Then you realize the past 2 days have been the weekend.

[–]Tashre 21 points22 points ago

And then you check it Monday morning: Out for Delivery

[–]burntham77 16 points17 points ago

"Out for delivery" are the three best words ever.

[–]kehrk[S] 13 points14 points ago

Sometimes I get scared when I see "Delivered" and it's still not there when I get home.

[–]ewilliam 4 points5 points ago

Especially when it's FedEx. Oftentimes, FedEx Ground uses outside contractors for drivers, and those guys are a small step up from cadavers in the intelligence and "give a shit" departments. I work in a building with 3 stories, maybe 10 or 12 tenants. I get most of my deliveries sent here, because it's easier and then they don't sit outside. Well, one time, the dumbass contract driver delivered all the packages for all the tenants in our building to one single tenant downstairs. My package was temp and time sensitive (brewer's yeast), so when I saw the "delivered" status but no package, I got worried. Called FedEx, the local manager admitted that the driver was an outside contractor and that "those guys aren't always on the ball" (ha, no shit), and suggested I go to some of the other tenants in the building and see if they were there. Well, after a few knocks on doors, I walk into the tenant's space downstairs to find a big pile of packages, and the guy was bewildered, as many of them were for other tenants.

Ugh, fuck FedEx Ground.

I live in one house on top of a small mountain.

I don't worry about shit haha.

[–]ewilliam 1 point2 points ago

Except the fire department getting there before your house is completely gone :p

[–]kehrk[S] 1 point2 points ago

Actually there's 2 fire stations very close to my house, and it doesn't take that long to get there.

[–]ewilliam 1 point2 points ago

Do you ever get the vaunted "unable to locate address" crap? I live in an urban setting, and they've pulled that with me before.

[–]kehrk[S] 0 points1 point ago

If that's the case, you should contact the vendor. They probably fucked up somewhere between verifying your address and actually making sure it was going there.

[–]OfficialVerification 1 point2 points ago

Fuck FedEx too. Last time they broke the product I bought, refused to pay up. Fortunately the seller is okay to send a new one to me. FUCK FedEx.

[–]ewilliam 0 points1 point ago

My other favorite is how they sometimes mark my packages with "could not locate address", even though my house is in an established urban/suburban neighborhood, easily found with gmaps/mapquest/garmin/etc., and most of the time the UPS/Fedex guys have no problems, but once in awhile, some lugnut just figures "fuck it, that shit is at the end of my route, and I really just wanna go have a beer, so I'mma mark it 'could not locate'." Once they pulled that shit for 3 days in a row, despite me calling FedEx and telling them that my house is about as easy to find as any house out there. Pathetic.

[–]ratmeleon 1 point2 points ago

I thought it'd be "Delivered"

[–]kehrk[S] 0 points1 point ago

"Out for Delivery" means that the package is ready to leave its final location before arriving to your house. It's essentially in the loading bay, going onto a delivery truck.

[–]ratmeleon 0 points1 point ago

Which is why I would think seeing "Delivered" would be the best word ever.

That means that the package is at your front door, ready for you to pick up and do nasty things to. No need to wait for some delivery driver to pick it up from a loading bay, and put it onto a truck, and drive it around all day till it gets to your house.

[–]burntham77 0 points1 point ago

Three best words ever while at work.

[–]kn33ch41_ 7 points8 points ago

I'm going on five here.

People tell me it's silly that I keep opting for next day shipping. This is exactly why I do it. :D

[–]wilze221 11 points12 points ago

Whoa hoh, Mr 1% over here

[–]joewhyit 4 points5 points ago

Hahah, yeah, with how much ramen I eat, I think not.

[–]kehrk[S] 0 points1 point ago

Golden rebuttal

[–]joewhyit 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, if only it weren't so close to the truth, lol.

[–]reject654 4 points5 points ago

Haha try living abroad where you can never be sure where your package is.

[–]Salger12 1 point2 points ago

I lost a valuable record and I was pissed.

[–]kehrk[S] 4 points5 points ago

My high school best friend/girlfriend/fuckbuddy bought me a signed Ride the Lightning record for my 16th birthday.

It was broken when it showed up.

Mail carriers are assholes.

[–]ScreamingAloudInside 1 point2 points ago

I know that feeling. Usually orders on free delivery from Amazon come pretty quickly, long before the delivery estimate. That whole Queen jubilee thing made my last order come seven days after the estimate ._.

[–]iamshalin 0 points1 point ago

You are being too kind.

[–]Solierboix 0 points1 point ago

Yesterday i bought a Galaxy s3 on auction, paid for it, and called the guy to give him some info. He said that it's not his smarthphone, then he said that i should call his friend. I called him and he asked me if im interesed in some billiard table C_c. I needed to say him that i bought s3 from him and stuff. First day of waiting, but im nervous already. ..

[–]fookdook 0 points1 point ago

I really wish there as an option to opt out of signing for packages. Who is home nowadays to sign for that stuff. Then it gets sent to the post office, which closes at 5pm. Who has time to go grab this stuff??

[–]kehrk[S] 0 points1 point ago

I seriously never have to sign for packages.

[–]tythelist 0 points1 point ago

I ordered parts to build a new PC on thursday and the tracker said "in transit to Jacksonville" since Friday morning. The parts should have arrived by Late Friday night.

[–]kehrk[S] 0 points1 point ago

I'd not trip over it. Usually if it's in the mailing system already, you're safe.

It's before and after package tracking that you need to worry.

[–]tythelist 1 point2 points ago

I've been a little more on edge about from this damn tropical storm that I've been sitting through the last three days.

[–]TheMagicBurro 0 points1 point ago

Whenever I order anything they have it sitting at a shipping center about 5 blocks away from my house for. three. days.

[–]Doctalen 0 points1 point ago

This UPS driver recently delivered my book to the wrong Address (How hard is it to read the big addy numbers on the houses?) and the only reason I got it was because the girl that lived there walked it down to our house. I'm now paranoid about anything UPS is carrying for me from Amazon. Luckily USPS are the ones carrying my newest package.

[–]tlennon 0 points1 point ago

The USPS has been really behind on updating their shipping status lately

[–]Markymark36 -1 points0 points ago

BBT gif? nope.

[–]soundsintheattic -1 points0 points ago

This must be what the people I ship my ebay items to look like. "Where is it!! It must be your fault!" "When I buy from OnlineCrapmart.com get my stuff in 2 days with free shipping, WTF man!!" Yes, I'm sorry I'm not a faceless corporate organization that hires people at bottom dollar to fulfill your need to buy shit and ship it for free, but real people live out here in the sticks so it may take a while. Take a pill.
