Beware of trading scammers!

A subreddit for anything related to games (but not sports). "Related" means that posts must contain gaming-related content in the link/post body, not just a "forced" connection via the title or a caption added to the content.

"Generic" image macros/memes (where the character itself is not related to gaming) like Scumbag Steve, Good Guy Greg, etc. will be removed. Something that "reminds you of a game", or "looks like something from a game" is also not an appropriate submission.

My problem with BR players: They speak Portuguese all game between the two (sometimes three) of them, don't try to communicate with me or my friend(s), then complain in fucking ENGLISH that we did something wrong.

There's a goram Brazilian server, please stop queuing on the North American servers! You'll get better ping as a result of playing on the BR servers...

I have a theory that BRs are sick of playing with BRs so they queue on USEast/USWest.

It's not really dota, it's any really F2P game you can think of with low sysreqs. Ultima Online was a great example of a game raped by BRs. It's not that I hate Brazilians or Brazilian gamers, it's just that most of them I've met have been non-communicative, rude and point fingers to never shoulder blame when they fuck up.

The general problem with Brazilians is the language barrier and the often badly implemented servers that put them in games with other players who don't speak their language.

They do however have absolutely massive gaming populations, and can be very good if not consistently better than other players.

The reason they're commonly portrayed as bad players is the fault of the MOBA genre, which (this might be a little wordy) kinda runs like this...

"The Outcome of a Match of Dota1-2/LoL/Hon is based upon an absurd number of intricate actions and reactions between the ten player teams. Most of the time, the results of these interactions don't influence the game immediately or in any consistent way, and therefore are outside of the normal instant human Cause/Effect Reasoning. This makes learning from mistakes immensely difficult, and determining which players on a team made the mistakes even more so. A player "Dying Frequently" could be bad playstyle, or the result of teammates inadvertently encouraging the enemy to play offensively, or not providing enough support.

But all players see is the guy dying, or the guy not talking the same language as the rest of the team, or the guy who's off there in the jungle doing his own thing, and the team gets mad and blames them."

No offense Moba Lovers, but i started hating that genre when i realized exactly how difficult it was to actually judge what you were doing right or wrong in those games when you started playing at a high-tier level.

What do you expect from the NA severs? The problem is they play on foreign servers, don't speak the language and more often than not have a bad connection as well. Honestly can't blame the servers.

I play pickup games non-ranked on LoL almost exclusively and I don't claim to be anywhere near pro (I have my moments) for how much I've played. It always seems like I get in games with 2 BR's that sit and talk to each other and then yell at you all game for having a 3/1 record when they have a 1/3. The minute you say anything back or die again, it goes into pure troll mode and they seem to do everything but walk into enemy towers. And then you get reported for reciprocating trash talk.

I use this as a counter argument in that most pickup games can be played without talking. I've played with a number of different language speakers and we usually go about our business and ping instead of talking. It just seems like half the trolls I see are BR regardless of the language barrier. Of course, I've probably played with several great BR's and the other half of trolls likely speak English well, but I still see a disproportionate amount of BR trolling.

This sounds like every random on my battlegroup on WoW. Always 1+ in a group, saying things in Brazilian-Portuguese, only speaking English to berate others for things they didn't actually do.
