

I have 65 hours played on that game, and a good 20 of them were just spamming through the levels, hopefully getting the item I needed.

[–]PKPhyre 16 points17 points ago

I hate to break it to you, but now there's a platinum god achievement. And its 100x harder to get.

[–]Ravelair 1 point2 points ago

Any good tips to prevent myself from dying constantly?

[–]eats_shit_and_dies 1 point2 points ago

ball a pair of growths

[–]Ravelair 2 points3 points ago

Usually this would make no sense but when talking about this game... It does.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Binding of Issac is not much alike Super Meat Boy. Is there another game like Super Meat Boy (carpal tunnel inducing, keyboard breaking, frustrating game)

[–]noooodles 17 points18 points ago

I've never personally played it, but I wanna be the guy looks quite rage inducing.

[–]soldieroflight 11 points12 points ago

Two of my greatest achievements in life.

[–]mooglehuffer 2 points3 points ago

You are now tagged as "Platforming GOD"

[–]Quazifuji 9 points10 points ago

I Wanna Be The Guy requires a similar level of skill, but it's also deliberately designed to be as unfair as possible, with tons of cheap deaths that you couldn't possibly have seen coming the first time. They can be pretty hilarious, but also really frustrating.

[–]SuSp3cT333 3 points4 points ago

that game will make every gamer rage... no exceptions

[–]fluffygoomba 1 point2 points ago

also I Wanna Be the Boshy

[–]Degn101 1 point2 points ago

This! :D I like it a bit better, the bosses are not as easy as the IWBTG ones. It is so amazingly difficult though. Expect to rage with this game!

[–]uberhellie 5 points6 points ago

Most of it isn't as frustrating, but VVVVVV is an excellent game and does have some fiendishly difficult parts (eg the Veni, Vidi, Vici trinket challenge). Mighty Jill Off (which also gets mentioned in SMB) is also fairly challenging, but not IWBTG levels of stupidly challenging.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

I played VVVVVV, it was a wonderful game. It seems to me SMB found the perfect balance and made it way more entertaining than the rest of the "jumping" platformers.

[–]sevard 54 points55 points ago

Show us your fingers

[–]begentlewithme[S] 27 points28 points ago

lol my fingers are just fine, a bit sore though. I think using a keyboard helped, I can imagine my thumbs being non-existent if I used a controller.

[–]NerdyMcNerderson 26 points27 points ago

I guess everyone is different but I personally am finding SMB much easier with a PS3 controller than with the keyboard.

[–]hysro 3 points4 points ago

Agreed. One of the few games for PC that I plugged a gaming controller in for.

[–]AshsToAshs 9 points10 points ago

You did this with a fucking keyboard?!?!?! You're amazing!

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points ago

It's probably easier with a keyboard despite what the developers say

[–]Butterbemme 3 points4 points ago

Didn't you read the subtle message when you start the game!

First one who says keyboard is better gets shot IN THE FUCKING FACE.

[–]imahotdoglol 1 point2 points ago

they're gone.

[–]begentlewithme[S] 84 points85 points ago

Blood, sweat, and tears. And lots of pulled hair. But I finally fucking beat this game. The Kid level? Done. Dark world Cotten Alley? DONE.

[–]Drunkturtle 44 points45 points ago

Man The Kid level is cake compared to the bullshit of those multiplying dark monster cannon things. At least The Kid level makes sense. You can't predict fuck with those dark cannons.

[–]picklesthecat 26 points27 points ago

Seriously unlocking the Kid was about as difficult as I could do. When it started to get to stupidly difficult dark levels I just gave up.

I did enjoy the game a lot, but I have a reasonable level for masochism where it's just not worth it.

[–]Armonster 5 points6 points ago

really? Here I was thinking the Kid level was HARDER than all the other levels.

(Also 100%'er, here)

[–]okaylogarithm 1 point2 points ago

Really? Last time I did the Kid levels I did 'em in 8 minutes, but I spent over half an hour on some of the dark world Rapture levels. Amazing how different people find different levels the hardest.

[–]vplatt 7 points8 points ago

I feel ya bro. I feel ya.

[–]piningforthefjords 5 points6 points ago

wait.......there are levels harder than the kid level?

[–]chewbacca77 4 points5 points ago

I played the entire game, too.. and in my opinion, the Kid levels were by far the hardest.

[–]Colsta 4 points5 points ago

I Wanna Be The Guy. Play it now!

[–]Heimdall2061 1 point2 points ago

You monster!

[–]Obladesque 15 points16 points ago

Not to downplay your achievements or anything, certainly what you did is very difficult, but do you (and anyone else here who seems to love Super Meat Boy and feels like responding) actually enjoy the game when doing this, and like the direction that platformers like this are taking?

I played the game for quite a bit, and there were a couple things that really bothered me about it. First off, it didn't seem difficult for much of any reason besides the physics just felt wrong. Sure, you can make platformers difficult by just making the character hard as nails to control, but is that really the right way to go about doing it?

Second, it's stupidly fast such that you will often just run right into shit off the screen and die multiple times before you know to jump at the exact spot that is so unobvious that the thing trying to kill you isn't even on screen yet.

Maybe i'm just jaded, but personally I don't think those things make the game fun at all. Difficult, yes, but not fun. I just don't quite understand the attitude a lot of people here seem to have towards this game. All I ever see about it on this subreddit is how incredibly difficult it is, and oh my god it's so hard, etc. Just because a game is hard doesn't mean it's well designed.

Feel free to give me arguments, why I'm wrong, etc. Just would love to hear your thoughts.

[–]begentlewithme[S] 38 points39 points ago

It's true, this game relies a lot on rote memorization, muscle memory for your fingers, and heavy emphasis on micro-timing where milliseconds can make the difference. I've come damn near close to crying because I got to the end of a very difficult level and died.

But did I enjoy the game? Absolutely. Reasons may vary obviously, but here's why I enjoyed the game.

The controls are fantastic. Team Meat did an amazing job getting the controls just perfect for this game. When I die, I know it's because it was my fault, not because of game design. There's a very satisfying feeling just barely clinging onto a wall and to jump through a tiny gap in between two saws. I've played games where frustrating moments happen because of poor control. Not the case for Super Meat Boy. And when I finally do complete a level, I really feel accomplished, especially seeing all of my previous attempts come to fruition. I could actually FEEL my skills improving just by watching all my attempts.

Every world is fresh. I'm never bored with doing the same thing over and over again. The levels never feel monotonous. There's new elements like salt, portals, eye lasers, etc. to keep things fresh. And when I do get sick of playing a particular level because of its difficulty, there's always the challenge of getting bandages and new characters. Personally, I loved playing around with each characters mechanics. Yes, even tofu boy.

And then there's the small things like funny cut scenes that do a great job of giving characterization without speech and fantastic music. I loved the music for this game.

Honestly, the ONLY thing that I can say I truly hated about this game were the force fields in The Rapture. Those things are fucking gimmicky as shit and does NOT rely on skills. Pure luck.

[–]jaxcap 6 points7 points ago

I'm glad to hear someone say those force fields were luck after all. I could never figure out how they worked.

[–]chewbacca77 2 points3 points ago

You guys are referring to the reverse-gravity wells? They just require much higher precision to get the jumps right. Very difficult, but certainly not luck.

[–]jaxcap 1 point2 points ago

Have any tips for getting the max "push" you can get from those things? What I thought was that getting closer to the center would push you away farther, but it never seems to work out for me.

[–]GovernorMcDandy 2 points3 points ago

When you enter the field, you don't want to enter it from a high altitude. In other words, you don't want a lot of downwards momentum when approaching the center, or else you will just fall right through. You want to enter them at an angle to greatly reduce your risk of falling through.

To get maximum "push", you want to get as close to the center as possible before it pushes you back up.

[–]chewbacca77 2 points3 points ago

The way they always worked best for me was when I approached in a different direction than I left. That way, your incoming momentum isn't lost, and you get extra momentum from the well. For example, if you need to leave from the top, try to approach from the left and aim for just above the center. This is all very situational of course... most of the time, you don't have an option.

[–]okaylogarithm 1 point2 points ago

I have to agree, the controls are some of the best in any game I've played. There's no doubt that when you die it's your own fault and not because of the controls. And no other game gives the same sense of fulfillment after finally completing a level! Although I think I may hate the Maws even more than the force fields... Even so, congrats on the Golden God! I know the pain it takes to acquire...

[–]Agasti 9 points10 points ago

You need to let go of the SHIFT button.

[–]Pyryara 5 points6 points ago

You play that game with a KEYBOARD? Didn't you read the disclaimers at the start? :D

[–]GrandmasterSexay 7 points8 points ago

FUCK DA ROOLZ. I 100%'d it with the keyboard and never looked back. My hands still haven't forgiven me though.

[–]Pyryara 2 points3 points ago

I salute you.

[–]mothrider 2 points3 points ago

I think I let go of the shift button maybe for one jump in the entire game. It's a lot easier to just remember the physics for sprinting than switching between the two all the time.

[–]Agasti 2 points3 points ago

I know. I played also through it 95% with the shift key. But later in the game in the more difficult part I was stuck so much in some places and I found out later that with no speed those obstacles would become much less challenging. To each his own.

[–]I_Eat_My_Own_Feces 2 points3 points ago

To me the controls are the best part of the game. Without excellent controls, I never would have played it through. I feel the total opposite as you do: I feel the controls are very tight, very precise, and not cheap at all. If you input commands well, you're rewarded by how seamlessly the movement responds. This is what I loved about the game.

I don't think the difficulty is necessarily directly responsible for how good the game is, I just think the game is good, while also being hard. The difficulty just adds another dimension to the gameplay, requiring it be executed perfectly.

If you got good at the game to the point of liking the controls, you'd probably like the game. It's a damn fine game.

[–]Endraxial 1 point2 points ago

I saw it as a challenge, and it was never not fun because I knew I could do it if I kept trying and would be rewarded with silly humor and a sense of accomplishment. It wasn't like a tedious task like finding 100 hidden items throughout a huge map. It was overcoming obstacles, learning timing, and mastering the physics that made it enjoyable.

Yes, it was anger-inducing, but every time I finally bypassed what was keeping me down I felt really great about myself, and I wanted more of that feeling. It drove me to continue on, and eventually I found myself in a position to where I could not quit because I knew I could do it, especially where the majority of others have failed.

If I have a knack for something, I don't give up. and I seemed to have a knack for Super Meat Boy.

Should be noted I'm not really one to 100% things, usually because one of the tasks are incredibly tedious and unrewarding. But if I feel that I can do it and have fun I'll take a shot at it.

[–]fisheric 1 point2 points ago

I thought the controls were very responsive. You can easily make meat boy jump across the screen with accuracy.

About the physics I guess that is different for everyone. I thought the physics were very reminicent of mario.

[–]ingrum 1 point2 points ago

Game balance was ok, level design, traps, trap placement was at level of fucking hard platformer, game was well designed by me, added a lot of "history" to indie gaming for me. If you get past "hell", you easily get used to controls

The game itself is good as hell, and it's not about fun at some point. If you get 100% at super meat boy, this means that you are serious shit.

[–]Shippoyasha 1 point2 points ago

Same story here. I even managed to cramp up my thumbs and bloody my fingers by jamming the controller too hard several times.

The Kid levels were absolutely infuriating. The only way I passed those levels was in a morose, defeated state where I just let fate and instincts guide me. It was one of the most surreal experiences ever. Cotton Alley was actually very fun in comparison. Because running full speed ahead suicidally usually worked in Cotton Alley.

[–]Tadawk 26 points27 points ago

Now do it on console. With a Madcatz controller.

[–]Rubin0 13 points14 points ago

Who would dare submit themselves to such torture!

[–]SmartTowelRG400 8 points9 points ago

Easy. Just lemme get high.

[–]DRxCarbine 1 point2 points ago

Madcatz special rumble XXtra grip edition?

[–]Vexin 3 points4 points ago

Hold my beer.

[–]Spazasaurus 16 points17 points ago

Next stop: the ___ Boy Achievements!

Also, just wanted to say that getting 100% in Super Meat Boy (Xbox version), along with Dustforce, were some of the most satisfying moments in gaming for me.

[–]Sriad 8 points9 points ago

[–]NBAallstar 3 points4 points ago

God that made me so nervous.

The flashbacks

[–]firepelt 1 point2 points ago

Dammit Dustforce, I hate you so much, yet I love you so much. For some reason I cannot for the life of me get SS Observatory.

[–]Oslayer 13 points14 points ago

I cant get past the salt factory, light. You are a hero, sir.

[–]im4potato 22 points23 points ago

I've gotten all 106% as well, this game is fucking brutal. When I beat it I wanted to go around telling everyone what I had accomplished, but nobody can understand unless they have been through this (amazing) hell.

Anyone who has completed this game in its entirety has my respect, they don't make games this hard anymore.

[–]xxx_blade_smokah_xxx 18 points19 points ago

they don't make games this hard anymore.

this game came out like 3 years ago.......

[–]maniamania 1 point2 points ago

Less than 2 years ago

[–]barelas 3 points4 points ago

[–]im4potato 1 point2 points ago

I downloaded it and started playing through, so far it seems way harder than SMB, but I'm not sure if it's harder in a good way. A lot of it seems like trial and error where you progress slightly further than last time only to have some random thing fall out of the sky and kill you. With SMB I always felt that the next threat was pretty easily understood. Doesn't seem like it's got quite the appeal that SMB did, but I might have to dedicate some time to this :D

[–]Karmatastic 1 point2 points ago

I know exactly how you feel, some weeks ago I completed my last achievement and I told the world (online friends), the world didn't care.

[–]blackbird2379 14 points15 points ago

Jeez, I didn't realize that this was possible...

[–]Rantingbeerjello 12 points13 points ago

Same. I was always told the only way to win SMB was to uninstall the game.

[–]MrIste 4 points5 points ago

(Sort of relevant)

Does anyone know how to get an Xbox or PS3 gamepad to work with PC? I really don't like playing Super Meat Boy with my keyboard. It just feels awkward.

[–]eulers_oilers 10 points11 points ago

To use my PS3 controller, I plug it in and then use DS3 Tool to connect it.

http://www.motioninjoy.com/

[–]bultonic 6 points7 points ago

Xbox corded controller just plugs right in to most games.

[–]AshranPewter 3 points4 points ago

xbox 360 controllers that are wired use usb same with ps3 gamepads, so they should work automatically, the wireless ones have a bit more of an issue. You need to buy a wireless station for an xbox controller, its an oval shapped thing, make sure you get an official one and not the third party one though. I recommend just getting a wired 360 controller out of all of them because its just plug and play.

[–]meatwad75892 3 points4 points ago

Xbox 360 controllers plug and play with a PC, and the game will auto select and map it. So, literally plug one in and you're set. Unless you're on XP or a Mac, then there's some additional setup...

[–]SonOfHylia 2 points3 points ago

I'm pretty sure you can just buy an adapter online. Edit: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000HZFCT2

[–]MrIste 1 point2 points ago

Wow, I can buy one of those adapters for more than it costs to just buy SMB on the Xbox.

[–]hazmat_suit_guy 2 points3 points ago

Make sure you buy the officially branded product. There are a lot of the wireless adapters that are fake clones and made very cheaply, look practically identical as well. They end up breaking/stop working in about 3 months.

[–]MrIste 2 points3 points ago

Yeah... I'm just gonna spend the money for SMB on Xbox.

[–]Sciar 2 points3 points ago

You can download software that makes your ps3 controllers function as whatever a gamepad or an xbox 360 controller.

Type your same question into google to find a slew of answers.

http://www.gamefront.com/how-to-use-a-ps3-controller-on-a-pc/

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points ago

The game warns you not to even bother with the keyboard, remember "controllers arent required but neither is bathing, think about it"

[–]begentlewithme[S] 6 points7 points ago

I thought that was just a lighthearted humor joke. I played with the keyboard, if using a controller is actually easier I might try playing this game again from scratch with a controller instead.

...Oh dear god what am I saying, fuck that.

[–]Metalheadzaid 1 point2 points ago

Simple (can do wired or bluetooth adapter for $10 online):

http://www.motioninjoy.com/

Install that, set up PS3 controller, huzzah. This does depend on if the game has the ability to swap to controller, but if not you can simply map keys to the controller and have the same thing.

I used my PS3 controller via bluetooth to play emulators all the time.

[–]GovernorMcDandy 1 point2 points ago

A corded Xbox controller will work with windows. It installs the drivers required when you initially plug it in, so you don't have to download anything manually.

[–]JoshuaKallen 12 points13 points ago

Over 9000 deaths? That's impossible! :o

[–]Guardian_Of_Pigs 1 point2 points ago

Apparently you have not played the game. It is plenty possible.

[–]nimie 3 points4 points ago

Impressive. I remember when i finished my 100% I didn't play meat boy again for a few weeks after. Damn game nearly drove me nuts trying to finish it.

[–]LooksDelicious 4 points5 points ago

You are a monster. A beautiful kind of monster.

[–]kamakozei 3 points4 points ago

You know it goes to 107% right?

Proof

Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znR83ruwZKQ&feature=g-user-u Skip to 11 minutes to see the statistics.

[–]begentlewithme[S] 4 points5 points ago

Oh great, now I have to go hunting for that extra 1%. Does Cotten Alley have a negative level? Or maybe it's the bandage I heard about that's supposedly in Cotten Alley. Welp, time to go searching.

[–]Endraxial 2 points3 points ago

Did the same thing a few months ago. Want to be friends, seeing as how we obviously have none? <3

[–]mattbrvc 2 points3 points ago

you fucking psychopath

[–]CalmInTheSea 2 points3 points ago

Only 9000 deaths? Jesus, i'm working towards the same goal and i'm already at 6,000 with maybe doubling it the time I finish

[–]demensa 1 point2 points ago

I'm at over 10,000 deaths last time I checked and I'm only around 86%! This guy is amazing...

[–]foxchildsunday 2 points3 points ago

/r/gaming lets out a collective sigh as they wished they posted their 100% meat boy completion for dat karma

[–]MagnusWrex 4 points5 points ago

You're pretty good kid. Ya know, there's a video-game tournament in California called "Video Armageddon" that you should sign up for! I think a wizard like you could win ;)

[–]tigerfam1 4 points5 points ago

Nice try, tournament scouts.

[–]iSeven 4 points5 points ago

True challenge mode: Beat Super Meat Boy with a Powerglove.

[–]dgforce 1 point2 points ago

You have far more patience than I ever will.

[–]LordFendleberry 1 point2 points ago

You are a god among men.

[–]khrak 1 point2 points ago

I'm.... so sorry.

[–]bobi897 1 point2 points ago

now do this with tofu guy!

[–]SenHeffy 1 point2 points ago

Now you can go for these! Some of the achievements I am most proud of in any game.

[–]Me66 1 point2 points ago

Nice one! Now do it without dying.

[–]shamusisaninja 1 point2 points ago

[–]Marckoz 1 point2 points ago

How many keyboards have you sacrificed in order to achieve this?

[–]Lidodido 1 point2 points ago

From what planet are you now again?

[–]EvilNinja180 1 point2 points ago

I always thought it was 107% for the entire game. Including bandage girls rescue of meatboy and collecting all of the bandages http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znR83ruwZKQ....... watch at 10:55

[–]droxpopuli 1 point2 points ago

Again with 0 deaths.

[–]Devilb0y 1 point2 points ago

If you had demonstrated that kind of dedication, perseverance and personal sacrifice in the real world you'd probably be a gajillionaire with a super-hot wife by now.

P.S. Dismiss if you are a gajillionaire with a super-hot wife.

P.P.S Can I have money?

[–]buysomeapples 1 point2 points ago

Now 100% Dark Souls and you'll be the most hardcore of the hardcore.

[–]meatboy 1 point2 points ago

Mah nigga

[–]Yunodjent 1 point2 points ago

You just turned asian.

[–]Dope_Breeze 1 point2 points ago

I'm sorry to say but you need 107% to complete Super Meat Boy fully.

[–]LiquidAngel12 1 point2 points ago

I just started playing this game 2 days ago. I had hoped to beat light world yesterday, but my plans were thwarted when I was stuck on 6-5 for 3 hours. Then once Dr. Fetus wasn't a normal bossfight and was instead just another level essentially. I gave up for the night. Gonna try to finish off light world today.

[–]steven_wlkr 1 point2 points ago

<slowclap>

[–]doctorlust 2 points3 points ago

Theres not enough upvotes i can give in this world. grats dude

[–]Sciar 2 points3 points ago

I posted the same thing like a year ago and got two points!

Did you get all of the bandages as well? I played about 30hrs of SMB to unlock everything.

[–]Stomo 1 point2 points ago

Now do it with a keyboard.

[–]begentlewithme[S] 3 points4 points ago

I played on my PC so that WAS with a keyboard. Is the controller easier? I've heard a lot of bad things about the keyboard but it's all I'm used to at this point...

[–]logiebearz 3 points4 points ago

Holy shit hell, you did this with a keyboard? Like the first thing the game does when it boots is tells you that your life will suck if you don't use a controller. Even more props.

[–]nukethehomeless 1 point2 points ago

I did this with the keyboard as well. My pinky died from having to hold down shift so much.

[–]MonitorMan 2 points3 points ago

he did, get fucked

[–]Mrsabertoothzombie 0 points1 point ago

Probably one of the best feelings in video games. I envy you sir

[–]RandoGuy123 0 points1 point ago

Now you can do it... WITH LIFE!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

I can't get past the third world.

[–]issicus 0 points1 point ago

106% ? what's the extra 6%?

[–]frostickle 1 point2 points ago

I'm guessing it is DLC.

[–]chthonical 1 point2 points ago

Glitch levels.

[–]joelmartinez6 0 points1 point ago

Wow I have more than that in deaths and I haven't finished all the dark world levels. Color me impressed

[–]markrar 0 points1 point ago

Nice man, I'm working on that now. Check out Indie Game: The Movie if you haven't already, a lot of stuff in there about the guys that made Super Meat Boy. Also check out FEZ.

[–]latticusnon 0 points1 point ago

Does anyone know why on the Leaderboards on Steam, there are only 3 people who have completed 360 levels?

[–]dont_tell_my_mom 1 point2 points ago

That's because these people are cheaters and there are only around ~300 levels in the game.

[–]warheat1990 0 points1 point ago

respect

[–]knighmare 0 points1 point ago

Well done, im almost there myself, I just cant seem to finish chapter 5, and then all thats left is 7

[–]Sovietcafe 0 points1 point ago

Is your PC now shooting an endless supply of hundred dollar bills out the CD drive? That's what I always imagined would happen if you 100%'d the game.

[–]Exactly57Characters 0 points1 point ago

A feat only achieved by a lucky handful. Congratulations.

[–]lunchboxchronic 0 points1 point ago

Nicely done, I need to do like all of Dark World for the Rapture because fuck those levels and need like 14 bandages. Then have Cotton Alley to do :( like nearly all of light and all of Dark :'(

[–]DarthFlaw 0 points1 point ago

Congrats to you, you masochistic fucker! You get an upvote and my unending video game respect

[–]GamerJunkdotNet 0 points1 point ago

Insane. Great job.

[–]thrawnie 0 points1 point ago

[–]MyPunsSuck 0 points1 point ago

Grats, now do the Jumper series.

[–]skizzbot 0 points1 point ago

You may now return to the world...

[–]Insomnya3AM 0 points1 point ago

How do you kill that which has no life?

[–]roman_urban 0 points1 point ago

Wow. How many joypads did you use?

[–]GloppyGloP 0 points1 point ago

You are not human. This is impossible.

[–]Boolderdash 0 points1 point ago

I did the same thing, but it took me about 10,000 more deaths.

Fuck you, first Rapture warp zone. I know most of my deaths came from you...

[–]begentlewithme[S] 1 point2 points ago

Skyscraper? FUCK. THAT. LEVEL. That warp zone alone took me about 10 days to beat. After that, every other warp zone was EZ mode. Well, besides The Kid level but that one, at least I knew what I was in for.

[–]JustnCas3 0 points1 point ago

You must be Jesus in disguise.

[–]BloodyIron 0 points1 point ago

Now do it with 0 deaths.

[–]Aithyne 0 points1 point ago

I will never be able to do this. :(

[–]AzzaMcKazza 0 points1 point ago

How is your sanity?

[–]dirtydan101 0 points1 point ago

You are a god

[–]SuperlativeInsanity 0 points1 point ago

But what did you get?

[–]TooSexyForMyKayak 0 points1 point ago

Only 9k deaths? I've died more times in LoL and this is SMB we're talking about here.

[–]ninjamuffin 0 points1 point ago

Now go eat

[–]MuffinatorXIII 0 points1 point ago

don't handle any sharp objects because you are clearly insane.

[–]nms9807 0 points1 point ago

You fucking lad.

[–]ChewyAG 0 points1 point ago

That is some achievement! I can't unlock 'The Guy'. INSANELY STUPIDLY HARD. or I just suck

[–]OrphanDidgeridoo 0 points1 point ago

Super Meat Boy was the most hardcore thing ever. I loved every minute.

The best part is there is no way to get angry because you already respawn by the time you can complain.

I love using the enter key when I comment.

Anyway, the IWBTG levels in SMB took me about 8 hours. Oh those were the days

[–]steamruler 0 points1 point ago

Wait... 106%?

[–]simplyshnazzy 0 points1 point ago

holly fucking shit man!! mad props!

[–]Tadawk 0 points1 point ago

For those who have played Dark Souls/Demon Souls (beaten the game) and Super meat boy (everything completed), how would they compare in difficulty? I've heard many stories of broken PS3 controllers with DS. I'm well aware that the two are very different but I'm asking anyways.

[–]rxninja 1 point2 points ago

Totally different types of difficulty. SMB is in the same class as twitchy, precise games like Ikaruga while Dark Souls is far more cerebral. You can beat SMB with amazing motor skills, but Dark Souls requires patience and clarity of thought.

They're both fantastic games, honestly. I came to recommend Dark Souls and found this comment with a ctrl-f for it. I think people who like a challenge, regardless of what kind, will probably enjoy both.

[–]Cerpin 0 points1 point ago

You are a fucking god

[–]CorpFatCat 0 points1 point ago

I only have 10 more levels... :(

[–]LaboratoryManiac 0 points1 point ago

Congrats! I hope your carpal tunnel goes away soon.

[–]zombiegodzilla 0 points1 point ago

poor bastard

[–]IsmoLaitela 0 points1 point ago

Whoa! Only 9281 deaths? :O

[–]cypressious 0 points1 point ago

Now do it without dying.

[–]DrClimax 0 points1 point ago

The game is not complete! It's 140%

[–]Suyo 0 points1 point ago

Welcome to the club, good sir. Your reward bacon is at the entrance.

[–]mp5parker 0 points1 point ago

True skill, friend! Four letter word has beaten the shit out of me for months.
