Actually we are not frozen, nor do we have snow here. But, of course, I'm not talking about every part of Russia, just the place where I live. It's pretty hot here.

My favorite part of this misconception is that it is actively reinforced by western media. There have been Hollywood movies where characters are doing something in the US during summertime, then decide to travel to Russia where it's suddenly a snowy winter.

Now, think about this. The movie's production team actually had to wait half a year to film those scenes and spend extra resources just to present this stereotype to a bunch of idiots who expect Russia to look like that year-round.

A lot of scenes with nice weather are taken in places like Russia, while some scenes that show heavy snowfall are taken in Australia.

This part. People seem to think it's always cold in Russian and are surprised to hear that I where I used to live (near Moscow) we'd have days that put the heat in California to shame. I've suffered through 110F summer days with not even a fan to cool me off.

We left Russia when I was 5, so I've few memories of the place. One of them was of seeing a shirtless guy walking through the bazaar in the summer. We have no men in our family and I was so amazed that guys can just walk around shirtless.

It was hot.

while i was on vacation in my home country of ukraine i traveled to a small village 200 miles south of moscow. it was a very small farm town and the rolling plains were b-e-a-utiful. the grass was greener then any green i ever seen in the states, the flowers were dancing colors of red, and the yellow sunflowers were gorgeous. the temperature was around 80-100 mostly. when it rained it was a very pleasing 80 :) TL;DR - russian vacation, green, yellow, red, beautiful, pleasantly hot.
