I am pretty sure I read that this is a fake article.

My sister got pregnant with a dinosaure after watching Jurassic park 3D...

Sadly it would've been far more controversial and worth reading had it instead featured the claim that God did it and there were reader reviews.

Aside from this post being completely idiotic, and the article being obviously fake, not all Christians reject evolution. I am a Christian, and although I have stuck to my core beliefs of christianity, I have always accepted gay marriage, contraception, evolution and other scientific theories that explain the world. So don't act like all Christians are the same an hold the same beliefs. Most Christians don't take the bible literally anymore either; most people look at it symbolically.

oh here we go the facts-police have to ruin everything fun

caitlinnormal, what you've just posted is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent title were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this thread is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Modified from Billy Madison but it fits. Why did I have to mention that? Because we are on r/atheism and the last line will bring out the idiots in force.

Hmmm I think the thing that always gets me is when a person says they believe in something logical like evolution but can't see the logical fault in a big man in the sky that noone can see or has ever had an observable effect on the world. Yes I realise I'm dramatising.

[–]ercstlkr 0 points1 point ago

Explain what you mean by "logical fault". I am not sure I fully appreciate your stance.

Begone Eric.

To be here or to begone. That is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune. Or to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them. To die, to sleep... no more.

While I applaud this fine literature, you are a fool! Her title was rational, coherent and relevant.

[–]ercstlkr 0 points1 point ago

There is no reference to a christian in the entire thing. Nor a reference to evolution. It is complete and utter nonsense and a waste of everyone's time. Plus, people run the risk of thinking this has ANY relevance to atheism on any level and thus a small, yet significant, portion of the population of r/atheism become a little dumber by feeding into this kind of filth.

Need I point out the similarity between this story and that of Mary? Both knocked up under suspicious circumstances and lied about it, even having their friends and family go along with the lie.

[–]ercstlkr 1 point2 points ago

Let's ignore the fact that the story is complete bullshit for a second. The title is worded in a way that implies that the people involved in the article are christian, not that christians as a whole believe in the "miraculous conception". Secondly, there is no reference to evolution and not all christians deny evolution so that being put in the title is pretty much needlessly condescending. And, lastly, if you were going to make a reference to Mary, then a better way to approach it would be to say "believe you can be impregnated by non-corporeal being" so as to tie in the two concepts together... but again, nothing in the article impllies that these people can be assumed to be christian and to make that implication is wrong. Avoiding random assumptions and questioning things are what atheism is supposedly all about. Thus, this post is garbage.

I'm not able to continue this discussion from my previous stance, as I've run out of things to pointlessly bullshit about. Well reasoned Eric, well reasoned.
