Probably not that much, afterall all he did was turn left. The angle is what makes it seem that way, being the jet your watching from is still moving forward.

The fact that he is moving away from the camera doesn't mean his velocity has changed drastically. It just means that he is moving along an arc of some sort.

Okay, imagine that both of the jets were stationary, since from the reference frame of the camera they basically are.

If the jet were going from a stand-still to that motion, it would be obvious how much force that is. It's no different when it's moving at a relatively constant velocity forwards.
