As a little clarification: when confronted with dingos or predators and no other way of escaping, kangooroos will wade out into nearby deep waters and pretend they are struggling. This will oftentimes entice the predator to follow them into the water for an easy kill. The twist being that kangooroos are actually fairly good swimmers and do this specifically so they can then hold the predator's head under water and drown them after having lured them out into the deep.

tl;dr: this kangooroo is trying to fucking MURDER you.

Hahahaha, best use of that meme I've seen in quite some time :D

[–]cheapdvds 0 points1 point ago

For some reason I thought the kangaroo is asking a time off so he can take a shit first before you chase him to the sea.

How would a Kangaroo's swimming abilities stack up against a human? As we too, are fairly good swimmers. I would think we'd have a slight advantage in being able to purposely dive deeper in order to force it to either let go or drown with us.

Yes, I'm basically asking who would win in an aquatic deathmatch between a Roo and a Hu.

[–]Moongrazer 25 points26 points ago

Interesting strategy! I have no clue how they would weigh up against a human, but I think an important factor to remember is that while they're pushing you down, they're probably also kicking and mauling at you with their hideously powerful hind legs below the waterline...

[–]monkeiboi 11 points12 points ago

Lends more credence to the tactic of pulling them under with you and seeing whose aerobic system is more efficient

[–]Placenta_smoothie 8 points9 points ago

Claws win

[–]FeierInMeinHose 6 points7 points ago

Sharks win.

[–]CheezeburgerTroll 0 points1 point ago

Dolphins win....rape caves

[–]BoringUsername1 6 points7 points ago

DOLPHINS WIN! About damn time...

[–]noname-_- 13 points14 points ago

I think our key hunting abilities are endurance and intellect. So the best thing to do would probably be to just wait until he's exhausted and have to swim back to shore. Should be a pretty easy kill.

[–]RubberDong 8 points9 points ago

I think we are horrible swimmers. Tiny fish, big fish, dogs, fat dogs, elephants...they all swim faster than us.

[–]pilvy 23 points24 points ago

Holy shit....elephants have snorkels.

[–]nickminunni 6 points7 points ago

Woah

[–]cdbaker 4 points5 points ago

passes joint

[–]aaegler 0 points1 point ago

We have a very good ability to dive though, and deep as well.

[–]monkeiboi 0 points1 point ago

I would contest that dogs can swim faster than humans. Regardless of that, we can swim longer, and we can swim under.

[–]-3- 14 points15 points ago

How would a Kangaroo's swimming abilities stack up against a human?

The London Olympics are suddenly looking better for Australia. Phelps better watch out.

[–]HaMMeReD 2 points3 points ago

They can stand on their tail, so they probably don't need to even swim much until it gets really deep.

[–]latticusnon 3 points4 points ago

Depends. Is the human black?

[–]Ragnalypse 10 points11 points ago

If he is, he'd be crazy to go in. He's a terrible swimmer, but can outrun and outjump the kangaroo on land.

[–]mangarooboo 0 points1 point ago

Are we... awake?

[–]awox 0 points1 point ago

Considering the roo will likely open your stomach or at the very least knock the wind out of you with his roo feet.. it's not looking good for the hus.

[–]nikoliko66 9 points10 points ago

sons of bitches

[–]Nightst0ne 5 points6 points ago

Nature is fucking hardcore

[–]IonOtter 4 points5 points ago

Jesus Christ, Australia?!?

I can understand something butt-ugly like a Funnel-web spider, or something pissed-off mean like a Brown Snake trying to kill you. I can even accept an intelligent, predatory jellyfish (the Irukanji and Box Jellies have been shown to hunt their prey), or a venomous platypus.

But even the cute things try to kill you? What's next? Deadly venomous mice???

[–]underattack86 6 points7 points ago

Not just kill, fuckin' drown. The cute things want to watch the life fade from your eyes as the saltwater shreds your lungs.

[–]TheSleepingNinja 0 points1 point ago

I don't have a venomous mouse, but I have a poisonous rat.

[–]koppck 0 points1 point ago

read as poisonous fart, was impressed.

[–]GiantWhaleCannon 5 points6 points ago

Clever. I don't give marsupials enough credit, apparently.

[–]thescrapplekid 2 points3 points ago

Whew...I thought it was some sort of Kangaroo suicide

[–]beatboxrevolution 1 point2 points ago

Literally Lol'ed at that tl;dr. Lmao

[–]CodyOdi 1 point2 points ago

I tried finding a video on YouTube of this happening... I failed.

[–]villain717 1 point2 points ago

You win the best comment award for the day, grats!

[–]exkon 2 points3 points ago

Damn nature you scary!

[–]iamtheowlman 0 points1 point ago

The kangaroo 'procures' for dolphin gang-rapes, luring people into the deep water. No one's sure what the kangaroo gets out of it.

[–]underattack86 1 point2 points ago

That's a hilarious concept.

[–]Kryten_2X4B-523P 0 points1 point ago

I feel like you are lieing to me.

[–]Wolfman87 -1 points0 points ago

Imagine having to fight a kangaroo that is trying to drown you. I wonder if it can kick effectively while swimming or if I could punch it in the head to any effect.

[–]munge_me_not -1 points0 points ago

Fuck this kangaroo. Let's get him!

[–]motorhead84 -1 points0 points ago

I just read that in my best Crocodile Dundee accent.

[–]olgrandad -1 points0 points ago

[–]Ace1999 -1 points0 points ago

[–]Firasissex -2 points-1 points ago

DAMN NATURE, you scary!

"If we were in the wild, I would attack you. Even if you weren't in my food chain, I would go out of my way to attack you. If I were a kangaroo, and you were a tuna, I would swim out in the middle of the ocean and freaking eat you! And then I'd bang your tuna girlfriend."

[–]Blayer32 6 points7 points ago

Upvote for "The Other Guys"!

[–]Auster92 1 point2 points ago

"Ok, first off, a kangaroo? Swimming in the ocean? kangaroos don’t like water! If you placed it near a river or some sort of fresh water source, that makes sense. But you find yourself in the ocean, 20 foot waves (I’m assuming it’s off the coast of South Africa). Going up against a full grown 800-pound tuna with his 20 or 30 friends? You lose that battle. You lose that battle 9 times out of 10. Well guess what? You’ve wandered into a school of tuna and we now have a taste of kangaroo! We’ve talked to ourselves. We’ve communicated. And I said, ‘You know what?! kangaroo tastes good! Lets go get some more kangaroo!’ We’ve developed a system: to establish a beachhead and to aggressively hunt you and your family. And we will corner you and your, your pride, your children"

[–]BigBadAl 0 points1 point ago

"How you gonna do that?"

[–]Auster92 1 point2 points ago

“We will construct a series of breathing apparatus with kelp! We will be able to track certain amounts of oxygen. It’s not gonna be days at a time. An hour? Hour 45? No problem! That’ll give us enough time to figure out where you live, go back to the sea, get more oxygen, and then stalk you. You just lost in your own game. You’re outdone and outmanned……….Did that go the way you thought it was gonna go? …..NOPE.”

[–]CheeseAttack 1 point2 points ago

was it kangaroo? I thought it was something like a lion

[–]BigBadAl 2 points3 points ago

Nope. After looking carefully at the pictures it's definitely a Kangaroo.

[–]CheeseAttack 9 points10 points ago

Ah, the ol' reddit kangaroo

"I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome."

[–]dagoff 11 points12 points ago

"That's an endangered species at most. What would be the scientific purpose of killing it?" "...Revenge."

[–]Apf4 4 points5 points ago

"How do you plan to kill this shark?"

"I'm not sure yet, maybe dynamite."

I'm gonna miss that kangaroo.

[–]Contradiction11 0 points1 point ago

If you believe the top comment, the kangaroo is employing a technique to kill opponents, not swimming away or committing suicide.

Every year thousands of kangaroos are inspired by great fables of the past that there is a land overseas full of juicy vegetation and free of rabbits. Every year thousands of kangaroos bravely dive into dangerous waters to discover and colonize that land, which name, Antarctica, is sweet to every kangaroo ear.

Johnny Utah at last gets Bodhi, but it's too late because Johnny's already felt touched by surfing lifestyle, and realizes there's no way Bodhi can deal with a cage, as well as himself. So Johnny gives up and lets him go to get his last wave, in the name of their freedom...
