I believe the casualty count for the entire war, all theaters, was 62,000,000. Just think about that number. If you're American, imagine one in every five people gone. If you're from the UK, imagine that EVERY SINGLE PERSON living in the UK was dead, plus a couple million more. So, basically every single resident of the British Isles plus Iceland.

It's almost impossible to even conceive that many deaths, and that was achieved in only six years.
