I'm so glad to see fountain pens on Reddit. I'm trying to start a collection, taking after my father who has a much larger collection at the moment. Here's a picture of a few of my current (and inexpensive) every day writing pens for those curious.

If you've never tried using one as a regular pen, I really recommend it. They flow extremely well on the paper, the cost of re-filling is minimal and exceedingly easy, and in general the pens themselves can be very elegant and surprisingly cheap.

It allows you to appreciate what you write.

If you've never used a fountain pen, you're missing out. They're way nicer to write with than ballpoints. And it doesn't have to be a fountain pen that looks like this.

I love MB nibs (the business end of a fountain pen). They're the reason I got into fountain pens. Other pens may write just as well and cost a lot less, but nothing beats the look or feel of a Montblanc nib. They're really a joy to write with.

I have this Mont Blanc Starwalker Fineliner. I got it some years back as a gift, since I wouldn't be paying nearly $400 for a pen. That being said, writing with this thing is an absolute dream. It's like the tip of the pen has a suspension in it that gives slightly as you press on the paper.
