"It's another fokkin syndie picket..." Not everyone in Questers took kindly to the syndicalist threat. While massive riots shook the foundations of larger citys like Jessleton, factory owners and their supporters were much more free to act on their will in the more far flung frontiers of the country. The picket line far ahead were workers from the canned food plant, trying to send their message that the plant should be managed by the workers. In Jessleton, such a large disturbance would warrant riot police, but by the far western border with Chujland things were done quite a bit differently...

The owner of the plant was keeping his distance from the potential violence, but the constant radio reports were as good as he was there himself. A small formation of modified pickups came together at a crest of the hill. Each truck was uparmored, and carried a heavy machine gun or an autocannon in a plated nest in the truck bed. The men operating the technicals were militiamen, the Manager's personal thugs. They all watched the scene below uneasily as most tried to calm themselves as they took drags from cigarettes or prepared themselves by crushing up their issued amphetamines on the dash of the trucks. But one thing was certain -- it was a bad day for poor man sindie.

Go, the command was simple and clear through the radio, and quickly the fleet of technicals hurtled down the hill. Just as the picket line saw the threat and started to scatter, the first shots were fired. Salvos of 20 millimeter shells hurtled into the crowd, scattering viscera and severed limbs high into the air. The truck crew drew a cruel laugh as they watched the bloody scene, and made a sharp turn to make another charge to the crowd. The heavy trucks slid across the grass that was now slicked with blood, and the survivors screamed out as several trucks lost control in the slide to crush several syndies to death. Fallback, now. None knew why the order was given, but the technical fleet followed suite and sped away, many tossing several grenades as a parting gift. Syndalcalism was on the rise for most of the nation, but it would take years for some frontier states to get past the violence and slaughters, nearly every gathering ended as a heap of gore, and on the news it was just another old syndie slaughter.
