Now, silly pictures that make fun of religious belief because religion is a net negative, that I can get behind. Especially since a god existing in the first place is the least likely concept ever concieved.

Bigotry is an intolerant devotion to one's own group or position. I display none of that beyond an intolerance of evil. If any of my positions are shown to be fallacious, I will recant immediately, apologize for my foolishness, and move on.

Evil? oh so the people who believe in god are evil? Because the attacks made by this subreddit on theists are only half to do with religion on insitutional terms. The other part is mostly the argument you make that people who don't rule out an absence of god to be all complete backwards idiots. You're a brave brave little man with a keyboard, kiddo.

Actually, I'm not using a proper keyboard, nor do you have any reason to think I agree with the apparently few actual r/atheism comments you've taken the time to look at.

Belief is an evil because it does unnecessary harm, but so long as those who believe keep it to themself they're only harming themselves and I have no problem with their decision.

Belief is unnecessary harm? so the people who use faith to endure suffering on a level at which medical science cannot guarantee the same strength in will power are all, evil and stupid? k.

Belief causes unnecessary harm. Don't put words in my mouth. People who use faith to endure are no different from those who use any other drug: only harming themselves and well within their rights. But like any drug, it's wrong to push it on others.

I think you have a bit of growing up to do. Bar the obvious unhealthy nature of pushing beliefs on others, nothing about what you said is remotely plausible. I can see you're from the more closed-minded branch of atheism, but here's a word of advice; re-look at belief as a subject.

This is possibly the worst analogy I've ever heard in my entire life. Unless you're gonna tell me you've been a direct victim of extreme abuse of religion (i.e clerical abuse by a preist) then please stop victimizing yourself and labelling all forms of religion as unhealthy. For many people there is no greater motive for endurance in times of hardship than belief and spirituality. That may not be the case for everyone obviously, but to say that people which belong to this group of shared thought are; evil, idiot junkies is indeed bigoted and intolerant my friend. If my grandmother rings me the night before a term exam to tell me she lit a candle for me, is it my job to scream down the phone "YOU STUPID FACIST BITCH WAKE UP THERE IS NO GOD" or reply "Thanks Gran, I'll try my best and I appreciate you're thoughts with me in this difficult time"?
