A place to share interesting photographs and pictures. Feel free to post your own, but please read the rules first (see below), and note that we are not a catch-all for general images (of screenshots, comics, etc.)

Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

Thank you for your sarcasm and ultimate inability to appreciate the feeling of being on reddit and seeing the same posts repetivley invading your frontage and preventing you from having new content because a few noobs are whining about missing out on a few unoriginal posts which will not affect their lives whatsoever. And you know what the problem is with this? Some cheap mofo will go in there and say he is unemployed just to get a free cleaning. The store will catch on that they're being taken advantage of and then they'll stop doing it.

You all know this is true because generosity is a weakness people will use against you.

My dad started a low cost clinic for the uninsured in my hometown. I talked to him about all the ways people could game the system and take advantage of him. Him response was that any system will be gamed, you just have to accept that and do as much good as you can.

I agree with you. It's why we can't do away with the welfare system. We can try to make reforms and those changes help people who need it get more help.

The people who oppose welfare? They weren't all born with a cold black heart. They just got tired of seeing the abuse. When you do something like this, you see the abuse first hand.

The good news is even though there are going to be bad people, there will still be good people like your old man. There are sick people suffering and even dying from treatable illnesses who just can't afford to have it taken care of.

It doesn't matter if people try to cheat the system. It's the fact that people are trying to help people for the sake of helping them. No monetary gain, just the satisfaction of helping another human being, which in the end, we all are. We need so much more of this in our world, not just the US. " We must be the change we wish to see in the world"

A lot of places do this. It's not remotely uncommon. In my town, you can also get financial assistance to buy clothes for interviews from a couple of different agencies.
