It seems like that would have done a relatively small amount of damage to the vehicle even if it had been closer. Breaking the ground / asphalt probably soaked up 90% of the force, and whatever was left would have gone into flipping the vehicle, leaving the passengers shaken but still alive.

Didn't see much in the way of fragmentation or overpressure in that .gif.
