The most popular posts on r/atheism are those highlighting some of the most extreme, fantastic aspects of religion, but this is no different from any daily newspaper that highlights the most extreme, fantastic events of the day.

indeed, and it is stories like those on the daily news that convince people that a crime like murder is at an all-time high, when it has actually gone down.

Whose* job is it around here to make sure that the posts are balanced, anyway?! Someone go poke them with a stick.

I have nice christian friends, I just don't talk about themm because their christianity has minimal effect on our friendship.

Posting about a Christian friend who isn't crazy defeats the purpose. We all know there are normal people theist and atheists. We care more about the crazy ones.

Yeah. How else are we supposed to get our imaginary internet points?

Yes, you're right...there are plenty of delusional people out there who are totally not douchebags.

I'm sure a sane Christian would kindly avoid most of the atheists on reddit.

No it's just that the normal ones don't make a concerted effort to seperate themselfs from the crazies in the public's view.
