Not keen on a random hookup?

lol

[–]chris_cobra 1 point2 points ago

of course the atheist was skeptical of meeting jesus, I wouldn't waste my time meeting an invisible friend either.

[–]Mr_Subtlety 1 point2 points ago

Actually a random hookup with Jesus might be pretty nice. Just so long as he doesn't get overly attached...

This is so annoying, it's not even funny. Why would you post this on r/atheism? It's not even a debate or an interesting point, it's just "I like bugging atheists".

Please stop trying to introduce atheists to your imaginary friend, it's like a pestering 4 year-old that wants adults to meet his space cowboy buddy.

Calm down, it's a joke...

Leave humour to the jews, you aren't cut out for it.

[–]Ranuu 16 points17 points ago

I thought it was pretty good. Honestly, this forum has a ton of the opposite situation, with atheists trolling Christians, so it's interesting to see someone get us back once in a while :P

[–]Residual_Entropy -1 points0 points ago

Guess we have different taste in humour. If I wanted to see theists trying to spread the word of god, I would go to a religious subreddit instead.

Really, I get the point, but this is supposed to be a place for atheists to hang out, not Christians talking about how they troll their atheist friends.

His name is Jesus Christ and he's changed my life in so many ways

Ughhh, bollocks like that is the reason that I stay away from the christianity subreddit. It's so sickly, almost makes me feel ill. I don't want to see it on here. Please.

[–]Ranuu 2 points3 points ago

Well, 99.9% of the threads in this subreddit are for you then. This was just one thread. No harm done, really.

Your post: "I'm never going to /r/Christianity again"

"Oh sweet flying spaghetti monster. They just blow everything out of proportion, a mere inquiry is an abusive, offensive, persecuting statement of atheist baby-eating hatred in their eyes. I just can't deal with people who spin everything around like that. I'm never visiting r/Christianity again. Their world views are just so warped, they are beyond help. It sickens me. Just don't go there. They are delusional, and there's nothing you can do. You've been warned."

You just blew that joke WAY out of proportion you damn hypocrite.

You're the worst kind of atheist, and you're a douchebag.

Edit: Added "douchebag"

[–]Residual_Entropy -1 points0 points ago

Hmm, what? That post is from ages ago. I don't see your point, or the relevance of bringing an old post out of context. What's the correlation here?

Surprise surprise, I don't like religion and I don't hang out on r/christianity. Hardly shocking news. But still, call me a douchebag and "the worst kind of atheist" all you want if it makes you feel better about whatever's rustled your jimmies.

[–]Itslikeaparadox -1 points0 points ago

Just because you don't believe in god doesn't give you the right to be a whiny bitch. This is /r/atheism, not /r/anti-theism.

A man posts something funny and you get all bent out of shape like its some sort of religious propaganda trying to convert you or something.

Us real atheists try and spread the word of tolerance and you go around being a douche nozzle to everyone who has a different opinion than you. You're giving us a bad name.

[–]Residual_Entropy -1 points0 points ago

Nice fallacy there. You don't understand the simplest cornerstones of logic, and you're throwing around stock middleschool phrases about tolerance.

Let the adults talk, please. This is just embarrassing.

[–]Mr_Subtlety 0 points1 point ago

In all fairness, 99% of what's on r/atheism is "I like bugging Christians."

I think most atheists can appreciate a little good-natured trolling by their Christian friends, to keep things in perspective. OP knows he's not going to convert anyone, he's just messing with his bud.

"Fuck you."

defriend

I've had friends like this. They're only half-joking.

[–]SGSXR11 0 points1 point ago

A similar situation happened to me a few years ago. A roommate asked the rest of us if we were interested in going out for a "free breakfast" one Sunday morning, which of course was code for "church then over to a member's house."

[–]JimboDeSarasate 0 points1 point ago

The atheist should bring the Christian friend out to meet his good friend Kelly, but then just talk to an empty chair all night. If the Christian friend doesn't acknowledge Kelly's existence, the atheist should get really upset.
