I dont really get this. I think of CoD as a game where I get shot once and die, or someone zooms across the map and knifes me. I mean the one thing I like about CoD is the fact I can shoot them 1 and a half times and get a kill

To be fair, this is more like counter strike or games like team fortress where the weapon damage is much weaker. Before you guys go nuts, hear me out. In counter strike the weapons are much weaker, less accurate and harder to use. The amount of times I've thought I've shot someone to death in CS/CSS only for them to turn around and nail me in some form is crazy, compared to CoD, where generally speaking if you get the drop on someone they tend to go down except in rare cases of bullshit.

You can't deny that, anyone that's played the games will know what I'm talking about.

A knife kill in counter strike is a hell of a lot harder to get than one in CoD. The fact is in CoD you could get marathon/commando (from what I remember in MW2) and just go around knifing people. Since the maps had a lot of corners and close quarters it wasn't really hard at all, infact it was a pretty effective way to play sometimes. In CS going around with a knife isn't going to happen. Also guns in CS arn't that weak, of course you could hit someone 7 times in the leg, but if you hit them a couple times in the chest with a rifle they'll go down.

I know what you mean there, in TF2 barring someone like the sniper, you need to land consistent shots in order to bring someone down. And in CS it's all about the headshots if you want to win shootouts.

I still didn't like how commando in CoD allowed guys to shunpo 1-3 meters and insta-kill you.

I play both, and I actually have to say that I don't find this to be much of an issue in either game.

In CoD, yeah you get knifed a lot. Most of the time though, you had enough opportunity to knife them too. I know I just have really bad knife reaction times.

In CS, you only really knife if the opportunity presents itself, or if you're out of ammo in both guns. If you see someone facing away and can land a backstab on them, hell yeah go for it. Otherwise, you really can't do much since it's a very slow two hit kill. If you shot them enough, then it's probably worth it to try. But in reality, it isn't a instant switch/kill like CoD, it takes a second to switch to it and another between swings.

Running straight at someone is 100% death as a spy in tf2. Even if you come around a corner at them.

COD it is not the preferred strat, but since you have flying knife powers with commando it will do in a pinch.

In my experience, this also goes for Bad Company 2. I can't tell you how many times I'm firing furiously at someone and get knifed. This never seems to work for me, however.

In my experience, it's really just lag most of the time that allows things just as ridiculous as that gif, or worse. In Modern Warfare 2, the commando ability was a little retarded, but made much worse with lag.

With the energy sword, but you have to remember that Spartans are wearing armor with shields. CoD has nothing like that and it still takes a clip to kill someone, and you can snipe people with your knife.

hahaha I remember when I finally just gave up on CoD. I started playing like the biggest idiot on the planet, I'd pull out my knife and run around head on knifing people while they were shooting at me, except I'd pretend I was a runningback. I'd charge at them doing zig/zags and all these complex jukes and fakes to throw off thier aim, except it wasnt anything like having a high success-rate like knifing someone around a corner or sneaking up behind them, but when I actually did knife someone that way I felt like the biggest fucking champ ever.
