Is that the juggalo chick from Workaholics?

[–]crazyboxheadman 143 points144 points ago

And Kristen Wiig's room mate in Bridesmaids.

[–]TheKiffney 26 points27 points ago

I was trying to come up with it. All I could see in my head was her and her brother in the bath together... Thank you for relieving me :)

[–]vertigo1083 48 points49 points ago

Bridesmaids shocked the hell out of me. I was expecting chick-flick-rom-com; and I was pleasantly surprised by a really funny fucking movie.

[–]othersomethings 36 points37 points ago

I really enjoyed seeing Chris O'Dowd in action again.

[–]danielcole 12 points13 points ago

so... you're saying that as a dude, I would probably enjoy Bridesmaids? Honestly I've avoided it so far

[–]vertigo1083 15 points16 points ago

I'm a guy who despises most chick-flicks. Hell, I even think Wedding Crashers went full chick-flick halfway through.

Bridesmaids was a funny-ass movie.

[–]bobandgeorge 7 points8 points ago

Bridesmaids was freaking vicious. Watch it.

[–]Brace_For_Impact 8 points9 points ago

It's like hangover but with women in it.

[–]homeboy5925 2 points3 points ago

its mexican for wasted

[–]serrakat 105 points106 points ago

It is

[–]Toyotaobsession 79 points80 points ago

Poor thing will now get typecast as a juggalo for the rest of her career.

[–]PatAunces 121 points122 points ago

I really don't think there are enough juggalo acting roles for that.

[–]G0VERNMENT 80 points81 points ago

Imagine Juggalo film festivals

[–]spamato 200 points201 points ago

I did. I'm suing for damages.

[–]yaredw 12 points13 points ago

Faygo for everyone!

[–]NBAallstar 12 points13 points ago

Faygo actually isn't that bad. Just remember it's one of those "you get what you pay for" kinda things.

[–]Rubber_Shit_Monster 1 point2 points ago

I would attend it every damn year.

[–]meowfaceman 5 points6 points ago

I think this fact may be proof that there is a loving, merciful god.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pypMXSpZDQ

Oh wait, nevermind.

[–]GaryDuder 1 point2 points ago

Um. Mostly "amateur" films.

[–]thetoastmonster 4 points5 points ago

Heh, I saw this photo and thought she looked familiar.. she was in a movie I just watched last night; Ghost Rider (with Nick Cage). She played a girl getting mugged in an alley.

[–]adharma 25 points26 points ago

Rebel is awesome. I miss The Wedge! (Australian comedy show).

[–]illeatyourheart 55 points56 points ago

Duuude, The Wedge was terrible. Rebel is pretty good though.

[–]GrantOz44 20 points21 points ago

Yep. The Wedge was utter tripe. The Last Decent Sketch show I can remember was Comedy Inc. - and it started going down before it was cut.

[–]fearofthesky 2 points3 points ago

Ronnie Johns had its moments. Started terrible but got better. Chopper (of course), the emo underground kids, the mum trying to be "cool" to her teenage daughter.

[–]adharma 4 points5 points ago

She was pretty much the only reason I watched the Wedge but

[–]unassuming_aussie 11 points12 points ago

She's great as Toula in fat pizza too. ooh habiby!

[–]big_bad_mojo 2 points3 points ago

Straight up Juggahos.

[–]kobimus 1 point2 points ago

Big money hustla?

[–]hodgeman29 1 point2 points ago

Big money hustlas coming to thanksgiving!

[–]supergalactic 1 point2 points ago

"My boobs are telling me to have sex with you"

[–]AttackDucks 133 points134 points ago

Wow, Rebel Wilson sure has come along way since Fat Pizza.

[–]rpfloyd 49 points50 points ago

She's done really well. She started off as comic relief on that show, and then progressively played a much larger role (no pun).

Also, "they're big and they're cheesy...".

[–]indorilakina 17 points18 points ago

Toula: "it's hot, but it's never too hot for hot food!"

[–]BrendanJB 20 points21 points ago

Toula: "Aw mah gawd, Habib, you are like, fully intelligent."

[–]you_freak_bitch 11 points12 points ago

woohoo for australia! she was always great on TGYH

[–]fearofthesky 1 point2 points ago

Oh that show was amazing. I hate channel Seven for killing it off. Anh Do, Shaun Micallef and Peter Rowsthorne killed it. We need more improv comedy on TV.

[–]OrSomething 9 points10 points ago

As a Brit, I had no idea who she was until I saw Bridesmaids. In fact, when I first saw the trailer for What To Expect When You're Expecting, I genuinely thought it was Kaley Cuoco in a fat suit.

[–]han-sh0t-first 7 points8 points ago

Her role on The Wedge was the only reason I watched that show.

[–]bradsingh 22 points23 points ago

You watched that show?

[–]han-sh0t-first 8 points9 points ago

Like I said: only for her role. Man, that show was awful.

[–]pandacamp 191 points192 points ago

She played the roommate in Bridesmaids, didn't she?

I've seen hundreds of movies and the role her and her "brother" in the movie played was one of the funniest that I have ever seen.

[–]slupo 370 points371 points ago

"Your diary proved very interesting to read." "You read... You read my journal?" "At first I did not know it was your diary. I thought it was a very sad, hand-written book."

[–]lurveloaveluff 40 points41 points ago

Her brother was played by Matt Lucas of Little Britain. Very funny guy.

[–]empireofnyy 6 points7 points ago

He also did the 25th Les Miserables anniversary. Ironically, just as funny.

[–]Mushucanbar 21 points22 points ago

OMG Toula, fully sick..

[–]marvins_room 102 points103 points ago

From the upcoming movie "Pitch Perfect", with Anna Kendrick. Adam DeVine from Workaholics is also in it.

Here's the trailer.

[–]oddfuture445 61 points62 points ago

So it's Glee meets Bring It On?

[–]TheGreenShepherd 22 points23 points ago

I can't tell if it's trying to take itself seriously or not...and that sort of scares me. Like, I think if it was sort of going through the motions, making fun of the genre, I think it might be really, really hilarious, based off of the preview. Then again, if it's a serious tribute to those films...ugh...

[–]maxd 6 points7 points ago

Prettttty sure it's a comedy. I hope to hell it is, because yes, it would be hilarious.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

I think it might be funnier if it took itself completely seriously.

[–]lolnah 1 point2 points ago

It can be both, Bring It On was totally self aware while also taking itself "seriously". Lots of winks to the camera that it was a joke, but still played itself seriously enough that the plot didn't fall apart because of it. I think people don't realize how clever that movie really was. The sequels, well that's something else entirely.

[–]ShitYourself 7 points8 points ago

Nailed it. Absolutely nailed it.

[–]oriz0r 105 points106 points ago

Goddamn, that movie looks awful.

[–]thedevilsdictionary 34 points35 points ago

HIGH SCHOOL BRIDESMAIDS THE MUSICAL!

[–]lackingsaint 12 points13 points ago

Seems really obviously not targeted at Reddit's demographic.

[–]GaryDuder 13 points14 points ago

Each movie is made by 1,000 people who don't know what the fuck they are doing. I'm amazed that there are any decent ones at all.

[–]apathyinternational 5 points6 points ago

No, every studio movie is made by 1,000 people who know exactly what they're doing; it's just a question of whether they've been told to do something stupid, or whether anyone knows what anyone else is doing.

[–]grendel-khan 2 points3 points ago

Yes, thank you. Movies are made well in all the ways that can be improved by throwing money at them--hordes of professional, competent people working as set designers, costumers, grips, gaffers, all that. If you want to see an incompetently-made movie, look at Manos: The Hands of Fate; it was made without all that competent professionalism. Or heck, consider Primer, which was made on a shoestring--great story, but the budget shows around the edges. (On the other hand, it could never have been made with a big budget.)

Big-studio movies are so frequently awful because making movies is such a crapshoot, and as a result, studio execs are terribly risk-averse, so they try to make it as deterministic as possible--adapting properties that people already like, doing sequels and copycats and bland, forgettable parodies (Friedberg and Seltzer routinely turn a profit).

Honestly, it's a wonder that anything really damned good ever gets made.

[–]KuhrazyIvan 8 points9 points ago

I thought it might be the kind of Workaholics awful that I find awesome, but it's its own kind of awful that's just awful.

[–]SomethingWittyasfuck 28 points29 points ago

As someone who likes bad movies musicals and bring it on I'm fucking EXCITED for this movie.

[–]OrSomething 1 point2 points ago

I am HUGELY disappointed in Anna Kendrick. Less surprised by John Michael Higgins' involvement though.

[–]ApolloHelix 25 points26 points ago

Rebel Wilson. Fat Amy is played by Rebel Wilson.

[–]neayaa 1 point2 points ago

"Rebel" is her real given name. Wilson was born and raised in Sydney with her three siblings, Liberty, Ryot and Annachi.[2][3]

Not sure if cool parents or retarded parents.

[–]AntiZombieDelta 18 points19 points ago

Adam really can't act at all can he? He is just Adam; and Adam is Adam.

[–]Aszuul 21 points22 points ago

who needs to act when you're Adam?

[–]AntiZombieDelta 8 points9 points ago

Ugh. Adam. Watching Workaholics, god he drives me nuts. He's such a typical bro-toolbag. Don't get me wrong sometimes he's really funny and sometimes I just wanna smoosh his smug little face in. Damn that is an awesome show though. I think the "Cortez/New Dealer" episode is my favorite. Either that or the juggalo one, because I love the middle class guy who sells hatchets.

[–]monom90 7 points8 points ago

Isn't that the point of his character?

[–]sharyan51 6 points7 points ago

He's also really bad at standup. It's a good thing for him Workaholics worked out

[–]prince_of_tacoma 30 points31 points ago

Anna Kendrick? Yup, I'll be there. DeVine is pretty funny as is the girl in the original post. But Anna Kendrick. Yup. I don't care if it's a "Glee ripoff" or "stupid." Anna Kendrick is great and beautiful.

[–]b3wizz 22 points23 points ago

The whole time I was watching 50/50, all I could think was, "Yep...I'd marry that."

[–]Edg-R 9 points10 points ago

I thought it looked pretty good. :-/

[–]kilgannon2113 15 points16 points ago

They filmed this at LSU. I go to school there and they filmed this particular scene in front of my dorm. Cool, right? Hell no. They parked a crap load of trucks all over our campus and took up valuable parking. They also forced many students, including myself, to move our cars from in front of our dorms in order for the actors to "have adequate room to perform their scenes". I also got to meet many of the actors in the movie, including Anna Kendrick, since many times they were wandering around campus a lot and all of them were stuck up assholes who were drunk or high every single time they were out. I seriously hope this movie fails for all the inconveniences it gave to the students.

[–]Mystfyre 4 points5 points ago

High five for LSU!

Okay, maybe not so much. A curt nod will suffice.

[–]too_many_penises 14 points15 points ago

Sometimes the lack of attribution is to weed out the nonbelievers (and those who can't use google.).

[–]StrawberryPlague 25 points26 points ago

I despise the concept of weeding out people in any context.

[–]Jhaza 18 points19 points ago

I feel like that's the sort of statement that sounds great and is totally unfollowable as stated. I mean, for instance, if you're trying to hire someone - you weed out the people who obviously aren't qualified. When you're looking for a doctor, you weed out all the hobos with cardboard signs that say, "WILL CUT U 4 MONEY". Those are both processes that deserve the utmost respect.

That said, yeah, not mentioning who said something so that only the cool kids get it is kinda dickish.

[–]StrawberryPlague 6 points7 points ago

Of course I agree with you. My statement was too generalised, it just popped up in the kinda dickish context.

But nevertheless, saying I despise something doesn't mean I don't have to do it every once in a while. That's life I guess.

[–]grendel-khan 2 points3 points ago

I can get behind "I despise the concept of weeding out people without a compelling reason", but that doesn't sound like I'm taking an important moral stand.

[–]HolyCheck 9 points10 points ago

I really appreciate that view.

[–]bacon_pants 12 points13 points ago

Vicky would kick her ass.

[–]goldemerald 868 points869 points ago

How does she know that they are bitches? That is a terrible assumption to make. What an asshole.

[–]yabba_dabba_doo 973 points974 points ago

Fat Amy thinks she's entitled to this hostile attitude because she's fat. Everybody feels a little bit sorry for her and lets her get away with it.

[–]hookguy 749 points750 points ago

Jokes on her, she's fat.

Edit: SRS award III, I'm honoured guys thank you so much! Gonna go for the big V next!

[–]IMasturbateToMyself 263 points264 points ago

I think this is just a character on a show so they are exaggerating to make it funnier, I don't know, I could be wrong.

[–]NBAallstar 165 points166 points ago

You get out of here with that reasoning.

[–]redds56101 104 points105 points ago

Probably one of them "homosexuals" I heard about on the news.

[–]dr_funkenberry 43 points44 points ago

So am I the only one who instantly uses a thick southern accent whenever I see the word 'homosexual' in quotations?

[–]Alpha_Angel 6 points7 points ago

"Homa-sexuul".

[–]Eats_Beef_Steak 3 points4 points ago

I prefer the appalachian hillbilly accent.

[–]googie_g15 2 points3 points ago

Nope. That was the accent my mind chose without any sort of thought as to why I was suddenly using it.

"Since you've already established I'm a bitch, don't you think "Obese Amy" would be a more descriptive name? I mean, "fat" is when you're, like, 30 or 40 pounds overweight. You, on the other hand, appear to be composed primarily of blubber."

[–]GaryDuder 40 points41 points ago

That doesn't have the same comedic ring to it.

[–]The3rdWorld 12 points13 points ago

i think the comments are all jokes too, i think everything is a joke...

[–]chewp911 11 points12 points ago

She's referring to them in the way Ludacris might. They're fine, upstanding bitches.

[–]goldemerald 1 point2 points ago

Shoot, I never thought of it that way. I guess I should just delete my comment now.

[–]AvaTate 136 points137 points ago

The line is actually "yeah, so twig bitches like you don't have to do it behind my back". She's assuming that they'll mock her weight because it is vastly more than their own. Which is, for the most part, true to life.

[–]beccaonice 3 points4 points ago

Is it? As a person who is skinny, I don't make fun of fat people. Most people I know don't. It's mostly bullies that make fun of fat people.

[–]GreatLookingGuy 46 points47 points ago

So what she's really saying is: "I recognize that you have all noticed how overweight I am; and I presume it's likely that you'll proceed to comment on that fact in the future, so before you do, I'll just go ahead and throw a baseless insult at you to teach you the lesson that describing people without embellishment is not something I'll tolerate!"

EDIT: I should mention I have no idea where this screen shot is from and this is all I can gather without any additional information.

[–]AvaTate 5 points6 points ago

Hey now, I never said I agreed with it, I just explained what was happening. Unfortunately, that mentality is accurate for some women. (It's unfortunate because the majority of women are conditioned to be excessively aware of their own appearance, and where it ranks amongst their peers. Naturally, you'd be defensive and abrasive if you felt you were being judged by others and had poor body image.)

[–]ThereWillBeHugs 51 points52 points ago

Do you not read the Internet? I pretty much assume every skinny person I see harbors a secret John-Doe-from-Seven-esque hatred of anyone three pounds or more overweight that they only admit to when they post on Reddit.

[–]Bthulhu 4 points5 points ago

Maybe, since this is a scene from a movie, they do something before this quote to show that they are bitches.

[–]gullale 8 points9 points ago

Also, technically she's making it much more likely that people will call her "Fat Amy" behind her back.

[–]Not_WShatner 22 points23 points ago

After that, I think I'd call her "That cunt Amy".
But maybe that's just 'cause I'm Scottish.

[–]SaneesvaraSFW 6 points7 points ago

Wouldn't it be "datcoont oimy" since you're Scottish?

[–]TheyreEatingHer 7 points8 points ago

I think it has to do with the tones of voices going on here. The skinny chick was probably being rude and condescending, just from telling by her body language alone. I think a little comeback from Fat Amy isn't that bad at all here.

[–]Chweeeet 1 point2 points ago

I'm sure in the show, they are.

[–]steakmeout 7 points8 points ago

And she's Aussie. And she worked with the second craziest man in Hollywood in his last decent movie in a starring role.

[–]adharma 2 points3 points ago

I can't tell if we're talking about Nicholas Cage or not.

[–]ThePhilBro 163 points164 points ago

Hefty comeback.

[–]TaStYCT 36 points37 points ago

I have no beef with it.

[–]SeemsLegitt 18 points19 points ago

You could say she has a large sense of humor

[–]JustinDiptheria 27 points28 points ago

Come on guys, don't pork fun at her.

[–]farmthis 19 points20 points ago

A little heavy on the puns, guys.

[–]CapAWESOMEst 7 points8 points ago

Isn't that girl (pink) one of Don Draper's girls in like season 3?

[–]superdarkness 7 points8 points ago

Yes, and she was on The Good Wife, and also True Blood. She is everywhere.

[–]GaryDuder 5 points6 points ago

Everywhere but your apartment, superdarkness.

[–]kreestin 3 points4 points ago

"I sometimes get the feeling I could do crystal meth, but then I think 'mmmmm better not'"

[–]Juantanamo5982 50 points51 points ago

Let's get mad at fictional characters so we feel better about hating a group of people in real life.

[–]cleverascal 2 points3 points ago

Sure feels like Facebook in here

[–]Phoequinox 38 points39 points ago

I'm getting so sick of the typecast "fat" girls in movies.

"We need a fat girl to play the role of Lardass McBitcherson. Any ideas?"

"Oh, what about that fucking cow from that really funny show where they always make fun of her weight?"

"PERFECT! Get her on the phone."

I get it, overweight people get cast as overweight characters. Whatever. But they seem to bludgeon you to death with the fact that their character is fat. As if there is no way in hell that a skinny guy can fall in love with an overweight woman (the opposite happens constantly, so there's no need to mention that). I see cute chubby girls in public all the time, and I'm always made fun of for how thin I am. Cliché and sappy as it sounds, I see beauty in everyone, and I consider it a gift, because I couldn't imagine living life being so critical of people's appearances.

[–]candystripedlegs 6 points7 points ago

i have only seen this particular chick in 'bridesmaids', but in that movie she was hilarious and they didn't play up the fat angle at all.

[–]Phoequinox 5 points6 points ago

No, Bridesmaids was pretty tactful in their handling of overweight actresses, I'll give them that. They focused on the personalities, not on the appearance, and that was pretty damn cool. But it's such a rare occurrence. Thankfully, that was a very successful movie. It didn't really portray either of the overweight actresses in a good light, but pretty much everyone in that movie sucked for one reason or another, so it's reasonable. It's a step in the right direction. Gabourey Sidibe could also turn the tides if she steers clear of "sassy fat, black woman" roles. I thought she was great in Tower Heist, even though I heard a lot of people complaining about her accent.

[–]beccaonice 5 points6 points ago

And generally male actors can get away with being overweight and it not being the biggest characteristic of any character they play (Zach Galifinakis for example), but a larger woman will almost always be "fat" in a character she plays.

[–]TheRealSamBell 14 points15 points ago

My sister and I still refer to our grandparents as "fat grandma" and "skinny grandma". Helps clear up any confusion

[–]Amauriel 12 points13 points ago

We had two girls with the same name in my school growing up. First, middle, and last names, exact. High school of not even 400 people.

One tanned, a LOT. So we called them Regular and Extra Crispy. I'm pretty sure Extra Crispy wanted to murder all of us in her sleep. We used to tell them that it was to clear up confusion as well...

[–]hinditurkey 7 points8 points ago

When my siblings and I were little, we referred to our grandmas as "black grandma," "brown grandma," and (great grandma) "white grandma," because of their different hair colors.

Didn't realize what we were saying could be misconstrued until much, much later.

[–]gecko_equator 2 points3 points ago

Did the same, but mine were "crazy grandma" and "squishy grandma".

[–]Devin043 24 points25 points ago

Is it just me, or was that toward the top one or two days ago? Come on guys... I thought we talked about this....

This is the most polite repost complaint I've ever read.

[–]Devin043 8 points9 points ago

They never listen to force. You try, but they just block you out and fall back into the same habits. Then you get to watch them slowly destroy themselves. It affects everyone. Nobody reacts the same to them, and people start to give up. You feel like a failure. It sucks, bro.

[–]mach-2 5 points6 points ago

They need therapy pal. Have you tried taking them to a therapist?

[–]Devin043 4 points5 points ago

It's no use. Once they get deep enough in their own path of destruction, there's no going back.

[–]mach-2 6 points7 points ago

Never give up on them. Redditham is full of people ready to believe in good.

[–]Devin043 5 points6 points ago

But, the reposts. There's just too damn many! There's nothing we can do. This battle is one that is unbeatable. Hope is lost, friend.

[–]mach-2 4 points5 points ago

In guerilla warfare, it is believed that the larger a group is, the slower they are. Therefore we're hidden and they're exposed. The reposts are necessary sometimes. Some are genuine mistakes, others are blatant karma grabs. We will never be able to genuinely justify a war on all reposts as the sentiments behind them are on opposing ends of the spectrum of the conscience. But what we can do is try to be the little spark in the cave of unoriginality, a beacon of enlightenment and tolerance, a canopy of accommodation for the new users who see the reposts as new experiences.

[–]Devin043 4 points5 points ago

So we'll wait and ambush them when they least expect it. And then we- Oh fuck!! They see me!!! I've been shot!!!!!

It's Rebel Wilson, she's an Aussie Comedian. Check out "Fat Mandy" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMdeBx7NQgU

[–]kevons5252 4 points5 points ago

.... Is that the guy's sister from Bridesmaids?

[–]argon1028 4 points5 points ago

I immediately remember her as the roommate from Bridesmaids. Her line about asking guy to "stick his American sausage in her English muffin" cracked me up something fierce.

[–]GeoRhi 3 points4 points ago

Rebel Wilson, she is so cool.

[–]DudeDracula 3 points4 points ago

I believe the line is "twig bitches".

[–]Satans_pro_tips 19 points20 points ago

Funny post but the title is stupid as fuck. Owned? That's the best you could do? Are you 13? Fucking stupid.

Come on downvotes.

[–]rAtheismSelfPostOnly 8 points9 points ago

Stupid title

[–]alexjames21 2 points3 points ago

wow, do people even use the word owned in that context still? :/

[–]notaverynicebot 3 points4 points ago

mmmm, more like Hot Amy. I could help her burn some calories o/

[–]Beardown2011 2 points3 points ago

I worked with her once, she was so nice and funny. upvote.

"I'll give you some advice bastard. Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor and it can never be used to hurt you" -Tyrion Lanniser

[–]LeftisBest 5 points6 points ago

How does fall under the category of "owned"? She's so concerned about people she doesn't know calling her fat behind her back that she thinks labeling herself as fat is a better alternative, while pretty much telling a potential friend she sees her as a two faced bitch without getting to know her first.

[–]mikeno1 1 point2 points ago

Your title is bad and you should feel bad.

[–]gonffen 1 point2 points ago

"I sometimes think I should do crystal meth and then I think, mmm better not."

Totally made the trailer worth it.

[–]lukeisopinionated 1 point2 points ago

This title portrays how kids are invading reddit slowly.

[–]danoll 1 point2 points ago
