Cops have a number of breaks during their shift but are encouraged to take those brief breaks in their squad car, parked somewhere visible.

At least that's how it is in the states.

I'm with you bro. God forbid she may have been working a long shift (like 12 -24 hrs) and needed a 10 minute power nap.

I'm an EMT. I used to work 24 hour shifts. No paid lunch time. Or dinner time. And we get woken up in the middle of the night to help people. We eat in between calls and we sleep in between calls. Cops do the same thing. They show up to many of our calls. Stop being faggots and give the poor woman a break. She (and most cops) deal with more shit in her job than most stereotypical 9-5ers will ever deal with. Go on and hide behind your keyboards but this hateful anti-cop shit on Reddit bugs the everloving fuck out of me.

Also the fact that they often work graveyard shifts, which really sucks, and have additional responsibilities after that.

The cops in my town live as far as 2 hours away, the ones who work nights have a really messed up schedule, not all cops are doing traffic 100% of the time

Nah, disagreement is fine. People can, and will, hate cops. And although I disagree, people are entitled to that opinion. I'm just sick of people jumping on the anti-cop bandwagon without really considering the other side. Or perhaps they have. IDK. I just wanted to voice my own opinion on the matter (albeit with poor word choice). There needed to be an opinion on here other than "hot cop is hot" and "all cops are lazy".

Neither actually. I just wanted to use a vocabulary that would resonate with people.

I work with both cops and firefighters. The vibe I've gotten since joining reddit is that the majority of people on here are programmers, IT, engineers, etc. I'm not cut out for any of those jobs; I don't have the skills. But, I think these same people would shit themselves if they had to respond to a domestic dispute, a robbery, a car crash, a drug overdose. They boil the career of the of one of the most dangerous jobs down to coffee and doughnuts. It's so badass to say "fuck the police" on the internet but the reality is that most of the people here saying misogynistic and anti-cop stuff have not actually tried to put themselves into the cops' shoes so to speak. They're all talk.

Sorry for the wall of text BTW.

I feel you, mate. My father was an EMT when I was a kid, he was ALWAYS on call and barely got sleep for weeks at a time, that is just the way the job was. He even had to leave my 8th birthday because of some idiot with a head cold. We are now both morticians and work together, and ever since he went from saving people to burying them he always tells me, "Dead people are a lot more quiet than live ones." Sure, I may have to get up at one in the morning sometimes to fetch a body, but I don't think I will ever feel the stress he felt having to always be alert and on call. Police, Firefighters, and EMT's all have some of the worst jobs in terms of dealing with people, paychecks, and stress. They are bad-asses for putting up with it.

I am all for pointing out when cops abuse their power and abuse citizens, but I have a problem with ruining a career of a cop because they may be on break. I doubt that any person on here works the kind of hours a cop does and has never taken a break on the clock. We are all human and we need to respect the men and women who risk their lives protecting us and cut them some slack. This may not be her finest moment, but I'd rather this than have seen her threatening some kids with a video camera or pepper spraying innocent kids.

thats VPD, Vancouver, not Ontario. Should point out for our American friends, there is alot (almost 50%) of "hot" female police officers in Canada, atleast Western Canada. Due to the rigorous background checks, it is much easier for women like her to get in that a big strong male who had a few run-ins in the past.
