Shit have you tried the atheist manifesto or God is not great. Shit with hitchens I have to read it with a dictionary and an Encyclopedia.

Hitchens does use some pretty crazy terminology, but I have found God Delusion to be pretty simple, to be honest. Perhaps it's the knowledge of various sciences, I don't know, but I never really had a need to look up anything. On the other hand, Hitch was more about philosophy/politics, and threw plenty of curve-balls. And than, of course, there is a problem of me not being a native English speaker, which becomes much more apparent when it comes to nonscientific subjects, as most of the world shares the same scientific jargon.
With hitchens he assumes to much knowledge on the part of the reader. He has a penchant for talking about obscure topics as if they were common knowledge. Dawkins was harder for me though. I grew up in a fundamentalist environment so I never had much exposure to science growing up. It wasn't until college that I realized how much I had missed out on.

I grew up in a middle of the civil war, with no electricity for several years, and one of my only pastimes was reading books my family owned, and fortunately for me, there was some pretty good material in there. At the age of 10, I was a walking encyclopedia, so I didn't have that problem, although I did have some other gaps in my knowledge because of that...
