the woman on the left chooses to wear that, she is not forced to

[–]DundonianDude 1 point2 points ago

"chooses" to wear that, its not like media forces it down their throats to dress and want to be like that. The difference is Media or religion...

The difference is that the woman on the right faces severe criminal penalties if she not only does not dress like that, but also acts outside of "normal" conduct for a woman.

Society may not like the woman that puts no effort into her appearance, but we're not going to make her share her breastmilk with any adult male she wishes to be in the same room with.

What? Do you have any clue of what you're talking about or is this just prejudices without any serious relyable source?

[–]Melissu[S] 0 points1 point ago

well, that is obviously fake.

[–]Trodamus 0 points1 point ago

Oh yes, clearly fake for reasons you've declined to provide.

media is media, you wont get stoned to death for choosing not to wear something in western society like you would in the islamic society. (well maybe not any more, but there would be criminal repercussions).

The issue of punishment is only in the extremist Islamic nations, but in the lesser Islamic states what women wear is a choice. Correct me if im wrong but to my knowledge Pakistan is such an Islamic state, even some of the UAE states have varying levels of dress "suitable for women" to my knowledge its rarely Burka or death. Furthermore you wont get stoned to death in the West, rather you become entombed in a mental hell of needing to look better, needing to dress better, needing the superficial approval of people you dont know because of the social norms and media. All i was suggesting was my interpretation of the comic in question "oppression is a matter of perspective".

Omg people here don't know shit about islam. It reminds me of the antisemites right before WW2. But now it's muslims

It's different ways of cultures oppressing women. Different, but the bottom line is the same

[–]thatguysammo 0 points1 point ago

its not our fault when women oppress themselves with fashion.. if its men oppressing them then ok, but I dont think it is

[–]Melissu[S] 0 points1 point ago

Yes it is. Men runs the industry. They earn big money from womens bad self confidence
