Not to poo-poo on this cool image, but the color isn't natural. Caffeine is white crystalline solid at STP--pretty standard fare for organic compounds. The color is generated by fancy optical stuff on the crystals that I don't understand well enough to explain. But that demo is itself worthy of this subreddit anyway.

Actually, it IS possible to perceive the polarization of light, even if it is really tricky. See Wikipedia.

this is not a thc molecule. it is a trichome, which is composed of thc. you need to go deeper if you want to know what thc looks like.

many plants have trichomes, composed of chemicals which aren't thc.

Containing and composed of are different things.

A balloon contains air. A balloon is composed of rubber.

A trichome contains many different molecules, depending on the plant. (Pot trichomes contain THC, among other molecules)

A trichome is composed of various plant cells.
