There's a church in New Mexico that purported to have access to ayahuasca. Since it falls into religion it can't be denied by the government. I haven't done any thorough research on it, but my understanding is that you can get ayahuasca in the U.S. if you really look for it. Part of that means extensive research on who, where and how.

It's important to stress that pure DMT is a rocket blast to the [outer atmosphere / near space] as where ayahuasca is an SR-71B co-piloted by Gaia. Scale of one to ten ayahuasca is a somewhat pleasant 8 or 9. DMT is probably the only drug I know of that actually does go to 11. And lets you come back. All in less than ten minutes.

Another thing about it: you don't trip. You do not go insane. Instead, you go sane. Which can be a little upsetting to people. I'm a Sober Syd and I find myself unsettled by "reality" regularly. All of these mental filters and belief-systems are kind of like warm fuzzy blankets. DMT takes away that blanket and you see clearly what's around you. Sort of like how when you're asleep and everything makes perfect sense - you don't know why, but it's absolutely comprehendable. And sometimes sinister depending on various circumstances.

Look into DMT. Even if you never do it the subject is well worth the footwork.
