I have nothing against good people using religion to enrich their spiritual lives and I don't want to bash religions for that reason... But come on gotta admit some push way too far. That is true, I suppose; however, r/atheism is the only popular subreddit I've seen where 90% of the posts just make fun of people. I went on after you mentioned it yesterday to see if it could redeem itself, and all I see are facebook posts laughing at people, posts saying "I don't care if you're offended," "not sure if stupid or just christian," etc. r/atheism is just one big circlejerk of narcissism.

Organized religion is responsible for many many atrocities throughout history, but I still believe if someone just wants to believe in God on their own, not necessarily within any given church, they should be allowed to without ridicule. r/atheism tends to bleed over into bashing on a personal level, rather than at organized religion. However, that's because there are a lot of assholes on r/atheism.

Apparently, you and I visit two entirely different r/atheism subreddits; because, the one I have been looking at are just a bunch of people circlejerking about how ignorant and awful religion is. Both viruses and religious people feel the need to replicate, spread, and destroy. If you want to heal at all, you have to completely obliterate the virus or it will quickly reproduce and everything is back at square one. If any of them can just keep their mouth shut, so, their beliefs won't bleed into this world, that's okay. I just think they're crazy and avoid them.

EDIT: I am assuming that schizophrenics and the alike should run around talking to invisible people with distorted realities with out ridicule as well.

If you don't follow religion and instead have faith there is a great feeling of peace. Most religions have become, over time, a pollution of the original faiths they were started upon. Any "Christian" that says homosexuals, soldiers, people of other faiths, different races should die is foolish and misguided.

Well its really complicated, but we could be compared to cells in you body that collectively make you, similarly we are are cells on a body that is earth and exist to keep it at a state of equilibrium. Just because we are a bit smarter doesn't mean we have a higher purpose, its like saying that the cells of your body has a higher purpose, other than keeping you alive, which we both know they don't. Also what is it about us that make us more important than other animals, do you pick a specific group of cells in your body and say that this group is more important than all the others? Probably not, and religion is only made in order to keep people in line, until someone came along and started speaking on behalf god so they could have thing the way they. I am sure if you detach yourself from it you would be able to truly good person without having god or other people force you to be something just because your apart of a group who do thing certain way and would be free to do whatever you want and the way you want to do it.

If you need god in order to be good, it means you are truly bad at heart and I never said cells are more important than you, I said your not no more important than a cell, just bigger, and if god, false hope and delusion will help you to lead a "normal" life, by all means continue doing what your doing, just don't leave everything up to god, you will lose hope and doing something bad. Also, evolution is something accepted by almost everyone with a little common sense and logic, the only issue is that we have not found the reason why we are not like the other animals and what was force that pushed us into keeping these genes alive, and if we are here for a reason than what is that reason and what gods reason for creating us?

I would fight for you if somebody tried to change what you believe. Nobody has control over others beliefs.
