That's a cool coincidence, I just went to a wedding last night and the father of the groom was the guy who wrote this song. They played it when they introduced the bridal party at the reception. Lovely wedding.

[–][deleted] 65 points66 points ago

That's nice.

[–]Zerba 22 points23 points ago

I pictured an old lady saying this in a sarcastic tone as she went back to sipping her tea.

[–]P1ofTheTicket 9 points10 points ago

Cool story, Hansel.

[–]itsasillyplace 1 point2 points ago

Minstrels will write songs about you.

[–]whatainttaken 25 points26 points ago

The way he keeps his hands up in a defensive posture made me think he was a boxer. Thanks for confirming!

[–]sebtoast 14 points15 points ago

It was either that or he was a Gurkha

[–]BrotherOscar 1 point2 points ago

Ghurka strikes again, this time taking out twenty man with one swing of his enormous brass balls.

[–]devel0pth1s 9 points10 points ago

His name sems to be Nuh Demircan, a turkish professional boxer, at the moment employed as a security guard at a bank. This video of the event includes a translation from turkish in its description - good sir.

[–]azzaleo 4 points5 points ago

Awww, that means it's just 1v3 with a load of spectators. But thank you for the original.

[–]Octopus_Tetris 3 points4 points ago

Gotta love "eye of the tiger".

[–]fermilevel 4 points5 points ago

A badass as he might be, but he swung the first punch.

Its because its not actually 20 vs 1. Its about 4 vs 1, with 16 bystanders.

[–]pizza_bro 68 points69 points ago

True, but it'd still make you shit bricks to think that anyone of those 16 could jump in at any moment.

[–]shoziku 1 point2 points ago

depends on how long you watch it. I lost count after the first 5 minutes.

[–]OffColorCommentary 576 points577 points ago

If they went at him two at a time then he'd do that thing where he grabs both of their heads and smacks them together.

lern2fite noob.

[–]CannedBeef 101 points102 points ago

If they came three at a time he would do that, but sandwich a third guy in between.

[–]Limitedcomments 62 points63 points ago

That might be enough to enable his special combo ability and take out 5 at once!

[–]mozeiny 23 points24 points ago

actually its easier to wait for them to strike, then just use counter

[–]vivvav 20 points21 points ago

Well, yeah, you do that to start, but if you want your Freeflow Combo to get up, then you start flipping around, kicking each guy individually. At some point, you'll probably jump across the room just to punch a guy in the face. And remember, you can do your special combo takedown, but try a ground takedown and one of them'll sucker punch ya.

[–]bultonic 3 points4 points ago

He really should try using the freeze grenade to slow down the ones with weapons.

[–]vivvav 2 points3 points ago

I make those primary targets. Aim attacks towards them and then special combo armored combatants.

[–]NullComment 1 point2 points ago

Oh? You mean like... this?

[–]1zero2two8eight 16 points17 points ago

I just watched True Lies last night and within the first 10 minutes, Arnold is being chased by a couple of Dobermans. He does this exact head slam thing to them. I've never laughed at the pain of a dog before but it was just so delightfully tacky.

[–]FrostMonstreme 14 points15 points ago

True Lies is really a great movie. I love that scene where he and Tom Arnold (I think) make the wannabe James Bond piss his pants.

[–]cpnHindsight 20 points21 points ago

[–]FrostMonstreme 25 points26 points ago

Hey, that goes without saying. This scene has a fond place in my fap hall of fame. If my faps were The Bible, a sticky, disgusting family Bible, it would be Exodus, because the lord's seed left the promised hand that day.

[–]warboy 1 point2 points ago

Wow, this is just maybe half a step below the cumbox.

[–]Ltlflwr 4 points5 points ago

I love this scene because as sexy as I can feel or look I'm still the girl falling or tripping like a fool. It was unexpected in the scene and it makes me giggle still.

[–]TheRealBramtyr 2 points3 points ago

The most awkward moment of my life was when I was sitting in the waiting room of a retirement home, surrounded by old fogeys in wheel chairs. True Lies is playing on the TV, I had forgotten about this scene, and it happens. Total silence around me except one guy grunted.

[–]Beejeroy 1 point2 points ago

Bill Paxton like a mother fucker!

[–]FrostMonstreme 1 point2 points ago

Happily, he later perfected his patter and went on to have three wives. Almost four, I mean, the dude was going for a quorum, but that waitress was a loose cannon.

[–]Beejeroy 1 point2 points ago

GAME OVER MAN!

[–]FrostMonstreme 1 point2 points ago

According to an interview in Mental Floss (IIRC), Bill Paxton ad-libbed the line "Game Over." Also, his haircut in "Weird Science" (he played the asshole older brother in the movie) was his idea. [Sidenote: the USA Network used to be decent - it had Weird Science (the show) and Duckman. They did play like eight hours of Wings and La Femme Nikita, though. . .]

[–]agentmuu 7 points8 points ago

Did they make the stock high pitched "oww-ah" sound that all dogs make in movies when they're injured?

[–]Shoeboxer 1 point2 points ago

They do.

On a side note, I love Tom Arnold in that movie.

[–]wayndom 1 point2 points ago

Rubber dogs.

[–]speedstix 1 point2 points ago

True lies changed my life. Best scene is when he sees the nukes and calls them snow cone makers.

[–]spinalsnap 116 points117 points ago

He is moving away from them at a steady speed though.

[–]FragPoppa 165 points166 points ago

Exactly, he's definitely an accomplished fighter/boxer.

[–]Travv 350 points351 points ago

Mmmm yes, clearly. Strokes neckbeard

[–]DudeWithTheNose 172 points173 points ago

[–]DudeWithTheNose 2 points3 points ago

i saw that when i first submitted the comment, but I was too lazy to change "eat" to "eats"

[–]Spocktease 40 points41 points ago

But not, apparently, too lazy to type out a whole comment explaining the situation.

[–]chili_cheese_dog 7 points8 points ago

[–]victorybell22 6 points7 points ago

Yea read the story on this a while back, he is indeed a professional

[–]Cheezykins 115 points116 points ago

He's kiting them, he clearly has hours of experience in the World of Warcraft murder simulator.

[–]shoziku 26 points27 points ago

See that's a good tank, keep the mobs in front of him.

[–]Spookaboo 1 point2 points ago

Yeh but you gotta keep the mobs stationary for the dps.

[–]jansenvt 1 point2 points ago

That's why he keeps circling. He's keeping them within the radius

[–]yingkaixing 1 point2 points ago

he keeps his hands up. Hes definitely training in something.

[–]trentlott[!] 1 point2 points ago

Clapping.

[–]TheCodexx 15 points16 points ago

It's really hard to just jump in swinging when two guys are going at it. Especially if you only want to hit one of them in particular. You're going to be less accurate and you risk injury yourself with 4+ limbs flying around.

It's not impossible to team up but it's not as simple as more people attacking at once.

[–]yoursweatersux 4 points5 points ago

Let me guess, you haven't been in a real fight since middle school, have you?

There's nothing "hard" or even dangerous about multiple people beating the shit out of somebody. When two people are fighting, the guy that's by himself can't turn and run. All his friends have to do is just grab/tackle the guy and take him to the ground, and it's all over.

I say this having seen multiple fight fights at frat parties where some drunk guy decides it's a good idea to fight a fraternity brother, and having been involved in a 3v1 fight myself against a couple of boxers. The bottom line is that if two equally matched people want to kick your ass, it's easy.

That's in fact why this video is hilarious... because the group that's fighting is horribly incompetent.

tl,dr; You're wrong, there's nothing difficult about 2+ people beating up a person that's by themselves.

[–]suckthisdeth 42 points43 points ago

[–]Tabstercom 8 points9 points ago

wow i cant believe i have not seen this film...adding it to the embarrassingly long list of stuff to watch

[–]Evanz111 6 points7 points ago

You should make sure both Ong Bak and Warrior King are on there as well. Tony Jaa is one of the best fighting actors I've ever seen, if you don't trust me, you should watch this :D

[–]PoonaniiPirate[!] 4 points5 points ago

Its SO GOOD.

[–]FrostMonstreme 1 point2 points ago

Oldboy is part of a revenge-themed trilogy - also check out Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Lady Vengeance. Also, if you like the style of Oldboy but want a sweet film for the ladies, check out I'm a Cyborg, but That's Okay. It's by the same guy, IIRC.

[–]fuzzycuffs 1 point2 points ago

Watch all three!

[–]ComoImports 1 point2 points ago

Awesome fucking movie, that scene took 3 days days to film because it is one continuous shot

[–]rawrgs 52 points53 points ago

It's actually harder than you think to double-team on someone. You start getting in each other's ways, and you catch your ally's elbows in your face, or trip over each other. Also, he's intentionally positioning himself so that they get in each other's way, and they're probably just a bunch of schmoes who don't take coordinated combat courses in their spare time.

[–]passive_fist 24 points25 points ago

good comment. but it's an even better comment when read with the other meaning of 'double-team'

[–]Shiftkgb 1 point2 points ago

Yeah and over 3 people at a time and it's almost impossible to fight the same person if they're standing up. Kicking someone on the ground is one thing but even then, you get those weak little child kicks and it's not all bad.

[–]MelsEpicWheelTime 1 point2 points ago

Nice try, losing attacker.

[–]greenRiverThriller 1 point2 points ago

Also, he's intentionally positioning himself so that they get in each other's way

I knew someone would mention this. Spot on correct, he is obviously a trained and skilled fighter. May seem obvious, but he certainly has the footwork of a boxer and knows how to lead the attackers; Shuffle back, let them come in to him, punch then quick shuffle back again.

That was a boxing clinic.

Assassin's Creed guards IRL

[–]stanfan114 8 points9 points ago

I liked when they guy in the white shirt got knocked the fuck out.

[–]mescalinejasp 5 points6 points ago

The guy in the white shirt has fight, 10 out of 10 for persistence.

[–]chis 2 points3 points ago

There's a reason people tend to come one at a time. Although it's really far fetched in movies, in reality you can't really all pile in, you'll only get in each others way, and then y'know it'll just turn out like a giant cartoon with them all on top of you and you slip out the bottom while they fight each other ! HAH! ..

[–]blahblahblahdamn 1 point2 points ago

They can't fight all at once or they may hit each other.

[–]Grendalik 184 points185 points ago

More like 1 v 3 and 17 onlookers... But who's counting...

[–]chili_cheese_dog 98 points99 points ago

The one guy in white should be disqualified for hittin the ground so many times.

I just watched that movie after hearing about it on Reddit, and I thought it was really good. If you're looking for something to do today people, watch it.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points ago

Imma instant queue that bitch right now

edit: Movie was pretty good, had some real great moments, but it was a little bit too out there for me.

[–]Clutter 8 points9 points ago

Be warned: Oldboy isn't an action movie. It's a psychological horror movie that will make your soul hurt. There are some fight scenes, though.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

I'm so jealous of you right now. I wish I could experience Oldboy for the first time like you will.

[–]Korticus 1 point2 points ago

Chan Wook Park (the writer and director) has some fantastic films, most of which are more approachable (if still fairly violent). Old Boy is definitely his work at its most extreme though. While the writing can be very obscene (at least for the average American audience), it's his direction and style that makes him one of the better modern filmmakers currently in the business.

[–]bryanvb 1 point2 points ago

If you haven't seen Ong-Bak you should check it out. I watched Ip Man last night and it was pretty awesome too.

[–]Ihadacow 1 point2 points ago

I saw Ong-Bak way back when it came out, but I hadn't heard about Ip Man. I will definitely check it out.

[–]Turk826 6 points7 points ago

I saw this on turkish news. Apperantly he cut off some guy and the driver called his friends, stopped him and tried beating him up.

[–]Ihadacow 15 points16 points ago

I always hate fight gifs like this without context. I never know if I should be pleased the person is winning or not.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Moar detail please. What's his training/background? How is he such a badass?

[–]puppypilgrim 20 points21 points ago

The guy is\was a boxer. Excellent situational awareness. He kept moving and took out the guy immediately in front of him making it hard for the multiple assailants to jump him.

It also helped that the guys attacking him weren't particularly proficient with their fighting skills. A group strategy would have been for at least one guy to go for a takedown by grabbing his legs. Once he was on the ground, he would have been more vulnerable to a group attack.

All in all a good demonstration between a trained combatant vs. un-trained.

Source: I have practiced western boxing, kickboxing and BJJ.

[–]analogorithm 10 points11 points ago

I agree completely. I've also noticed that once you start getting into a 3v1 or 4v1 coordination kills, but most people aren't coordinated, they just don't want to be hit first. Fights against multiple people should always end poorly for the solo, but because the kind of people who fight in groups are pathetic morons, they tend to form a line like this. Even better is when you drop the first guy and everyone else decides they don't want to beat your ass anymore.

[–]GorgeouslyHumbl 1 point2 points ago

I always replace Brazilian with blowjob when I see BJJ. I'm not very mature.

It's really just him against 2 or 3 maybe, which is also still badass, but since there is only one guy in a white shirt it makes it easy to see he is the main aggressor and gets knocked down like 3 or 4 times.

That guy was a boxer or something his punches were landing clean compared to the other people.

[–]tragicflaws 1 point2 points ago

Kiting. You're doing it right.

[–]srwim 1 point2 points ago

Awesome. The key to fighting a group of people is all in your positioning, which he demonstrated outstandingly.

Keep moving, position your closest attacker between you and the rest of the pack, remain on your feet at all costs. Quick and powerful strikes to disable are all you can afford here, but do not throw your weight and sacrifice balance. Also, always keep the option to bolt as a top priority.

Next time, bring friends.
