Kid's heard this story before. Older than the Calamity itself.

Doesn't change a thing though. Just hits him harder each time.

'Course, it ain't hard for the Kid to relate, losing his mama like that.

[–]Rnmkr 116 points117 points ago

You.... we like you.

[–]neagrosk 15 points16 points ago

When I opened the gif I instantly knew it was this story again... but somehow his comment it just suddenly had a much deeper meaning despite having seen it at least twice before. Hands down most productive/content enhancing novelty account.

[–]SorkenTheMeh 118 points119 points ago

I'm searching through my pockets and all around my house, but I seem to have run out of upvotes and respect to give you....

[–]SorkenTheMeh 2 points3 points ago

Fer Pete's sake people! I meant the Bastion Narrator, not the original post...

[–]camezac2 71 points72 points ago

When I read that, I read it in the voice.

[–]Am_I_Annoying 38 points39 points ago

I CAN'T GET THESE FUCKING VOICES OUT OF MY HEAD!

[–]Numbah8 1 point2 points ago

This guy gets it!

[–]rix0r 1 point2 points ago

I didn't even see his user name before I read it and I read it in his voice. Possibly because I am currently playing Bastion and he started it with 'Kid'. And italics. Bravo!

[–]thejiujitsupanda 32 points33 points ago

Dude, you're like Morgan Freeman 2.0.

[–]spazmodic- 4 points5 points ago

Did someone just mention Morgan Freeman 2.0?

[–]PandaGodfather 1 point2 points ago

"He ran for 3 days to escape"

[–]Panopticon01 9 points10 points ago

Shit. An epic comment. Respect.

[–]backflippingbears 10 points11 points ago

You're awesome.

[–]highwindscloud 6 points7 points ago

Wow. That made me give a shit about this comic once more. Thanks Narrator of Bastion

[–]Aristeia88 1 point2 points ago

One of the best novelty accounts of all time plus one story I always love to hear.

[–]Curtalius 1 point2 points ago

Thank you for putting my sentiments into a form so awesome i never could match.

[–]rakimallah 1 point2 points ago

Wait, I thought the Calamity happened like right before the game started. So, not very old then.

[–]montyy123 5 points6 points ago

I don't know why, but I heard that in the narrator's voice of the Big Lebowski.

[–]SrsSteel 1 point2 points ago

My favorite post of yours so far

[–]vonmon2 12 points13 points ago

You really couldn't just write out "too"?

[–]LeeTlmn 4 points5 points ago

He used all of his good typing karma capitalizing "Bastion" and "Fucking."

[–]HomerJunior 6 points7 points ago

Great Story 2: Electric Boogaloo.

[–]High_Vizier_Dan 99 points100 points ago

[–]Savrola 69 points70 points ago

Thank you. I hate these gifs that make me read at a certain pace.

[–]open_ur_mind 13 points14 points ago

I'm a slow reader too. :(

[–]mariamus 1 point2 points ago

I have the opposite problem.

[–]EasilyRemember 20 points21 points ago

This has been posted so many times, and every time it gets posted, people point out that it's most likely not true per se, but rather inspired by the "mom" character from the game who would periodically give the player gifts, just as the mom in the comic does.

Look, I love this message, and it has stayed with me since the first time I read this comic. By no means do I wish to belittle the importance of cherishing family, having perspective/empathy, unconditional love, etc. But this comic bothers me because it's almost surely not true in the strictest sense of the word, and people exploit it anyway, whether or not they even realize it.

[–]BadlyDrawnRhino 10 points11 points ago

Why does it matter if it is true or not? The message is not any less important if it's entirely fictional. It's important to not take your loved ones for granted. Not just your parents, but everybody you care about. We all forget to tell people how much they mean to us. Sometimes we're just too preoccupied with other things. I can't see how it is at all exploitative to put something out there that reminds us of the things that truly matter.

[–]EasilyRemember 4 points5 points ago

I would rather put a post on the front page that simply says "don't forget to tell your family you love them while you still can," or maybe with some personal anecdotes and such, than a warped repost of a false story. Being a repost in and of itself isn't a huge deal to me, but this has been changed to a gif for some stupid reason, making it less readable. Furthermore, the OP didn't credit the author, or even make it clear that it wasn't original content. That to me is less deserving of being on the front page than something earnest and original. I don't care about karma as a means of "keeping score," but I do care about it as a means of regulating content. Again, I absolutely support the message, but that doesn't mean I have to support the method of delivering it.

[–]1234blahblahblah 2 points3 points ago

When you said "original" I thought you meant it. :(

(The comic was probably in Korean ORIGINALLY and then translated to English.)

[–]theVice 124 points125 points ago

.......don't you get letters from your mom in Animal Crossing automatically? ...ooohh...

[–]Mysterious_Andy 17 points18 points ago

Her mother actually died in childbirth, and she’s coped by creating a fantasy “mom”. She attributes the Animal Crossing presents to this mother in order to make the figment feel more real.

The bit about polio and MS justifies (to her) why her school friends never met her mom.

  • M. K. S.

[–]1fromUK 1 point2 points ago

Amazingly I read that as if the mother died whilst being born which confused me.

[–]dedem13 1 point2 points ago

[–]smintitule 34 points35 points ago

I'm always shocked that nobody thinks of this.

[–]McPhage 43 points44 points ago

...except for the people that bring it up, every time...

[–]frodob 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, but the in-game mom is really whacky and non-sequitor. My mum and I played animal crossing together, too, and I can certainly tell apart my real mum's letters from the AI mom's. Most telling is the fact that my real mum's name in the game is not "Mom"...

[–]croccington[!] 1 point2 points ago

Dammit, I came here to ruin the magic too. Yes, you get automatic letters from your in-game characters' mother, with presents.

So...Yeah....

[–]Nekomancerr[S] 8 points9 points ago

Even if you do, the emotional impact of remembering your mom's love is important!

[–]brynms 3 points4 points ago

my favourite part about this is when the kid who wrote the comic logs in again later and finds that his mum has been sending him more presents FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE!

[–]Omnitographer 10 points11 points ago

Sometimes this comes up, it always gets voted up, eventually someone mentions that the kid may have just been ignorant of the games mechanics, others retort that he would have known about "mom" and distinguished it from his real mom, and so on. either way, its a good story.

[–]Cupcakes_n_Hacksaws 1 point2 points ago

Maybe her character's name was her real name?

[–]stash0606 4 points5 points ago

being a year old account, i can confirm this.

[–]Kenealy 1 point2 points ago

I feel bad for this being my first thought when I had seen where this was going...

[–]jman3691 52 points53 points ago

[–]EasilyRemember 6 points7 points ago

Holy shit, funniest thing I've seen online all month. Thank you for this. Nice to a see a fresh spin on this recycled content.

Does anyone know the piano song used in the first half of the sequence? EDIT: Found it. It's called "Skies Above" and it's from Final Fantasy X, in case anyone else is interested.

[–]jurble 2 points3 points ago

Nice to a see a fresh spin on this recycled content.

The YTMND is 5 years old. It's as fresh as something not very fresh at all.

[–]Farisr9k 1 point2 points ago

How have I not seen this before?

Fucking. Brilliant.

[–]UtterBastard 1 point2 points ago

CONCUR'D

[–]darkhawk1005 197 points198 points ago

You just took the repost and reposted it as a GIF

[–]TimMitchell 53 points54 points ago

Yeah, this is getting ridiculous. This is pretty fucking old.

[–]Minotaur_in_house 37 points38 points ago

I have seen it, and everytime I do I upvote and call my mom.

Sometimes the repost is worth it.

[–]DrBoon_forgot_his_pw 84 points85 points ago

I hadn't seen it before and I found it quite moving. It may surprise you, but evertime something is reposted and makes some headway, it's usually because the people voting for it haven't seen it before.

[–]ashraf2403 16 points17 points ago

I think the people that see all these re-posts spend to much time on reddit.

It was moving to me too.

[–]WiiMachinE 3 points4 points ago

I don't even think it's that. I spend tonnes of time on reddit and I see something about reposts on just about every single submission. I think that since there are quite a few people on reddit you probably wont' submit something that no one has seen before. It will probably be just you and the people that upvoted you. If it bothers them so much just downvote. If more people upvote it then more people haven't seen it.

[–]Nekomancerr[S] 2 points3 points ago

... I was not aware that it was a repost, but many haven't seen it yet since it was posted long ago! Let the new people or people that missed see it! :)

[–]Coupe63 54 points55 points ago

I haven't seen it before, or even heard the story... it touched me though... made me cry a little (and yes, I'm a big tough trucker guy)...

thing is, I lost my mom to cancer 2 weeks before my 17th birthday... stuff like this gets to me and makes me realize that even now, almost 24 years later, she still means the world to me...

I, for one don't care that this is a repost (and I have even done my share of bitching about reposts)... it's gonna be new to someone... and sometimes, it will do some good too...

[–]Nekomancerr[S] 12 points13 points ago

Thank you!

[–]LaughingFlame 1 point2 points ago

there's a brother. have a hug.

[–]SoundsLikeCoffee 9 points10 points ago

I've seen this before, and it still gets me, thank you for reminding me of a great story :)

[–]GeminiLife 15 points16 points ago

I'm sad to see you're getting downvoted in the comments. I hope it doesn't discourage you; some people are dicks.

Thank you for sharing this, even though it's not your personal story. I teared up a bit.

[–]Nekomancerr[S] 6 points7 points ago

Thank you!

[–]Miltrivd 10 points11 points ago

I hadn't seen it before an I enjoyed it. Hit me closer than you might think. Thanks for the repost.

Everyday that passes, I'm disgusted with this whole karma whoring stuff, people trying to pass as theirs things others have made and people searching around to yell "repost! repost!". You did it the right way.

[–]Nekomancerr[S] 0 points1 point ago

Thank you.

[–]Sk3tchbox 7 points8 points ago

Thank you. I haven't seen this either.

[–]IAmLamby 8 points9 points ago

Who cares. It was my first time seeing it, and i liked it a lot.

[–]doug 1 point2 points ago

Or ripped the gif from YTMND.

[–]Bigman1992 125 points126 points ago

I am in tears right now. I'm unashamed to say this, I walked up to my mom, hugged her, told her a that I am sorry for when I am a dick and that her and I will begin to work on our issues because I don't want her to think I am ungrateful. I then started to bawl in her arms. So, as a guy that has a few issues with his mother and held resentment, I thank you for helping me with my view. Edit: Even if this is a repost, it still doesn't take away from how it impacted me.

[–]willtodd 32 points33 points ago

Exactly. Screw people bickering about reposts.

[–]Bigman1992 2 points3 points ago

My thoughts exactly.

[–]sergregor 2 points3 points ago

My thoughts exactly.

[–]Quipster99 2 points3 points ago

Also, just sayin, those letters were from the in-game characters mom... In animal crossing, your "mom" would send you letters and gifts occasionally since you were living all on your own.

In any case, it's still good to love ones parents.

[–]WenieWaggler 1 point2 points ago

Lost my mom in a wreck last month. I think I'm a year older than you judging by your username. Whatever problems you have with your mom, they mean nothing. Things can change very quickly. Cherish your time with her while you can.

[–]Bigman1992 1 point2 points ago

Exactly my thoughts. I am so sorry for your lost, my friend.

[–]thet3d 1 point2 points ago

Seriously. This immediately made me start bawling. Fuck you dad! I LOVE YOU MOM!

[–]Bigman1992 2 points3 points ago

Yes! Who needs a dad :P

[–]Teath123 2 points3 points ago

I remember seeing this gif on 4chan around 4 years ago. I've been seeing it a lot lately. No idea why it keeps springing up.

[–]valerik 13 points14 points ago

lik dis if u cry everytim

[–]nosut 24 points25 points ago

This is a great story. You should put it up front that this is not your personal experience however.

[–]Nekomancerr[S] 0 points1 point ago

I realized that a moment after I posted it. Kinda just passed my mind! I corrected myself right away in the comments! Thanks!

[–]merkk 2 points3 points ago

just a suggestion to whoever made this - make it into a web page instead of animated gif in case anyone blinks while watching it ;p

[–]bk21162 2 points3 points ago

That's what is crazy about parents. We can never know what it means to love someone until we have children of our owns. I'm glad you found happiness in that.

[–]IamGrimReefer 2 points3 points ago

at least your changed the format of this repost....

[–]reeferologist 2 points3 points ago

Ugh, I just recovered from the seizure I suffered the first time I saw this. Thanks reposter!

[–]TautologyJB 2 points3 points ago

I had not seen this before. I lost my mom to cancer recently...the onions. So many onions.

[–]erey13 2 points3 points ago

Crying now. Truth to this.

[–]kingofthemoose 2 points3 points ago

Reeeeeepoooooossstttt

[–]sergregor 2 points3 points ago

This is so fucking old that even my parents have seen it. And my parents are dead!

[–]tjb0607 2 points3 points ago

Relevant for those that are tired of this repost.

[–]sephsta 2 points3 points ago

/r/Gaming's top reposted comic 2012 award.

[–]Floattube 2 points3 points ago

I'm tired of seeing this.

[–]Sk3tchbox 8 points9 points ago

This brought a tear to my eye. I also lost my mom several years ago. I often reinstall some of her favorite games, just to reminesce... She was a huge Dungeon Siege, Neverwinter Nights and FFXI player. I really miss those days, man. I remember lanning with her, fighting over item drops...

Thank you for this touching post.

[–]ElderBass 8 points9 points ago

Great, now I have to buy a new computer because I just flooded my keyboard with tears...

A joke, I wouldn't be able to type this obviously.

Anyway, I can relate, man. My mom has had Parkinson's disease for two years and I have done a lot of research on the disease and I've learned that it's good for you to move your fingers and right hand as much as possible to promote the release of dopamine as much as possible. So once my mom got an iPad, I told her to download Angry Birds and showed her how to play, even though I personally do not care for the game at all. She has since become addicted and plays the game all the time. That makes me happy :)

Edit: Didn't realize this was a repost. Still glad I shared my story

[–]oriehd 1 point2 points ago

I'm sorry to hear that. Getting her to use an ipad is a great idea! My mom played the piano as long as she could.

On a more sober note, you're in for a long, tough ride. My only piece of advice is that when the time comes for your family to make a tough decision, keep her quality of life in mind above all else. Hopefully medical science will make some breakthroughs in this area soon.

[–]ElderBass 1 point2 points ago

I'm hoping that as well, and I'm actually working to help make a breakthrough in my own small way. I work in a research lab, trying to see if this protein called Ciliary Neurotrophic Factor (CNTF) has any theraputic and preventative effects on stem cells that will be differentiated, as well as astrocytes (if overexpressed in astrocytes, CNTF could help prevent the destruction of dopaminergic neurons). Might sound complicated but it's not really lol I'm just an undergrad so it's nothing real groundbreaking but I like to think I am helping out.

[–]oriehd 1 point2 points ago

Good luck! This is one of those diseases that I would be glad to see the human race rid of. This and dementia/alzheimers.

[–]ElderBass 1 point2 points ago

Agreed. Any sort of neurodegenerative disease, really. I think people should die as themselves and not only half of their self or something different from what they were because of damaged neurons. Thanks for the support though!

[–]oriehd 1 point2 points ago

Couldn't agree more.

[–]RepostThatShit 1 point2 points ago

now I have to buy a new computer because I just flooded my keyboard

I take it you work for Geek Squad.

[–]BlaqkJak 3 points4 points ago

I just read this as a story a couple days ago, not on Reddit, some random gaming site. It's sad. But in a good way.

[–]Them1stocles 6 points7 points ago

I've never cried so hard on the inside

[–]KoolAidPenguin 1 point2 points ago

That really hit home :(

[–]ithinkbackwards 1 point2 points ago

Respect.

[–]Zaszolo 1 point2 points ago

I don't care if this is a repost. It made my eyes well a bit.

Time to call both my mothers.

[–]snap_wilson 1 point2 points ago

An oldie but a goodie. Still gets me every time.

[–]opiatetime 1 point2 points ago

This made me tear up...

[–]Nosferatu13 1 point2 points ago

Would like do donate 10000 upvotes. Do you accept?

[–]ButtonSmashing 1 point2 points ago

I manage to shut in all tears before I was about go burst out in tears.

[–]ArkThompson 1 point2 points ago

I think the most important thing to get out of this post is to love reddit while you can, before you have seen everything and then have to see nothing but reposts.

[–]Haxes 1 point2 points ago

I've seen this story before but, I just can't help upvoting every time it rolls around.

[–]dannywarbucks11 1 point2 points ago

This touched me so hard. I lost my aunt, uncle, Nana, and two cousins just last month, so I can really relate. They looked after me when my mom in the grip of drug use, my Nana was more of a mom to me than my mom was.

[–]lnickelly 1 point2 points ago

no no no no no no NO not gonna make me cry again reddit.

[–]Chompskyy 1 point2 points ago

Did you know that...

In-game a fictional Mom sends you presents every so often for events such as your birthday, with letters as well?

[–]ZeBaron 1 point2 points ago

So tragic.

May she rest in peace.

[–]toughbananas974 1 point2 points ago

This almost made me cry. It was beautiful. I'm so sorry for your loss, I know your pain. Thanks for posting.

Edit: I hadn't realised this wasn't your work. Either way, still a great post. My condolences to the original author of the comic.

[–]Awps 1 point2 points ago

Kind of teared up there... Cheers....

[–]Tiikirien 1 point2 points ago

Mom went to the hospital this AM, she's not going to make it. Then I saw this. Such a beautiful metaphor for how despite as kids we may not understand or value the things our parents do, they do it because they love us and are thinking about us. Thank you for posting this.

[–]digijin 1 point2 points ago

Making this a gif was a poor choice.

[–]crazymuffin147 1 point2 points ago

This is the most beautiful I've ever read in this subreddit

[–]andrewpurpleworm 1 point2 points ago

This is a realy touchig story

[–]Chocomeister 1 point2 points ago

This really is beautiful, thank you.

[–]RE1Do 1 point2 points ago

This actually kinda gave me chills.

I haven't talked to my folks in a while. I should fix that. Thanks for this.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

That was beautiful. I'm sorry about your mother. I'm sure she wanted to do all that she could for you. She must have loved you as a son :].big-e-hug

[–]SaentFu 1 point2 points ago

I'll never look at those livestock on Farmtown/Farmville the same way again...

[–]xKRx 1 point2 points ago

Oh come on I read this a while ago and cried. Now you made me cry again. It's so touching.

[–]Lostdreamer89 1 point2 points ago

This made me sad... It's true what they say... You never know what you have until you lose it.

[–]slc11082 1 point2 points ago

How long ago did this happen?

[–]gamerman217 1 point2 points ago

You can not possibly fathom the amount of fuck I give and wish that the world would give. Thank you for sharing this story.

[–]BootlegV 1 point2 points ago

How many times has this been reposted? Something on the order of like fifteen billion by now?

[–]crusher958427 1 point2 points ago

[–]sarahsaturday 1 point2 points ago

You know what? I had never seen this before. I'm not super emotional, and pretty much think everything sucks and is dumb, but this really touched me. I came to the comments, and every one is all fucking butthurt that this is a repost. Just enjoy it!

[–]Im_Utterly_Insane 1 point2 points ago

Watched this while listening to Dream On by Aerosmith, now I'm sad.

[–]whiterungaurd 1 point2 points ago

This about made me cry...

[–]Prone2Obbsessions 1 point2 points ago

darn now i am tearing up :'(

[–]DCSlick 1 point2 points ago

Good Lord this is posted more times than most memes. This should be a new meme. New meme is new meme.

[–]belil569 1 point2 points ago

This was posted in a text version like a year ago. Nice story though.

[–]scooterbeast 1 point2 points ago

I hate to be the one to point this out, but don't you get letters and presents from "Mom" in the game automatically? Not saying it isn't a nice story, but I think the author may not have realized that all those letters from Mom weren't from HIS mom, but from his character's mom.

[–]jaywillythe1st 1 point2 points ago

saw this in a 4chan baww thread. get me everytim....

[–]youngatheist 1 point2 points ago

so your dad fucked a chick in a wheelchair?

[–]RAGNOROK_1337 1 point2 points ago

I just called my dad crying to tell him I love him. He asked why I was crying and I told him, and he laughed and said he had to get back to work.

[–]Elmer-Glue 1 point2 points ago

You made me cry. e-hug

[–]tronn4 1 point2 points ago

Hey I'll make a gif of an old ass post of an even older game. Remember that cute one for a game system that sucked? Afterwards... PROFIT!

[–]youRheaDiSoNfirE 1 point2 points ago

Way to keep it respectful (and hilariously novel) - we all know it's a repost, and we should be okay with that

[–]JoshuaKallen 1 point2 points ago

Well that made me cry...

[–]God_is_b 1 point2 points ago

this bullshit again

[–]LE_GAME 1 point2 points ago

Was I the only one that thought something was going to pop out?

[–]holddat 1 point2 points ago

This is so old and has been posted all over the internet so many times that I literally feel nothing when seeing this.

[–]Cythos 1 point2 points ago

how many times has this been reposted?

[–]seannino 1 point2 points ago

When I was a kid my mom got hooked on Ms PacMan... She reminded me how much she loved me every time she played a game - every time she met her fate she'd throw the joystick at my head. RIP Ms Pacman

[–]joshuahardy95 1 point2 points ago

REPOST!!!

[–]BSaito 1 point2 points ago

I said it the last time this was posted and I'll say it again. This is a comic, let me read it like one. There is no reason for this to be a gif.

[–]Mixcoatl03 1 point2 points ago

You made me cry.

[–]Lasthuman 1 point2 points ago

aw man, this made me tear up a bit :s

[–]c2dj4boogie 1 point2 points ago

I don't mean to take away from this, but ... the game send you presents from a fictional "mom" every so often, and the message sounds like the sort of generic gibberish it would say. Anybody who has ever played this game is probably well aware of this. Given how this story is framed, it may have been concocted as a very elaborate trolling attempt.

[–]apath1a 0 points1 point ago

not this again, i see someone posting this every few months, i swear

[–]noble8301 0 points1 point ago

Blah blah blah, in game mom is my mom for realz! Quit reposting this made up shit story. Also, onions, so brave, lik dis if u cry evertim. Related

[–]shellwe 1 point2 points ago

Saw this a long time ago in comic form instead of gif, please keep it that way...

[–]Hoser117 1 point2 points ago

If I had a dollar for every time this was reposted in the time I've been a Redditor, I would have roughly $25.

well, here's another repost for you whiney jackasses... it was the reply I made to the OP further down the thread but it gets wiped out because his post explaining that it wasn't his story was downvoted below threshold and isn't readily seen...

Dammit I feel like an asshole now.

Suddenly, onions

[–]InnocentCarLover18 2 points3 points ago

I had never seen this before. Damn that's so sad, it almost made me cry. I haven't talked to my mom in 6 years but if she died I'd still be devastated. Thanks for the repost :)

[–]ActionJaxson 4 points5 points ago

Why are people complaining about this being old? I am fairly new to reddit and would never have heard this story otherwise. Don't you idiots realize there's new traffic every day?

[–]zigzag8454 2 points3 points ago

Doesn't matter: still touching.

[–]Ragefacesoflucy 4 points5 points ago

I cried... like the biggest baby...

[–]TummySticks 4 points5 points ago

Not to be a dick, the sentiment here is awesome....but Im pretty sure a ways back a bunch of people found out all the little cards and stuff were actually all from the ai generated gifts etc....

[–]_TheGermanGuy_ 3 points4 points ago

Wow this is probably the first post I saw on /r/gaming. Pretty sad, love the animation.

[–]ForeverAlonesome 2 points3 points ago

I'm a 28 year old man and this made me tear up :(

[–]Sutekhy 3 points4 points ago

This is confirmed fake.

[–]Lets_Fuckin_Rage 3 points4 points ago

I lost my mom too so I know that feel, bro. Great story.

[–]icepickjones 2 points3 points ago

This gif is super old, but it still gets me every time

[–]Big_Black_Wang 3 points4 points ago

Polio? In middle age? In a country where you buy videogames, you can get a vaccine as well.

I'm sorry, just not buying this.

You don't "get Polio" anymore unless its Pakistan or Central Africa and not vaccinated.

The disease is ELIMINATED in the Americas, Europe, most of Asia and Australia.
Meaning there are NO CASES PERIOD.

[–]cbrandolino 3 points4 points ago

Yep, definitely bullshit. On this planet, though, we call it "fiction" and enjoy it.

There's whole books filled with similar things.

[–]Twisted_Fate 2 points3 points ago

Even in China its easier to get SARS then Polio.

[–]Big_Black_Wang 4 points5 points ago

Calling bullshit on this and then calling the CDC because it's apparently back in the hemisphere.

[–]Twisted_Fate 5 points6 points ago

Well, at least it wasn't smallpox.

[–]eugal 1 point2 points ago

holy shit this fucking comic.

[–]rowenharu 1 point2 points ago

[–]amedeus 1 point2 points ago

Older than time itself.

[–]krammreddit 1 point2 points ago

This is indeed touching. Best to love our parents while they're still with us!

[–]gazoogle 1 point2 points ago

That was touching and mawkish.

This made me think of my mother. She died from breast cancer in 2010 and this reminded me of how I'm constantly reminded of her. My experience of being reminded of her love for my brothers and I is whenever I see someone that knew her. I always hear how proud she was of me and my brothers and how much of a wonderful person she was. It's a never ending, bittersweet feeling of melancholy. I enjoyed this post quite a bit and I have to say, I wouldn't have appreciated it as much unless I had a similar experience. Thank you Nekomancerr for posting it. It brought me to tears thinking of the memories I had with my mother, and the fond memories I had of her. Here's to a mother's never ending love for her children.
