Speaking of which, I've always loved this clip of a leopard getting flanked by a warthog formation. It really demonstrates how smart and cunning warthogs can be.

(BTW, I'm pretty sure the youtube description is wrong. That leopard got away with just a broken tail and a gash on his side, IIRC.)

It moves too fast and the the video is too low quality, but it looked like the horn was all the way under the pig, cradling it before launching it into the air. I think that the way it picked it up might have helped with launching the pig that far.

For all we know it might just be that the tip of the rhino's horn is darker than the rest. The stomach of the pig looks unharmed. And on top of all that I desperately don't want to have seen a pig die. :(

Interestingly, I was walking through a zoo last weekend and I got to these warthogs (or very similar looking hogs of some sort) and could smell this intense strong smell of buttered popcorn.

Then I read a sign saying that the smell is produced by the pigs to attract mates. It's unbelievable how similar to buttered popcorn it is.

Guys, I am 99.99999999% sure the hog was only thrown, not punctured. Firstly, the Rhino's horns are curved, if he was gored, he would not have been thrown straight up. It's unlikely he would have been thrown in the air at all. Secondly, I'm pretty sure that when you make a wound, there is always splatter. There was no splatter. Thirdly, belly show no signs of a wound in the last frame(escape to pause on Firefox).

Although, he probably broke something in the fall, which would be a death sentence anyway.
