They appear to be tracking Domino's Pizza deliveries.

[–]ElPatreeecko 72 points73 points ago

Good call. Now why on earth would anyone in NYC be eating Domino's?

[–]my_bitches_love_me 18 points19 points ago

Because 2 Bros doesn't deliver.

[–]beeper917 6 points7 points ago

I must be the only one in NY left who doesn't want to eat 2 Bros. To me, pizza should cost more than $0.99.

[–]KingofCraigland 5 points6 points ago

I live in Chicago now and they just don't seem to understand that it shouldn't cost 3 fucking dollars for a slice of thin crust.

If you're tripling the cost to make your pizza as good/equivalent to New York pizza, your still not as good now are you?

[–]fishhand 1 point2 points ago

Sal and Carmine's costs $3 and is well worth it.

[–]KingofCraigland 0 points1 point ago

But if you can get great pizza that you would eat at any meal any day of the week for $0.99 to $1.30 a slice why would you want to triple or double for the equivalent service and quality? Just so you can say you did, sure. But not every day.

[–]Kidsturk 0 points1 point ago

There is about eight times as much food in a Chicago deep dish pizza.

[–]Skjalg 4 points5 points ago

In Norway a pizza usually costs around 200 NOK which is about 33 dollars.

[–]Tyreth 0 points1 point ago

Wow, that's expensive! In Sweden a decent pizza costs about 60-70 SEK, which according to Google is about 50 NOK and 8-9 USD

[–]Skjalg 0 points1 point ago

Yeah I've seen offers as low as 150 NOK and some rare offers at 100 NOK, but it is usually 199 NOK for a medium pizza (1~2 people) and 249 for a big one(2~4 people).

[–]f3ng3r 0 points1 point ago

I saw these prices one at Oslo airport, but thought is was just because airport prices were ridiculous high.. any idea why the normal price is this high? In Denmark a regular pizza from an Italian place is about 50-60 DKK/NOK and Dominos is about 70-80 DKK/NOK for a medium size.

[–]decayingteeth 1 point2 points ago

Because there's is a ban on carrying pizza (not eating) so smuggling them to peoples homes make them expensive.

[–]Tyreth 0 points1 point ago

Personally I've never been to Norway (yet). Rumors say that everything's expensive there though :P

[–]Skjalg 0 points1 point ago

see for yourself under Jazzpizza. The left column are the italian pizzas meant for one person (156 -> 169)NOK whereas the american pizzas come in two sizes; medium (192 -> 212) NOK and large (247 -> 267) NOK.

[–]sometimesijustdont 0 points1 point ago

Why? Pizza costs $2 to make. I need to open a pizza shop in Norway. How much does flour and cheese cost over there?

[–]Skjalg 0 points1 point ago

Flour is cheap I guess, but cheese costs around 70 NOK per kg (not 100% sure on this one). But you have to realize that everything in Norway is expensive as fuck so unless you want to live in a 2m2 flat only eating noodles then you're probably not going to get rich selling pizzas :)

[–]doucheyhipster 0 points1 point ago

Whenever I find myself eating 2 Bros, I'm always too drunk to care how good it is.

[–]novicebater 0 points1 point ago

This is the dumbest thing i've heard.

It's not the pizza itself that you don't like, it's the low price?

[–]AintYaGotEyes 2 points3 points ago

Liquor and poor judgement

[–]Kidsturk 0 points1 point ago

The recipe for success for Domino's, Papa Johns...

[–]Bozz752 28 points29 points ago

Because new Domino's is delicious. Seriously. Give it a chance.

[–]ElPatreeecko 11 points12 points ago

Oddly enough I did just this past weekend. Still not so hot, seems like they just threw some garlic and shit on the crust. I've never minded their thin crust though if there's no decent pizza available. When it comes to the big three shitty pizza joints, I gotta go with Papa Johns.

[–]doucheyhipster 47 points48 points ago

Domino's is okay. But in NYC, you can get far better pizza for the same amount of money.

[–]ThisOpenFist 21 points22 points ago

Guy Fawkes Day, November 5th, 2011.

I went to Manhattan on my own to visit Zuccotti Park during OWS. I live four hours away in Massachusetts, and this was my first chance to visit New York City without any big restrictions.

I got hungry around mid-afternoon and went looking for a slice of the fabled pizza. After a bit of searching, I stumbled into a generic-looking pizzeria just around the corner from NYSE. The pizzeria had all of its topping choices on display behind a glass case. After about of minute of looking like an awkward tourist in my Boston B cap, I chose pepperoni. As he was giving me my slice, the old Italian guy behind the counter said to me, deadpan and with a scowling, veteran look on his face,

"This is the best pizza in New York."

And it was and still is the best pizza I have ever tasted.

TL;DR: Manhattan Pizza > Occupy Wall Street.

[–]ShrimpCrackers 5 points6 points ago

The only people that generally buy Domino's in NYC are transplants. This is basically a map to all their apartments in the upper East and West side.

[–]Moisturizer 3 points4 points ago

I can't stop buying their $6 sandwiches. I know the peppers and stuff are frozen and the meat isn't top-quality. But somehow, that greasy concoction puts me into a food-coma every time. If I really want to abuse myself I spring for the jalapeno bacon stuffed cheesy bread as well.

[–]DreadPiratesRobert 7 points8 points ago

As a former Dominos worker

Sandwiches are the worst thing ever to make. One or two is fine, but some people order like, 10 sandwiches and it slows us down so bad

Also yeah everything is frozen at Dominos

[–]Moisturizer 4 points5 points ago

Curious, what makes them so difficult? It looks easier to make than a Subway 6" sub and it's way less ingredients than a medium pizza.

[–]DreadPiratesRobert 11 points12 points ago

It's probably easier than a subway sub but we don't make those

We make pizza all day, so we have 90% of the recipes memorized, plus when we make a pizza it's really easy to throw down that many pepperoni in a general square, everything is less precise

When we make a sandwich, we have to get a small baking circle thing, a black paper thing, and a white paper thing, pull out the bread, put butter on the top half, pull apart the sandwich, read the ingredients, put exactly 6 slices of pepperoni on etc. Also everything is out of order. We need butter which is in the middle, sauce which at the beginning, cheese which is right after that, red peppers which is at the end, pepperoni which is after the cheese, etc. The line is made to be in the order pizzas are made in

With a medium pizza we toss the dough, hands it to the next guy who spreads the sauce, next guy cheeses, next guy tops, gets in the oven in maybe a minute

[–]Moisturizer 5 points6 points ago

I really appreciate the reply. I can somewhat see how this slipped by even though there's the whole "quality check". I was very cool about my complaint and I was still treated like royalty (Yes, I ate that much of the sandwich before I realized I was chowing on mold). I wonder how many free sandwiches I could have scored if I was the least bit a pain about the mold. My biggest concern was getting sick the day before D3 released, but honestly what kind of pussy gets sick from a little mold? It's more gross than anything.

[–]DreadPiratesRobert 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, honestly if I saw that I would just throw the bread away, but the bread (at my store) just sat in a box in plastic on top of the make line

Any more questions about Dominos you can fire away!

[–]Moisturizer 1 point2 points ago

Ok, one final question. Can you get into the computer system and somehow add another three sandwiches to my phone number as freebies?

[–][deleted] ago

[deleted]

[–]unoriginalsin 1 point2 points ago

The line is made to be in the order pizzas are made in

Your manager has failed you.

[–]DreadPiratesRobert 0 points1 point ago

Why is that? 99% of what Dominos does is pizza

[–]unoriginalsin 0 points1 point ago

I double guarantee that more than 1% of their sales comes from sandwiches. Depending on the location, sandwiches can be the difference between success and failure.

Also, there is no reason the makeline can't be set up to accomodate both sandwich and pizza efficiency.

[–]lionheartednyhc 2 points3 points ago

I just tried the Brooklyn style pizza the other day. Fucking awesome.

[–]fishhand 0 points1 point ago

what's brooklyn style pizza?

[–]lionheartednyhc 0 points1 point ago

Thin crust (although not as thin as their "thin crust") with larger slices.

[–]fishhand 0 points1 point ago

oh i'm not so good at reading comprehension. didn't realize it was a domino's specific thing...thought it was a real thing that I hadn't heard of.

[–]lionheartednyhc 0 points1 point ago

Haha. No worries.

[–]MrOrdinary 0 points1 point ago

I'd love to try one of those but I'm in Australia.

[–]Olukon 2 points3 points ago

[–]_dOlsOn_ 1 point2 points ago

Ok. I'll do it

[–]spazmodic- 0 points1 point ago

Not in Canada. They are convinced that customers are happy with the old pizza (pre-reform dominoes)

[–]gorbok 1 point2 points ago

I don't know what it's like over in the US, but here in NZ the only reason you would buy from Domino's is because it is about a third the cost of other pizza places.

[–]Deathbringer769 1 point2 points ago

"Real" pizzerias aren't open at 2am. The drunk late-night hungry crowd man.

[–]martita1 1 point2 points ago

i don't know if they have delivery, but Artichoke. man.

[–]ElPatreeecko 0 points1 point ago

Right on, I am all too familiar with that. I just figured NYC would have good, late night delivery spots.

[–]fishhand -1 points0 points ago

This is not true. If you are in any of the popular nightlife areas there is a "Real" pizzeria that is open at 2am.

[–]clickdelete 0 points1 point ago

Everyone in the boroughs knows better

[–]slicedpan -2 points-1 points ago

because they dont want to drive to the bronx to get real pizza

[–]loki010[S] 71 points72 points ago

[–]vesslia 8 points9 points ago

There's a short little video about it here, too.

[–]OuHiroshi 20 points21 points ago

Anyone can find high resolution versions? These would make great wallpapers.

[–]thesilverecluse 3 points4 points ago

Very cool

[–]likearock 1 point2 points ago

Why are there so many dead bodies going into/out of Chicago?

[–]ShhhhOkay 7 points8 points ago

fogettaboutit

[–]kllr 0 points1 point ago

Wow... they sure love their pizza (who doesn't?). Excellent images.

But things are not looking good in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and California in terms of employment.

[–]KeithRichter 0 points1 point ago

Looking at all the American ones, perhaps I'm not in touch with some of American culture as much as I should be but the midwest looks like it needs a population boost.

[–]BeardMilk 2 points3 points ago

The midwest is mostly agricultural. You are looking at an unbelievable amount of farmland which feeds not only this country but a good portion of the world. We do not need to bulldoze over it all to make high density urban centers.

[–]Netadmin44 10 points11 points ago

Why did that one person make a loop in Central Park? Either someone ordered in CP, or got lost? heh.

[–]rcrracer 5 points6 points ago

Why are all the pizza eaters located around Central Park? Don't people live and eat pizza outside that area? Is there an Elaine Benes type food delivery problem?

[–]clintonius 4 points5 points ago

They're only tracking a select few pizza places. It looks like there are nine hub restaurants on the map, and there are more than nine pizza places in any given Manhattan neighborhood, to say nothing of the entire northern half of the island.

Edit: see this comment. They're tracking Domino's.

[–]hiding_from_my_gf 5 points6 points ago

Someone ordered pizza sleeping in the park.

[–]Anonymoustard 13 points14 points ago

Someone was delivering something besides pizza

[–]gorbok 8 points9 points ago

New Yorkers can order pizza with child porn? That is one barter system I can't get behind.

[–]OneMoGin 1 point2 points ago

"smoke" break

[–]cridlaajio 6 points7 points ago

Thanks for posting the source too! These images are incredible!

[–]Smoermannen 9 points10 points ago

Is it expensive to live on Manhattan? It feels so small and cozy

[–]neuromonkey 64 points65 points ago

No, not at all. You can get a huge, four bedroom apartment there for only, like, $600/month. (Haven't you ever watched Friends?) The landlords in NYC take super-good care of the buildings, too.

[–]Captain_d00m 30 points31 points ago

This guy, with the social commentary.

[–]raoul_llamas_duke 15 points16 points ago

friends and how i met your mother misrepresent working life in manhattan so badly

[–]clintonius 17 points18 points ago

Mad Magazine once summarized Friends as (paraphrasing) a show tracking the lives of young people in Manhattan who subsist on government cheese and coffee while living in apartments that Bill Gates would need two references to rent.

edit for spelling, and to combine accidental double-post: HIMYM isn't so terrible, at least as far as their portrayal of apartments. Friends is another story (and a bad one, told over and over and over).

[–]Cyborg771 6 points7 points ago

There was an episode where Marshall and Lily went looking for a new apartment and they were all pretty shit.

[–]clintonius 3 points4 points ago

Precisely! And (spoiler alert, from the first or second season) Lily winds up renting an apartment by herself that's a dump. It's worse than pretty much anything you can actually rent in the city.

[–]skryb 2 points3 points ago

Dowisetrepla

[–]fictionalsleep 1 point2 points ago

The best Manhattan apartment hunting on TV was in Louie. Toilet in the kitchen, old man sitting there watching you check out his apartment.

[–]neuromonkey 3 points4 points ago

You mean... TV ISN'T REAL??!

[–]BackToTheFanta -1 points0 points ago

Not true with HIMYM i mean barney could just pay for everything..okay fine he doesnt.

[–]ShrimpCrackers 2 points3 points ago

Reality: a beautiful 4 bed room apartment costs something like 3-10 million USD in Manhattan.

[–]neuromonkey 2 points3 points ago

I'll take three!

[–]ShrimpCrackers 2 points3 points ago

I forgot to mention that the building upkeep on those apartments are only like a mere $3,500 a month.

[–]neuromonkey 1 point2 points ago

FOUR! I NEED FOUR!

[–]Little_Metal_Worker 9 points10 points ago

almost everything is expensive in Manhattan. But, if you work there you will earn more.

The things that show the biggest difference are housing and parking. housing in Manhattan is extremely expensive. rent for a 1200sq/ft apartment in an average building in Manhattan could probably pay the mortgage and taxes on a 4000sq/ft house in most of the US.

And parking a car in the city is also an expensive proposition. If you were to drive in for a the night and put your car in a garage (street parking is a long shot in many neighborhoods) you can expect to pay between $25-$50 depending on the time and location. if you live there and have a regular spot in a garage, i have heard it is $500+/month, again depending on location.

a typical dinner out, at an average restaurant ranges between $30 and $50/head. A movie (admittedly, its been a while since i saw movie in the city) was $17, the popcorn and soda equaled another $17. a gallon of milk is between $4-$5. and if you happen to be a smoker, get ready to pony up to the tune of $15+ per pack.

A lot of NYC residents i know claim that they know the tricks for living in the city cheaply, and there are tips and tricks you can learn to save a few bucks here and there. but frankly i believe it all to be irrelevant, because if your not going to enjoy the city and all it has to offer, than there really is no point in living there. But, if/when you do indulge in living in the city and taking advantage of all that it has to offer, you will be amazed, and then, you'll look around, and say to yourself, "its worth every fucking penny"

[–]A_Wild_Missingno 2 points3 points ago

so you could just get a shopping list for a bunch of people that you do out of state, then drive it back there in a uhaul and make massive profits?

[–]merpes 0 points1 point ago

I always take a couple of cartons of cigs up there (from Virginia) when I visit friends in NYC. It's about a $30 profit per carton and they are still getting them about $3-4/pack cheaper than they would be paying normally.

[–]eramos 4 points5 points ago

If you have a car in NYC you're doing it terribly wrong

[–]Little_Metal_Worker 2 points3 points ago

or terribly right. if you can afford to live in a decent building with a garage, it can be quite nice to call down and have them pull your car out so that you can leave the city for an afternoon, or weekend.

[–]eramos 0 points1 point ago

Advice obviously doesn't apply to billionaires

[–]tk1451 0 points1 point ago

A lot of people I know keep cars at lots in Harlem or the Bronx. That way they can get out of the city easily without relying on public transportation, but also avoid the hassles of driving/parking in lower manhattan.

[–]FlyingHigh 1 point2 points ago

All those prices actually sound quite reasonable. /Zurich resident.

[–]doucheyhipster 1 point2 points ago

a typical dinner out, at an average restaurant ranges between $30 and $50/head

Not if you know where to go. You can eat for $15-20/head easily.

And there's always the option to not live in Manhattan and pay way less for rent.

[–]Little_Metal_Worker 0 points1 point ago

the question was "is it expensive to live on Manhattan?" the answer is yes, if you think it isn't then you are deluding yourself.

Like i said before, there's no shortage of people in the city who tell you that you can live there on the cheap, and you can, but that will be greatly limit your choices.

I would say that the majority of the sit down restaurants i go to end up costing $30-50/e, like i said. sure you can skip the appetizer, or the wine/drinks and drop the price a bit, but again, then whats the point? One of my favorite things about Manhattan is that you can eat at a different place every night, and there is no genre of food that you cant find. but if you limit yourself to $20/e than you are really cutting out a large percentage of the options.

Bottom line, you can survive on a lower budget, but if you want to really enjoy the city, be prepared for plenty of $50 meals, the prices mostly go up from there. of course chicken and rice on a street corner is not to be missed as well.

[–]clintonius 3 points4 points ago

you'll look around, and say to yourself, "I'm too poor to move away"

[–]FunFactor100 0 points1 point ago

The dinner prices seem very reasonable. Unless I'm eating fast food it easily costs me $40-100 in Ottawa.

[–]UrDoctor 0 points1 point ago

Wow, sounds just like Melbourne

[–]ShrimpCrackers 0 points1 point ago

Honestly, your prices are a bit high. I have a post in /r/NYC that lists many ways to get things cheaper - CostCo, Amazon, while still enjoying the city fully, if not more so.

Besides there are coupon books you can use to get movie tickets for about $6-7 at most NYC theaters. There are many buildings with free observation decks so you don't need to splurge on the inferior view at the Empire State, etc etc.

[–]Little_Metal_Worker 0 points1 point ago

from my previous post:

A lot of NYC residents i know claim that they know the tricks for living in the city cheaply, and there are tips and tricks you can learn to save a few bucks here and there. but frankly i believe it all to be irrelevant, because if your not going to enjoy the city and all it has to offer, than there really is no point in living there.

like i said, it can be done, but the bottom line is that its more expensive there. sure you can chop a few bucks off your meals and entertainment, but there is no coupon for a larger apartment in a better neighborhood. and if you want to enjoy living in the city, checking out the new hot restaurants, and shopping at the cool stores, it just costs more.

[–]ShrimpCrackers 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, I'm in agreement with your rent part, but disagreed with the prices you were talking about for movie tickets and food. I mean there are plenty of pizza and falafel places for a buck, plenty of restaurants in Manhattan where you can get a decent meal for $10-15 a head before tips.

A lot of people get around the rent issue by either sharing, living outside of Manhattan or gasp Jersey City. E.g. Hudson Heights in Manhattan, Ditmas Park or Midwood in Brooklyn, Cliffside or Fort Lee in Jersey, Staten Island near the ferry, and Sunnyside Queens / Queens Blvd. They're not bad neighborhoods, they're actually pretty awesome. You can do pretty well in Flushing or Elmhurst too if you like Asian food.

Manhattan commands a premium for good reason but not all of Manhattan is expensive but it depends on what you're willing to put up with. I've seen some nice apartments in Hudson Heights for as little as $700 a month a person.

[–]Little_Metal_Worker 0 points1 point ago

the original question was "Is it expensive to live on Manhattan?" the answer is yes. the average price of everything is higher than it would be in other places (including the outer boros).

an average dinner that would cost you $15 in Philly will cost you $30 in Manhattan. a pack of smokes that would cost you $3 in Richmond VA, will cost you $15 in Manhattan, etc etc. im just saying that on average, and with all things being equal, like quality of neighborhood, its pricier.

[–]sometimesijustdont 0 points1 point ago

This just seems hilarious to me. People obliviously pissing away their money because they make enough to "afford it".

[–]Little_Metal_Worker 0 points1 point ago

first of all, they aren't "affording it", they are "enjoying it".

and 2nd of all, salaries in Manhattan are quite a bit more than they are in other places. its a matter of scale. I could argue that you are pissing away money by not working in NYC. the money you give up by not dealing with the hassle of NYC is quite substantial. why do you think so many people go through the insanity of commuting in and out every day from both the outer boros and surrounding counties?

also, you seriously underestimate the awesomeness of having chinese food delivered 24/7 at what appears to be the speed of sound.

[–]sometimesijustdont 0 points1 point ago

I should just be a homeless guy in Manhattan.

[–]Little_Metal_Worker 0 points1 point ago

well, I'm afraid i don't much about what its like to be homeless, personally id head for a warmer climate than NYC has to offer. perhaps San Diego? but there certainly are some homeless people in Manhattan, and maybe they know something i don't?

I'm told this video is a documentary on the underground homeless city, aka home of the mole people, but i haven't had a chance to watch it yet, and I'm afraid I'm quite ignorant on the subject.

[–]blueboybob 0 points1 point ago

yes very much so.

[–]random314 0 points1 point ago

yep. You start at about 1500-2000 for a studio. It increases about $1000 per bedroom.

[–]Konifer 0 points1 point ago

I live in lower Manhattan, and have been fortunate enough to grow up with a family who can afford a loft space. Yes, it's very, very expensive, probably some of the most expensive real estate in the country. Many young people choose to live in Brooklyn and even Queens, which are pretty cool as well.

[–]donttouchmyfeet 2 points3 points ago

As someone who is living in Queens, hey! We're cool :(

[–]OneMoGin 0 points1 point ago

As someone who is living in Brooklyn...PUT YOUR FUCKING HANDS UP

[–]milkmantk21 4 points5 points ago

Nobody goes through central park. lol

[–]tk1451 0 points1 point ago

These guys are riding bikes, and if ever somebody ordered from the other side of the park there's another Domino's on the other side that would be much closer.

[–]kold 3 points4 points ago

Dammit! They don't deliver inside the park.

[–]tk1451 0 points1 point ago

They actually do (not sure about Domino's but a lot of places that use bike delivery boys). I don't know how long of a timeframe this pictures uses or what time of night it was or what day of the week, but if you were to look at all deliveries for a 24-hour period you'd see plenty into the park.

[–]everydayimhustlin 4 points5 points ago

The Deliverator belongs to an elite order, a hallowed subcategory. He's got esprit up to here. Right now, he is preparing to carry out his third mission of the night. His uniform is black as activated charcoal, filtering the very light out of the air.

[–]unoriginalsin 1 point2 points ago

The Deliverator's car has enough potential energy packed into its batteries to fire a pound of bacon into the asteroid Belt.

[–]camp_anawanna 2 points3 points ago

Pizza, the lifeblood of america.

[–]MirrorLake 1 point2 points ago

THE FUTURE... of pizza.

[–]vulpes_occulta 1 point2 points ago

It's analogous to our arteries after years of consuming pizza.

[–]Jayshwa 1 point2 points ago

Good lord, this makes me want to play Sim City 4

[–]fell-off-the-spiral 1 point2 points ago

Am I the only one terrified by this?

Sure it looks purty but, ... damn, is it really that easy to track people now? And to the point where it has become so easy and common that we can track pizza delivery guys with this accuracy?

Fuck.

[–]orismology 1 point2 points ago

It took a few moments of "who are the 8 people that keep ordering pizza" before I realised that the bright spots were stores.

[–]The_Maddog 1 point2 points ago

The Grid!

[–]Mahkasad 3 points4 points ago

Also, in other news, TRON.

[–]Mike07P 1 point2 points ago

Imagine there is just one delivery guy O_o

[–]spainguy 1 point2 points ago

Can they map cannabis consumption on the same map over the same period?

[–]fascination_street 0 points1 point ago

OP delivered.

[–]ry2104 0 points1 point ago

no one in the park got pizza?

[–]RzK 0 points1 point ago

And to think that one of those is spider-man...

Looks like something in blackreach. (skyrim underworld.)

[–]the_upvote_bender 0 points1 point ago

Seeing this you can tell where single people lives or people with children

[–]ajkeel 0 points1 point ago

Southwest side doesn't seem to like pizza... Hmmm...

[–]meatrocket88 0 points1 point ago

Is that the grid?

[–]Cyborg771 0 points1 point ago

I kinda want to order a Pizza out to the middle of Central Park just to fuck with this.

[–]conley46 0 points1 point ago

i could eat 2 whole 12" pizza

As a delivery driver in a comfortable suburb I have a question: Where the hell do the drivers park when they're delivering to the apartments? There aren't designated pizza delivery spots to my knowledge, so do they have to drive for blocks to find a place and then walk all the way to the apartment? Wouldn't that take forever?

[–]boooey 2 points3 points ago

In this case, the delivery guy is riding a bicycle.

[–]grantith 1 point2 points ago

Bicycles. I've never had a car deliver food to me in New York. The city is compact so it doesn't take long to deliver within their zone.

[–]Danez 0 points1 point ago

*drivers

[–]jeffha3 0 points1 point ago

Now I'm all hungry.

[–]forsakenjg 0 points1 point ago

i feel bad for the guys who had to deliver those looong single lines haha

[–]irollbrokenfingers 0 points1 point ago

As a delivery driver... That's how you get places! Same roads every time.. Same people every day..

[–]Name213whatever 0 points1 point ago

I wish I could compare this map to obesity rates.

[–]criticalnegation 0 points1 point ago

what is the neighborhood on the northeast side where no one goes? that's very interesting...as a former pizza delivery driver, there were certain neighborhoods we were not allowed to deliver to for fear of being mugged.

[–]preske 0 points1 point ago

A question for the Manhattaners, besides the park, why are there so many empty spots? Even when just a block further, it has lots of blue lines.

[–]Chrimbusnymph 0 points1 point ago

devil's advocate but... WOW CARS AND BIKES USE ROADS?!?!

[–]nightwood 0 points1 point ago

You can see why they call it 'the grid'

[–]TheRealMishkin 0 points1 point ago

Midtown apparently just eats sushi.

[–]MrRebeccaSlumber 0 points1 point ago

lol Harlem must not like pizza!

[–]wisenheimer 0 points1 point ago

Looks like they refuse to deliver to central Harlem. For you out-of-towners, that's the area directly on top of the park.

[–]OneMoGin 1 point2 points ago

seriously...if you live north of columbia/morningside it is actually much easier to get weed or chinese food delivered.

[–]Google_Dictator -2 points-1 points ago

to pull it would take is 9 stragetic lee place palms to delay a significant portion of all the pizza in new york. interesting

[–]neuromonkey 15 points16 points ago

Your words they are not sense make.

[–]DenizenoftheInternet 2 points3 points ago

Nonsensical, yet so diabolical.

[–]neuromonkey 1 point2 points ago

Ah, Dabicalogicology. My favorite third period class on Wednesdays.

[–]clintonius 4 points5 points ago

For anyone who doesn't speak stroke: "all it would take is 9 strategically placed bombs to delay a significant portion of all the pizza in new york. interesting."

Because, obviously, these are the only nine pizza places on the million-and-a-half-person island.

[–]FerretWithASpork -1 points0 points ago

inb4 cops start using GPS trails of pizza delivery riders for drug busts.

[–]Crucks -1 points0 points ago

its anakins pod racer!

[–]TheMetro -1 points0 points ago

maybe it was one guy.. lost... in the city.. who recently moved... because he got a divorce...after the wife.. killed his kids..

[–]tk425 -1 points0 points ago

now measure the obesity of people closer to those epicenters of pizza delivery... or are those the pizza huts dominos?

[–]publius4 -5 points-4 points ago

It's weird how all the pizza places appear to cluster in hubs like that. I wonder why that is.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points ago

I think you just explained it to yourself. The density clusters are the pizza places.

[–]publius4 -2 points-1 points ago

There have to be more pizza places than that in Manhattan. It looks to me like a dozen pizza places in each cluster, but maybe you're right.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points ago

Maybe they were just tracking a handful of pizza places.

[–]clintonius 2 points3 points ago

That's correct -- they are following deliveries made from Domino's. Credit to this post.

[–]Ricktron3030 0 points1 point ago

Someone above said it was Dominos pizza locations.

[–]publius4 0 points1 point ago

Even so, I would have expected more. Oh well, I'm not from Manhattan and my silly comments are earning me downvotes.

[–]very_easily_confused 1 point2 points ago

Those are locations the turtles cycle through to try to avoid detection.
