do they only buy yellow foods?

[–]Phallic 132 points133 points ago

TIL that commoners don't have their chef order their fridges by colour.

[–]zmansman17 4 points5 points ago

That's quite the starchy environment

[–]SpermWhale 3 points4 points ago

Ketonians now filing a motion on the city hall to demolish this household.

[–]unbiasly -1 points0 points ago

Hey, that drawer in the middle could contain eggs! (Then again, that bag right under it contains eggs too)

[–]Spongemage 7 points8 points ago

Looks to me that whoever edited this did something wonky with the color levels so that everything appears in B & W save for the food, which for some reason (due to a shitty job with the levels) has all come through as yellow.

/editor

I could be wrong though.

[–]contra31 26 points27 points ago

I think you're right. According to my calculations that dog is actually neon fuchsia colored.

[–]MyMind_is_in_MyPenis 9 points10 points ago

I'm guessing it was reducing the palette to make the file size as small as possible so they could keep the smoothness of movement.

/some guy

I could be wrong though.

[–]Spongemage -4 points-3 points ago

You may be onto somethin' there MyMind_is_MyPenis

[–]Calibas 5 points6 points ago

Haven't you heard of the Yellow Diet? It's the latest fad!

[–]thebrucemoose 5 points6 points ago

The worrying thing is, that could actually be a thing.

[–]chocotofu3 5 points6 points ago

The Chromatic Diet was actually invented by Paul Auster in his novel Leviathan, and then his artist friend Sophie Calle tried it out for real.

[–]thebrucemoose 1 point2 points ago

I knew it would be a thing.

[–]veronicacrank 2 points3 points ago

I was going to say, that's an awful lot of yellow!

[–]armleglegarmhead 1 point2 points ago

lemons, coronas, mustard, lemons, lemons

[–]lesser_panjandrum 70 points71 points ago

Makes sense. Direwolves find it uncomfortably hot south of the Wall.

[–]iLikeToBiteMyNails 35 points36 points ago

It is known

[–]Apostolate 11 points12 points ago

Hodor?

this cat never stops

[–]poorlychosenpraise 14 points15 points ago

When I was a kid, I wanted a husky. My parents said our climate was too hot for it so I wanted to do this.

[–]TakingKarmaFromABaby 13 points14 points ago

I know, I love Huskies, but living in Texas makes that a difficult dream to fulfill.

[–]onosendaicyberspace7 18 points19 points ago

Here's my Houston husky. He's very happy, even though he looks pretty emo here.

[–]Apostolate 5 points6 points ago

Is that viable? I wanted to get a husky, and planned on running with it a lot, but people said they get too hot in warm weather.

[–]Baked_Bacon 7 points8 points ago

I have 2 Alaskan Husky in SoCal and they are fine and happy. Sometimes they even bathe in the sun.

[–]Apostolate 3 points4 points ago

That's great! I live in NYC though, so there might be some other hurdles...

[–]Baked_Bacon 2 points3 points ago

I just recommend getting some walking almost daily. Are there small parks near by?

[–]Apostolate 3 points4 points ago

Oh definitely, it's more having a big enough apartment that the dog wouldn't be miserable when at work etc.

[–]onosendaicyberspace7 0 points1 point ago

Yeah the apartment is an issue. We're fortunate enough to work from home 9 months out of the year, so we can keep him busy, but during the summer we're gone from 9-5. That's when he goes to daycare. Fucking expensive doggy daycare. But he's thrilled, so it's worth it.

[–]Apostolate 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, I've also thought about owning two dogs, in which case I feel like they may not need daycare? I really need to read up on this stuff.

[–]onosendaicyberspace7 0 points1 point ago

Their coat is an excellent insulator. As long as they aren't in direct sunlight and have plenty of water, they're fine.

[–]ajnish7 0 points1 point ago

I'd say he's at a solid [6]

[–]IllithidWithAMonocle 3 points4 points ago

I've heard that apparently Huskies do surprisingly well in the heat (something about their undercoats helping insulate them from the ridiculous heat). My wife and I have considered getting a Huskie (we live in Houston), but have hesitated because of heat worries (and because we livein an apartment).

[–]Klexicon 3 points4 points ago

My parents had one of these years ago in Houston. It was an outside dog. Seemed to do fine, but our yard was relatively shaded.

[–]40_watt_range 4 points5 points ago

It's not their undercoats, they blow this coat throughout the year in hot climates (and they will coat your house in hair) their overcoat sits high off of the skin and keeps them cool.

[–]IllithidWithAMonocle 0 points1 point ago

Cool, thanks for the info.

[–]40_watt_range 2 points3 points ago

It's a common misconception. But the dogs are happier in the hot climates than most other breeds. Huskies have a complex coat that keeps heat off of the skin. Never shave your husky.

You can read more about it, but Huskies do not require snow and ice.

I've had a husky for about 8 years, a rescue, and he loves outside so much it's hard to get him in. He's done well on the ranch in West Texas, and right now he lives in Austin.

[–]darkstar107 3 points4 points ago

I want one too, unfortunately I live in a town house. Someday...

[–]Skreech2011 0 points1 point ago

My mom and uncle bought a husky for my grandma a couple years ago. She lives in Oklahoma. Besides being fucking crazy, he is just fine.

[–]xmaster484 4 points5 points ago

Really? When I lived in Israel, I had a husky and it seemed fine with the heat, got her checked quite often, she didn't have any health issues, though she did scare the neighbor's kids :).

[–]om_nom_nom 1 point2 points ago

My husky just sleeps on the AC vents and we don't let him outside for too long, especially in the summer.

[–]acidvolt 0 points1 point ago

I've read on this subject on several places and websites and asked two Husky owners where I live because I was actually looking to get a husky (Southwest Florida here) and Huskies do well on both really hot and really cold climates. Their fur is special for insulation against both hot and cold climates and can regulate temperature really well. However they do shed a LOT. Don't let the weather ruin your childhood wish!

[–]Jackal- 14 points15 points ago

Pretty much any day I would open the freezer door when I first got my husky, she would sit in it at the bottom just like this. She still tries and she is massive

[–]om_nom_nom 8 points9 points ago

Mine initially could fit his whole body on the AC vent, now he can just get his tail over it, so he has his own personal fan now.

[–]Jackal- 14 points15 points ago

Mine forgets where the AC vents are everyday, and when she finally finds them again she gets super excited and decides that she is the only one allowed to have air conditioning after that.

[–]om_nom_nom 2 points3 points ago

That's fucking adorable.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points ago

I love how baby huskies always looks extremely pissed.

[–]gimpwiz 1 point2 points ago

Adults too.

It's the markings on the forehead that look like they have deeply furrowed eyebrows.

[–]Apostolate 1 point2 points ago

[–]Velcropop 18 points19 points ago

[–]ChaoticAgenda 26 points27 points ago

Everything in that fridge is yellow too.

Umm...except for his shirt I guess.

[–]Apostolate 6 points7 points ago

That's a bit racist.

[–]WhiteMichaelJordan 4 points5 points ago

Thanks for pointing that out.

[–]braomius 0 points1 point ago

[–]moodwrench 1 point2 points ago

Looks like the refrigerator in any given Vietnamese restaurant

[–]GnarledViking 1 point2 points ago

He must be hot. We all know it's a good idea to shave your husky.

[–]Infidel_Grey 13 points14 points ago

Don't do it OP! GnarledViking was just (hopefully) joking! You can ruin the way their fur grows back.

[–]desertjedi85 8 points9 points ago

can ruin the way their fur grows back

And the whole part about them having fur for a reason

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points ago

I don't like explaining jokes, but it's a reference to a thread from yesterday where someone shaved their dog to look like a lion.

[–]onowahoo 1 point2 points ago

I don't get why pol do this

[–]DayspringMetaphysics 0 points1 point ago

what is the dog's breed?

[–]phillychees10 0 points1 point ago

When life gives you lemons you put them in your refrigerator I guess.

[–]phil_in_rdam 0 points1 point ago

Are those lemons? So it's a .... lemonparty?

Too soon?

[–]w3sticles 0 points1 point ago

Now I'm annoyed that I'll never be able to do that.

[–]noodlekoala 0 points1 point ago

Looks like your pet is a...

...hot dog.

[–]einssein -1 points0 points ago

I always thought it was gross to see cats in people's fridges, but this is just cute. Call me a hypocrite, if you want, but it's adorable.

[–]xeothought -2 points-1 points ago

Well you know, when life gives you lemons... invite a Huskie

Edit: whoops, those are eggs.

[–]iLikeToBiteMyNails -2 points-1 points ago

[–]Biskwikman -1 points0 points ago

[–]goofball_jones 1 point2 points ago

[–]DTSourD -2 points-1 points ago

Must be a lemonade store?

[–]flickworms -3 points-2 points ago

When I was in Oahu recently, I was really dismayed after seeing several huskies being walked around. That is absolutely the worst climate for these poor dogs. WTF are people thinking?
