Appropriate that the gif is Gary Oldman (Sirius)

[–]Anthony_HopkinsNitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak! 21 points22 points ago

[–]LauraBoBaura 39 points40 points ago

No joke! And all those HP deaths... what a sirius loss. (teehee)

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

HP sauce!

[–]ellveekayWit Beyond Measure 13 points14 points ago

TIL Gary Oldman played Sirius. Really. Seriously. I never actually checked.

I always thought Viggo Mortensen would have been Sirius, he was in my mind.

Apparently this was not relevant to the thread, and I apologise.

[–]DaSemonatorChaser 20 points21 points ago

Gary Oldman is the ultimate movie chameleon. He absolutely becomes his roles.

[–]porcelaingod 1 point2 points ago

He really does. I was so surprised after watching Tinker Tailor, Harry Potter, and the Chris Nolan Batman movies to find out that he had been typecast most of his life as a psychpathic villain, but he TOTALLY pulls it off. I've now seen The Professional, Air Force One, and The Fifth Element, and I have to say I think he really shines in the Fifth Element (despite the fact that it's a hilariously shitty B movie.)

[–]hungrycaterpillar 2 points3 points ago

For true Gary Oldman thrills, there are a few films which really stand out. First, if you are at all a fan of punk (edit: or even if not), Sid and Nancy is a must. Look for a little gem called Track 29 for a real mindfuck. Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead is a serious classic. Romeo Is Bleeding is 90's pulp noir revival crime and violence, and the chemistry with Lena Olin is twisted hot. His bit in True Romance is hilarious. He made a pretty decent Lee Harvey Oswald in JFK, but it was a small part. Dracula was over the top, but he was definitely iconic in the movie. And he was really moving in Immortal Beloved.

[–]porcelaingod 0 points1 point ago

I already have Sid and Nancy and True Romance downloaded and ready for watching, I'll add the rest to my list :)

[–]dalek_999[Snape's Bitch] 0 points1 point ago

Don't forget My Immortal Beloved; definitely worth a watch.

[–]chanciferThe Dark Lord Ascending -1 points0 points ago

I love the Fifth Element. Partially because it's a bad movie. Lol.

[–]porcelaingod 0 points1 point ago

But it's SOOO good. Tied for my favorite actor was Chris Tucker. I've rewatched only the parts with him in them so many times...

[–]chanciferThe Dark Lord Ascending 0 points1 point ago

He is part of what makes the movie awesome.

[–]10d6 0 points1 point ago

Yes, one of those guys. Tom Hardy is another one for me. I never recognize him in any movies.

[–]ellveekayWit Beyond Measure 0 points1 point ago

I agree! He was very very good as Sirius. I also loved him in Batmans and Fifth Element!

[–]Melairia 130 points131 points ago

[–]LunaMcLovin[S] 65 points66 points ago

That will haunt my dreams forever, thanks.

[–]AverageHoe 21 points22 points ago

It's not like we wanted to sleep tonight or anything.

[–]kitsuko 17 points18 points ago

In the scale of things I've seen, this is nothing. Nothing.

[–]Akarei 3 points4 points ago

I'm glad I have all day to forget it. I just woke up.

[–]MarriedToReddit 4 points5 points ago

I burst out laughing when I saw it. But, then again, I'm not normal.

Carry on.

[–]BrynHavoc[Auror] 9 points10 points ago

This is the most terrifying thing I've seen in a while.

[–]Aitrus233 13 points14 points ago

Corinthian, is that you?

[–]Spruxy 2 points3 points ago

[–]schwerpunk 0 points1 point ago

Mouths for eyes is such a great visual; I wish we saw it in more media.

[–]WafflesTastyWaffles 4 points5 points ago

Was laughing/freaking out so much at this that my hands were shaking too badly to close the tab it was in; as a result I had to look at it for about 20 seconds longer. O.O

[–]JupitersClock 0 points1 point ago

OH fuck that scared me.

[–]Khaze 1 point2 points ago

I heard it in a demonic voice.

[–]kh2linxchaos 1 point2 points ago

Came here for this.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points ago

Aye, same. I want to spread the gospel of the 3-mouthed Gary Oldman.

[–]IthinkthatsagiraffeOwlPatronus17409 -1 points0 points ago

GAH.

[–]SykuteHD -1 points0 points ago

Can not unsee...

[–]anotherthrowaway4259 -1 points0 points ago

Yup, definitely not going to sleep tonight

[–]labeille87 -2 points-1 points ago

Why would you do that to me?

[–]parker214An excellent finder -2 points-1 points ago

That is scary as fuck.

[–]Koernchen -5 points-4 points ago

Its funny how every time this gif is posted, someone thinks it's super funny to post that three mouthed gif and names the link to it "enjoy" even though he should know it cannot ever be enjoyable to watch it.....I will from now on monitor the usernames of these people! Also relevant, why doesn't anybody ever think it would be nice to know what Gary Oldman actually said? I always just click on the comment section to find out and then see this instead. Does anyone now?

[–]Melairia 2 points3 points ago

He says "Everyone" Link

[–]Koernchen -4 points-3 points ago

Thanks ;) but please, don't post that other video again. Was afraid to click the link......

[–]kazetoame 17 points18 points ago

Actually JK did at one time seriously considered offing Ron

[–]Hyperdrunk 7 points8 points ago

She also almost killed off Arthur in the 5th book, allegedly.

I would like to have seen Percy die, to be honest. Fraking traitor.

[–]Cheeze_wizTotal slut for redheaded chicks 0 points1 point ago

I'll trade Percy for Lavender. She might have been a tinsey winsey bit obnoxious, but the whole Hermione trying to save her thing made me tear up a wee bit.

[–]KaleidoscopeHeavensWeasley is our king! 1 point2 points ago

NOT MY WON-WON!

[–]Odusei 76 points77 points ago

Cheers from r/GameofThrones.

[–]thehitchrestinpeace 19 points20 points ago

Thanks for the cheers, but I wouldn't drink that if I were you....

[–]Ridyi 16 points17 points ago

Aw yeah, this is my new favourite character.
.
.
.
I'M KIDDING I'M KIDDING I HATE THEM, NOOOOOO GRRM

[–]abasss 0 points1 point ago

ASOIAF has a million times more characters than HP. Someone needs to verify the proportion of characters killed.

[–]Odusei 0 points1 point ago

George R.R. Martin also isn't done killing yet (or introducing new characters). I'm still willing to bet that ASoIaF has HP beat in that department.

[–]abasss 0 points1 point ago

You're willing to bet, but I'm too lazy to count the amount of characters GRRM created.

[–]mieloveHouse of Black 0 points1 point ago

To start it off HP has 772 character mentions although only about 400 of those are characterized. And only ~200 of those we actually care enough about to want (or not want) them dead.

[–]abasss 0 points1 point ago

It can't be that many. Source?

[–]Odusei 0 points1 point ago

Nor am I willing to count all of the characters J.K. Rowling created.

[–]lancer02 20 points21 points ago

i usually just tell them to read the book and run away crying

[–]AnaheraAwherwa 18 points19 points ago

While I have never been asked this question, I have been told by others who have that they tell the asker that Harry dies.

[–]legendaris 25 points26 points ago

It's a lie and a truth all in one answer

[–]Hyperdrunk 4 points5 points ago

I am guilty of this. Multiple times over. They are always very skeptical but you can see in their eyes that some part of them believes you and they have to know whether or not what you just said was true.

[–]silverraider525 23 points24 points ago

I simply reply with "Who didn't die is an easier question to answer"

[–]JimmyDThing 5 points6 points ago

My favorite is when I'm asked if Harry lives of dies. And my answer is always "Yes. And that's the truth."

[–]MelisSassenach 20 points21 points ago

I feel like we didn't lose nearly as many people as we could have. Obviously there were a lot of serious deaths...but it could have been way worse.

[–]littlebanshee 22 points23 points ago

Yeah, I was convinced she was going to kill off one of the main trio.

[–]MarriedToReddit 8 points9 points ago

God, how much would that have sucked?

[–]Hyperdrunk 14 points15 points ago

Could you imagine how devastated Ron would be if Hermione had bit the dust? His life would have been in ruins. IMO if Ron died Hermione would have been crushed but could have moved on with life... Ron on the other hand would never recover from Hermione dying.

[–]MarriedToReddit 3 points4 points ago

Oh, god. Yeah, I think Hermione is a lot stronger than him, so she wouldn't be as bad. I really think Ron would kill himself if she died.

[–]poompt 9 points10 points ago

That would have made the epilogue a lot more interesting to me.

[–]Hyperdrunk 8 points9 points ago

Harry's sons.... Albus Severus and Ronald James...

[–]10d6 1 point2 points ago

Hell, I would have liked to see a whole noir-style spin-off about a suicidal Ronald Weasley drifting into alcoholism in his late twenties and/or eary thirties.

[–]MarriedToReddit 0 points1 point ago

Oh no doubt it would, but I love Ron, so it would have sucked.

[–]Hyperdrunk 3 points4 points ago

Well, briefly, she did IMO... but that section is completely up to interpretation.

[–]dumbledorkusSnitches be trippin 1 point2 points ago

What?

[–]smohmand 0 points1 point ago

When Harry went to limbo.

[–]achshar -2 points-1 points ago

Hyperdrunk said "She", while harry is "He"

[–]Anti_Mind_Virus 10 points11 points ago

Hyperdrunk was referring to JKR.

[–]Laeryken 1 point2 points ago

Exactly, thank you.

[–]mr_ow 5 points6 points ago

This is probably the most appropriate context I've seen this .gif used, reaction wise. Well played.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points ago

let us all bow our heads for a moment of silence

[–]Dubsacks 3 points4 points ago

No matter how u slice it, still my fav GIF ...up vote

[–]aicanhascupcakez 4 points5 points ago

I see this gif everywhere and I STILL don't know what this guy is saying.

[–]redpanda252 19 points20 points ago

Everyone. -_-

[–]Shutup_Wesley 2 points3 points ago

This guy is Sirius Black!

[–]jcmc2112 1 point2 points ago

I always just tell people Harry died. The looks on their faces are priceless. Yes, I'm evil & don't care :)

[–]bearedbaldy 1 point2 points ago

Is it weird I can hear him saying it, I know it's just a gif...but still. Like the one with the jumping phone towers.

[–]curtiskingftw 1 point2 points ago

Leon rocks!!!!

[–]waffles93 2 points3 points ago

Omg this is the greatest post I have ever seen in this subreddit

[–]LunaMcLovin[S] 15 points16 points ago

[–]DumpykinsWingardium Leviosa! 3 points4 points ago

That was hilarious.

[–]SlayBelleA little bit evil 1 point2 points ago

I had a bit of a chuckle, then hoped my boyfriend (who has not read the books) didn't ask me what I was giggling at. It would have been awkward... "EVERYONEEEEEEE!" blank look

[–]arcade_13 0 points1 point ago

This made me laugh embarrassingly loud. Thanks!

[–]ImReadingRainbows 0 points1 point ago

Posts like these are teaching me to read lips.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

me too!

[–]Kittyz_fo_BrakfustMen Who Love Dragons Too Much 0 points1 point ago

Oh yes. Once I finished reading Deathly Hallows, I just sat in my bed for hours contemplating all my feels and the fact that it was over. 'Twas a sad night indeed.

[–]Buyn -1 points0 points ago

"Everyone."

[–]meowtacular 0 points1 point ago

This is it. You nailed it. EVERYONE! That rage is not only due to the deaths but also from the aggravation of having to answer such a question. READ THE BOOKS!!!! Siriusly.

[–]BZAGENIUS 0 points1 point ago

I feel your pain. This is pretty much my reaction whilst reading through the 4th 'A Song of Ice and Fire' book :(

[–]nameless_faceless 0 points1 point ago

I can't read lips. What is he saying?

[–]LunaMcLovin[S] 2 points3 points ago

"EVERYONE."

[–]nameless_faceless 0 points1 point ago

Went back and watched it, never would have come up with "everyone" in a million years.

[–]legoman50204 0 points1 point ago

"Half, in one" is what I came up with. I was thoroughly confused.

[–]loveshercoffeephoenix egg polisher 0 points1 point ago

[–]GideonWilde 0 points1 point ago

what movie is this from?

[–]AudioBlink 9 points10 points ago

It looks like Léon (The Professional). Great movie by Luc Besson. Natalie Portman's first movie! And of course Mr. Oldman plays the villain.

[–]Hyperdrunk 3 points4 points ago

Terrific movie. It was one of the first violent movies I watched growing up so I have a tendency to overrate it.... but I still think it's great.

[–]widarlein 1 point2 points ago

Gary Oldman is the bad guy in Léon?! Dude, I really have to watch that movie again.

[–]Shutup_Wesley 0 points1 point ago

Yep he's a DEA baddie

[–]meggawat[Severus Rogue] 0 points1 point ago

What is he saying?

[–]pikip 1 point2 points ago

"EVERYONE"

[–]savvy422 -1 points0 points ago

This just made my night, possibly my life. You sir are fabulous up votes for all!

[–]princessdragon0 -1 points0 points ago

Haha perfect. This is what I tell them also.

[–]WhattheMel -1 points0 points ago

This is perfect

[–]arielmayer -3 points-2 points ago

What do you know of death, summer child?

[–]saints_chyc -1 points0 points ago

Don't think I have ever laughed so loudly at any gif that I have ever seen!!! Amazing post.

[–]Phantoom -1 points0 points ago

“What do you know about death? Death is for the winter, when the snows fall a hundred feet deep. Death is for the Long Night, when the White Walkers move through the woods. When the sun hides for years, and children are born and live and die all in darkness. That is the time for death, my lord.”

[–]Meganheartt -2 points-1 points ago

That scared me.. But so true! Lol

[–]Laeryken -3 points-2 points ago

What are you talking about? Only a couple of people die who it isn't obvious will die.
