Well that was fucking stupid

[–]fugor1103 96 points97 points ago

Giving you an upvote not because it's your "cake day," but because this was fucking stupid.

[–]Charlesm313131 103 points104 points ago

I agree it was fucking stupid, mostly because 12 year olds don't know that watching a chick flick is a damn good way to get her to make sex.

[–]TheRedOut 69 points70 points ago

500 Days of Summer is a great movie and I don't need the prospect of sex to watch it. Minka Kelly for 1:30 seconds alone makes that movie great.

[–]spanskafiskare 42 points43 points ago

yes, 500 Days of Summer is great, Not really a chick flick either imo.

[–]johnbollox 15 points16 points ago

Cmon. It's a movie about a guy that was dating a girl for a couple of weeks and spent a year crying about it or some shit. Then of course it wants to portray how cyclical relationships are and ce la vie and all that, which is why you feel confused when he suddenly stops giving a fuck because he gets the scent of different tail.

I'm not saying it's strictly a chick flick, I'm not even saying it's a bad movie or that it isn't enjoyable, however, whether intentionally or not the target audience for this movie are young people in their first 1 or 2 relationships and overly emotional people. Often women. Don't shoot the messenger.

You know what yeah, it's a chick flick in the same way the notebook is a chick flick. Yes, I know we all associate chick flicks with horridly superficial shit movies with a warped sense on reality but even the good movies of the genre (Like 500daysofsummer/notebook) are still chick flicks. It's still idealistic nonsense in many ways. A dream someone wishes were true. oh ye, spoiler alert.

If you wanted an example of a movie about personal growth and relationships, while not being a chick-flick, while still maintaining a diverse set of characters, narrative, humour etc I'd say High Fidelity. The movie manages to engage you in much more than the lost love. In fact most of the time through the movie you don't even have to realise he is dealing with a breakup as he is engaged in life without acting mopy, having casual sex with jazz singers and shit etc.

Let the downvotes rain down on me.

[–]ncryptdntllgnc 5 points6 points ago

The movie has an outstanding soundtrack and very likeable actors in it. To be a chic flick it's just not cheesy enough. But maybe that's just me...

[–]felixjmorgan 5 points6 points ago

It's not a chick flick at all. It's one of the very few rom-coms told from the perspective of the man (i.e. - nothing like The Notebook).

[–]syntheticrhythm 1 point2 points ago

You will like this whole recap from agonybooth. Linking you to just the last page where near the bottom they put the movie in chronological order to show just how trite and boring the plot is without the fancy editing technique of changing the timeline.

[–]Fanta-stick 1 point2 points ago

TIL I like chick flicks.

I suppose I'll be knee deep in bitches soon

[–]Caziban 3 points4 points ago

Well... that escalated quickly.

[–]DoctorNose 3 points4 points ago

I've always assumed if it took watching a chick flick to have sex, you were in a terrible relationship.

[–]cowme 5 points6 points ago

Who said anything about a relationship?

Step 1: invite random girl over to watch 500 days of summer

Step 2: have sex

[–]Obliviousobi 5 points6 points ago

My cousin had a copy of The Notebook for this reason, 60% of the time it worked everytime.

[–]dressiertugboat 1 point2 points ago

Oh, no way! 500 Days of Summer is MY favorite movie too!

[–]ILikeFluffyThings 1 point2 points ago

Learned that late but teached that early.

[–]BolshevikMuppet 125 points126 points ago

I'm a straight male who enjoyed 500 Days of Summer. It's disquieting how often young men feel the need to set up these artificial boundaries about what behavior is acceptable for their age group or sexual orientation. My little brother (much younger than me) is in middle school and just starting to do it. I was talking about a pokemon game with him, and his response was "I'm too old for that." Bullshit, I played pokemon when I was in law school.

Fortunately, about the time someone graduates college, they usually stop being bound by those restrictions and start being willing to say "this is what I like, what's it to you?"

[–]Simba7 13 points14 points ago

It's all about that self-esteem, man. It starts mattering at like age 12, and you don't fucking have any of it at age 12!

[–]Dead_Rooster 3 points4 points ago

Reminds me of all the "What's your guilty pleasure X? Questions in AskReddit. X being either, movie, music, TV show, etc. I can never contribute because I don't have any guilty pleasures. I listen to the music I like, whenever I like and same with movies and TV shows. I'm not ashamed of shit.

[–]Paradiology 5 points6 points ago

What about the things you look at when you set your browser to "private"?

[–]Dead_Rooster 3 points4 points ago

I mainly watch porn with 2+ girls and one guy personally. What about you?

[–]Paradiology 1 point2 points ago

yes, me too, mainly. That is the key word!

[–]MajesticManson 1 point2 points ago

Wait, why would you need to set your browser to "private" to begin with?

[–]GeorgeForemanGrillz 3 points4 points ago

It's disquieting how often young men feel the need to set up these artificial boundaries about what behavior is acceptable for their age group or sexual orientation.

This happens not just to young men but to most people of any sexual orientation or age group.

[–]grchjo 1 point2 points ago

LAW SCHOOL

[–]mtiernan 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, screw these boundaries! I used to make put with guys all the time and I'm perfectly straight!

[–]patssle 0 points1 point ago

Key to life is not caring what others think. Once you can do that, it opens up a world of possibilities and things you would never consider doing before.

[–]TheMeaning0fLife 0 points1 point ago

Fortunately, about the time someone graduates college, they usually stop being bound by those restrictions and start being willing to say "this is what I like, what's it to you?"

That happened to me at the beginning of Grade 11. My first two years of highschool were shit because I was this quiet kid who took shit from everyone and I was way too self conscious. Then over the summer from in between grades 10 and 11 something hit me and I didn't give a fuck anymore. Grade 11 and 12 ended up being awesome.

[–]skinker 440 points441 points ago

Fuck that, I'm straight and I thought 500 Days of Summer was a pretty good movie.

[–]Simba7 17 points18 points ago

Yep, straight male here, thoroughly enjoyed 500 Days of Summer. Also a big fan of cuddling.

Best that can be said of OP is that he acts his age.

[–]Lurker187 1 point2 points ago

I'm around OP's age and I'd gladly take up that offer.

[–]lemurhuzzah 117 points118 points ago

same here. Zooey Deshanel is cute as hell plus I know exactly where JGL is coming from. been there done that.

[–]Aspel 9 points10 points ago

Bisexual, and I want to get in the middle of that sandwich.

[–]Gortos 5 points6 points ago

I always thought that being into both genders must be fantastic.

[–]CleverReference 2 points3 points ago

It really is. Your opportunities for sex/relationships are instantly doubled the moment you un-closet yourself. And, for me at least, it's two distinct sexualities with different preferences in each. For example, I've been acknowledging my attraction to females for less time than I've been acknowledging my attraction to males, so my attraction to girls is "still in puberty" as it were. Like, very enthusiastic and shallow. I'm less excited about dudes but more likely at this stage to enter into a serious relationship with one.

TL;DR: It's fun and interesting

[–]Vaknor 0 points1 point ago

It is fantastic, we get the best of both worlds.

[–]Aspel 0 points1 point ago

Well, I mostly like dudes who look like chicks, and most of the dude porn involves stubbly macho men, but for the most part... twice as much porn.

But double the rejection.

[–]Reservoiren 8 points9 points ago

Zooey Deschanel is pretty much why I watched it. Not my type of movie but still pretty good.

[–]liquiiiid 2 points3 points ago

I probably wouldn't have watched it if she wasn't in it.

[–]Sunnynubs 28 points29 points ago

I got my boyfriend to watch it, and he enjoyed it. And I know for a fact he isn't gay c:

[–]Larillia 30 points31 points ago

You're just his beard.

[–]MLRSguy 61 points62 points ago

1 in 10... You never know.

[–]suprsmashkng 9 points10 points ago

Can you find a source for that statistic? I thought it was closer to 1 in 50.

[–]brokenyard 4 points5 points ago

Source: Third Eye Blind - One in Ten.

Proof.

[–]whycantiholdthisbass 6 points7 points ago

That song's actually about a lesbian.

Source: I went to one of their concerts and Stephan Jenkins introduced the song as being about a woman who he was madly in love with but was a lesbian. And yes, I stopped lurking to share this.

[–]Kazhawrylak 0 points1 point ago

So the singer fell madly in love with someone only to discover his own homosexuality? What a twist!

[–]L1M3 4 points5 points ago

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_percent_of_the_world_is_gay

Not completely sure of the credibility, but it says roughly 10% of men. I can say that I have heard this statistic for years now, from all kinds of sources.

[–]suprsmashkng 5 points6 points ago

Did you even read the article that you linked to? Here's an excerpt:

The more rigorous studies have shown different results within a range of 0.6 to 5.4 percent.

And another:

The popular estimate that 10 percent of the male population and 5 to 6 percent of the female population are exclusively or predominately gay/lesbian is based on the Kinsey Institute data published in 1948. Since then Kinsley has been widely debunked, as more than 55% of the men surveyed were either prisoners, sex offenders, or male prostitutes.

[–]Gortos 1 point2 points ago

The discrepancies come from your definition of "gay"... Sleeps with men? Sometimes dreams of sleeping with men? Sleeps exclusively with men? Not everybody is a 0 or 6 on the Kinsey Scale.

[–]suprsmashkng 5 points6 points ago

"Gay" meaning self-identifies as a homosexual.

[–]Gortos 6 points7 points ago

I have a hard time believing that 10% of all men are out-of-the-closet exclusively gay.

[–]suprsmashkng 1 point2 points ago

My thoughts exactly.

[–]Belaires 1 point2 points ago

Apparently US Americans often think it is far higher than it actually is, rather than lower. Go figure

[–]DoctorNose 0 points1 point ago

I realize it is a terrible source, but I find that from personal anecdotal evidence (given the base of my school classes where I know all the classmates intimately from undergrad through to my masters), it appears to be roughly 1:20 who are open to admitting it.

[–]MLRSguy 0 points1 point ago

The post? Lol it most likely is closer to 1 in 50 but I was simply jesting good sir. Obligatory upvote.

[–]tiexano 1 point2 points ago

Actually I don't think of it as much as a chick flick. It's the kind of movie the girlfriend will find okay-ish while the boyfriend will be enthusiastic about how much better than expected it was. Because in the end the female lead turns out to be kind of a dick.

[–]edgarallenbro 6 points7 points ago

I was going to argue that I am not gay and I liked 500 Days of Summer. Then I remembered that the only time I've seen it was when I was home from college for the summer, and my sister was watching it in the living room while i was over at the table playing Starcraft on my laptop.

Then I was going to argue that a Straight Rom-Com would be a gay guy's favorite movie. Then I remembered that the whole plot of 500 Days of Summer was about how he wanted her, but she didn't want him back. I realized how this, in the mind of some homosexuals, may paint a picture of the way in which they live their lives, longing for other males who are, alas, heterosexual as opposed to homosexual.

But fuck the guy in the red. I spent most of last semester doing just that with my LBF (Lesbian Best Friend) and there wasn't even sex involved. Except it wasn't 500 Days of Summer, it was just lots of good music and some random movies and sometimes she'd convince me to watch an episode of My Little Pony which I pretended to hate but secretly enjoyed the shit out of. I did it because I enjoyed it. Why the fuck don't I get a girlfriend?

[–]VestaDear 24 points25 points ago

My boyfriend introduced me to 500 Days of Summer before we started dating. Now we reenact the shower scene weekly. :x

[–]strigen 17 points18 points ago

That must be hell for the shower curtains.

[–]VestaDear 8 points9 points ago

But it's a sexy kind of hell.

[–]brokenyard 7 points8 points ago

Sexy Hell: The best kind of Hell.

[–]pmurph03 0 points1 point ago

I hope you've got it figured out a little better then they do in the movie by now!

[–]EquanimousMind 0 points1 point ago

this feels like one of those internet lies...

[–]DaRabidMonkey 4 points5 points ago

Same. Seemed to portray real human emotions and relationship thought much better than any typical dating romantic comedy. I mean, the main character even says it isn't a love story at the start of the movie.

[–]hackiavelli 4 points5 points ago

It's rather popular with redditors. It is a movie about a clingy guy who can't get over a relationship that was never really there, after all.

[–]rabidhamster87 1 point2 points ago

I'm a chick and I hated it.

[–]redditor85 1 point2 points ago

I'm gay and have no desire to see it. Aren't stereotypes wonderful?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

My boyfriend loves this movie too! He's definitely not gay.

[–]estrtshffl 0 points1 point ago

Agreed. Love this movie.

[–]sapo916 0 points1 point ago

I've watched it twice, that's right. I'm not a fan of cock either. As a matter of fact my wiener kind of hurts today. I don't know why.

[–]Jay_Normous 0 points1 point ago

It's funny, has stunning cinematography, a unique story, interesting timeline. It's one of my favorites

[–]stash0606 180 points181 points ago

How old are you and why are you on reddit so young?

[–]AliceCode 102 points103 points ago

Who is your daddy, and what does he do?

[–]sixtyt3 11 points12 points ago

I'M A COP YOU IDIOT

[–]scartol 5 points6 points ago

STOP IT! Stop whining.

[–]sixtyt3 2 points3 points ago

I have a bunch of questions and I want them answered immediately

[–]scartol 0 points1 point ago

First I would just like to get to know you.

[–]BearBus 0 points1 point ago

I'm Detective John Kimble!

[–]herpyderp16 3 points4 points ago

Don't tell me this is the first time you see stupid facebook posts on reddit?

[–]GrizzlyBCanada 5 points6 points ago

This is what happens when some kids shouldn't have Facebook, but sign up anyway. Either that or he's a pedophile. That girl looks like she is 14 for fuck's sake.

[–]herpyderp16 2 points3 points ago

Yes, and so does charlie (OP), check out some of his posts and you'll see. My niece is also on facebook (she's 12 goddammit) and I don't like it one bit, she is too young for the internet (to prove this point I'll give you an example: she and her sister spent 400€ on a free to play game on the computer where you can buy items, you pay with your cellphone and she used her father's phone in secret because he had already put a limit on her phone so she couldn't buy things anymore.

Also 1 in 10 people sounds wrong (I'm not a native speaker so I'm not sure, I've been wrong before), shouldn't it be "1 out of 10 people"?.

[–]GrizzlyBCanada 0 points1 point ago

I'm a third generation Canadian I believe. I have no clue mate. Both are acceptable, but yours makes more sense to me.

[–]QuelFara 0 points1 point ago

1 in 10 would be short for: "1 person In a group of 10 people."

Edit: layout.

[–]DontCryWolf 87 points88 points ago

OP is kind of an idiot.

[–]dopebob 10 points11 points ago

An idiot that will not be getting laid for a long time.

[–]JayyDol 5 points6 points ago

Kind of?

[–]The_Count_Von_Count 49 points50 points ago

why are 12 year olds posting on reddit?

[–]Epiicuros 30 points31 points ago

Why are they getting to my front page.

[–]Quazz 4 points5 points ago

Because summer vacation.

[–]article134 34 points35 points ago

1686 upvotes of this bullshit? reddit.........c'mon.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points ago

The school year has ended?

[–]cobweb1989 20 points21 points ago

Has anyone even noticed how young charlie looks in his PP so i'm pretty sure his opinion counts for shit.

[–]SkepKlad 13 points14 points ago

No offense Charlie, but you're an idiot.

[–]boredatwork920 2 points3 points ago

"Has anyone even noticed how young charlie looks in his PP"

[–]TheOriginalSamBell 21 points22 points ago

Well 500 Days is a pretty good movie and when my girlfriend wants to watch the 100th Jennifer Aniston movie, WE FUCKING WATCH IT.

[–]pmurph03 6 points7 points ago

Watch horrible bosses, she's in that....

[–]KraziEyez 4 points5 points ago

That's not Jennifer Aniston we all know.

That's Jennifer Aniston 3000

[–]4pumpWonderChump 147 points148 points ago

First off fuck you for posting a screencap of facebook secondly 500 Days of Summer is a absolutely amazing movie. You don't have to be gay to appreciate the art of good film.

[–]SteamyConnor 25 points26 points ago

Wow that escalated quickly...

[–]LeMeowman 20 points21 points ago

It didn't even escalate, it was instantaneous!

[–]shadowryder 25 points26 points ago

I didn't know enjoying movies made me gay. Huh, who knew?

[–]herpyderp16 4 points5 points ago

Well, it depends of course, if you enjoy some movies you most likely are gay. And those movies are gay porn.

[–]NineTails21 6 points7 points ago

Unless it's gay porn, you aren't gay for watching a romance movie.

[–]ThatAssholeSkunk 2 points3 points ago

Nothing wrong with gay porn. I always jerk it to gay porn but I know I'm not gay because I listen to Norah Jones during and she is pretty.

[–]NineTails21 1 point2 points ago

Uh...sure, whatever floats your boat?

[–]YOUR-UNCLE 7 points8 points ago

Why did you mention video games? That seems completely irrelevant.

[–]oath_keeper 34 points35 points ago

I'm straight and I've lost count of how many times I've watch (500) Days of Summer.

[–]Johnnygunnz 11 points12 points ago

Dude... who cuddles and watches 500 days of Summer? That shit is about a woman he chases after and breaks his heart over and over. That's not a fucking cuddle movie.

[–]kravisha 15 points16 points ago

Pardon the joke, but it seems like her idea of a relationship comes from a total misreading of "500 Days of Summer".

[–]heylookitsmykel 0 points1 point ago

Because 500 Days of Summer is hip and indie, and that girl wants to be hip and indie.

[–]BathofFire 1 point2 points ago

Mother of god! We have to stop her before the transformation becomes permanent.

[–]came_here_2_say 21 points22 points ago

I thought 500 days of Summer was a great movie and I'm straight. It's very real to me, so I enjoyed it, and also Zooey Deschanel is fucking cute/hot/sexy throughout the whole movie so.. yeah.. you'd have to be gay to NOT like this movie.

[–]Whimish 4 points5 points ago

Oh so you like romance? You must be gay.

/sarcasm

[–]Carambar 32 points33 points ago

GAAAAHAHAHAHHAHHA!!!!

OH WOW THAT WAS FUNNY

[–]EggsOverEZ 5 points6 points ago

Was about to come on here and rant about heteronormativity, but I see that my work has already been done. Thank you, Reddit.

[–]Watermeloncholy 5 points6 points ago

well it seems like you're kind of a dick

[–]Aspel 5 points6 points ago

I'm bisexual.

Also, that was stupid. Why the fuck does it have so many upvotes?

[–]campy 2 points3 points ago

How old is this? I haven't seen anyone with a Blackberry in 2 years.

[–]Jared6197 0 points1 point ago

I own one. :(

[–]exbtard 3 points4 points ago

Completely stupid. You should blur their faces as well.

[–]YOUR-UNCLE 3 points4 points ago

I'm glad you made the arrows pointing to everyone's name. I would have thought that an identical girl with the same name had commented on the status.

[–]LORDJEW_VAN_CUNTFUCK 4 points5 points ago

  1. You're a fucking idiot.

  2. 500 Days of Summer is a good film.

  3. Watching a movie you don't particularly like with somebody who does want to watch it actually seems like a pretty nice thing to do. There's nothing gay about it.

[–]camieman10 6 points7 points ago

I'm VERY strait and love chick flicks. Why is is that society has placed such an emphases for "real men" to be obnoxious, crude, disrespectful, vulgar, and insensitive; last I checked, those were undesirable qualities...

[–]herpyderp16 1 point2 points ago

I like some chick flicks, mostly if the actors are good and the story isn't stupid (I liked Easy A). I believe you can watch whatever movie you like or listen to whatever music (I like taylor swift) you like and you shouldn't be embarrassed about it or called out on it.

Although I don't completely agree with what you are saying, yes there is a strong emphasis on insensitive (as in not showing emotions and being a REAL man), crude and vulgar to a certain extent but obnoxious and disrespectful I don't agree at all (yes some girls like that but I think most don't).

[–]ILIKECAPSLOCK 7 points8 points ago

I like how charlie poses in his facebook picture while talking about gays.

[–]NoxPrime 10 points11 points ago

This movie is the story of my life. Not gay

[–]HornyYogaMaster 6 points7 points ago

500 Days of Summer is a realistic movie. It's not an extremely cliché chick-flick. I'm a straight guy and I easily found that film enjoyable

[–]TheWeeking 11 points12 points ago

Why is the gay guy censored with pink?

[–]Seriouslyfacejpg 2 points3 points ago

Dude, I fucking love cuddling.

[–]TheWhaleMan 2 points3 points ago

Any excuse to stare at Zooey Deshanel I'll take it.

[–]stagfury 2 points3 points ago

Zooey Deschanel and JGL. Combined with "Roses are red, Violets are blu, Fuck you whore" What kind of sick soulless monster can NOT LIKE 500 days of summer?

[–]MySixInchTaint 1 point2 points ago

The human kind with an opinion. I hated that movie. The main character was so whiny and immature, it made me want to throw gummy bears at the screen. As an adult, I found that movie irrevocably childish. I saw it once, and that will be the maximum amount of times I see it for the rest of my life.

[–]OVERLY_CYNICAL 2 points3 points ago

You and everyone upvoting this are stupid cunts.

[–]andrew650 5 points6 points ago

And now you're his favorite person

[–]Kinnison 5 points6 points ago

I hate kids.

[–]Jared6197 0 points1 point ago

I'm sorry if the loud majority has ruined it for you.

[–]bloinggloing 2 points3 points ago

I impulsively started to defend my stance against heteronormativity, but then I realized I don't care enough to engage in a logical discussion of gender rolls right now.

[–]hino_rei 4 points5 points ago

Mmmmmmmm, delicious gender rolls.

[–]bloinggloing 2 points3 points ago

Oh. It does sound a little tasty doesn't it.

[–]nhilante 1 point2 points ago

Op made me want to reincarnate as a girl and ditch him on prom night, because he's a sad, sad excuse of a guy.

[–]iHateTetris 1 point2 points ago

I didn't even think of 500 Days of Summer as a chick flick. Is it really? If so, fuck it, it was a good movie.

[–]highscore1991 1 point2 points ago

As a straight male, I don't understand why it is always assumed guys don't like any movies that are not action, comedy, horror or porn. So many people miss out on great romance and drama movies because they won't give them a chance, mainly because thats not a "guy thing to watch"

[–]jmachee 1 point2 points ago

I'm sure Micaela's de facto middle name is "No, without an H."

Also: This post = Not funny.

[–]Xarcert 1 point2 points ago

What a stupid way to spell Derek...

[–]BouncyBridgesThe2nd 1 point2 points ago

How the fuck did this get so many upvotes?

[–]GoldLegends 1 point2 points ago

First of all, 500 Days of Summer is one of my favorite "chick-flicks" and I'm a straight male.

Second, you would rather try to have someone look bad - who is your friend (i'm assuming since she is on your Facebook) - in front of Reddit for strangers to see and get praises for catching someone being the "OMG FACEBOOK GIRL" meme?

[–]JAfball77 1 point2 points ago

What year is it?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Fuck you. 500 DOS is awesome. I would fuck the shit out of Zooey Deshanel. Fuck you.

[–]heylookitsmykel 0 points1 point ago

I think 500 Day of Summer has become a chick flick. It's a flick that chicks watch because they want to be just like Zooey. And I guess that's the reason of half the guys who watch that movie.

[–]EXAX 0 points1 point ago

Pretty sure most guys would watch a chick flick in promise of getting laid.

As a straight male I have actually been trying to see this movie. It looks good as hell.

[–]dudedorey 0 points1 point ago

I love chick flicks and i love boobies and vaginas. I was also born with a penis.

[–]TheOneBritishGuy 0 points1 point ago

I love 500 DOS. And I'm not gay. Why would that make you gay? It's a Rom Com from the guys perspective. Lots of guys like that!

[–]SnackeyG1 0 points1 point ago

That's a great movie and I'm not gay.

[–]1637 0 points1 point ago

I like to cuddle and watch 500 days of summer and im a strait guy.. is this really that uncommon?

[–]kaj519 0 points1 point ago

"If he's willing to watch a chick flick, he wants sex" FTFY

[–]sharkbait_oohaha 0 points1 point ago

I'm not gay, but Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite movies.

I'm not totally straight either, but hey, I still like girls.

[–]lmann27 0 points1 point ago

Ok, fuck you that movie is awesome.

[–]dandelion_burdoc 0 points1 point ago

Oh shit. I just saw it with my girlfriend. Like 2 days ago. Worst thing is we cuddled and I really enjoyed the movie.

[–]chinchompa121 0 points1 point ago

Isn't 500 Days Of Summer Reddit's favorite movie? Brave posting that here..

[–]Munkir 0 points1 point ago

Your new favorite person is gay?? You might be 1/10 also there Charlie. Just kidding your cool btw thanks for the post.

[–]fluffy_bunnies 0 points1 point ago

I'm a heterosexual male and enjoyed the flip out of 500 Days of summer. Even shed a few tears while watching it.

[–]MetalKeirSolid 0 points1 point ago

500 Days of Summer is one of my favourite films and I'm very much straight.

[–]Cupcake_in_Acid 0 points1 point ago

500 Days of Summer is a hilarious movie, and it's not bad at all.

[–]Slippyy 0 points1 point ago

Homosexual jokes aside, 500 days of summer is a pretty damn good movie. I think we all want at least 1 day that goes like this.

[–]Chewbacca69 0 points1 point ago

I'm a guy, who is straight and I like 500 days of summer.

[–]KoNy_BoLoGnA 0 points1 point ago

If you want to get fucking laid, you watch 500 days of summer with a chick.... 60% of the time, it works every time.

[–]Forgiven_Ostrich 0 points1 point ago

Fuck. I attempted to click the "like" of the last thing said in picture.

Fucking 5:40 AM.

[–]Masaowolf 0 points1 point ago

Ah...I love 500 days, and I'm not gay. At least I don't think that I am o.O.

[–]Strong__Belwas 0 points1 point ago

OP you're a fucking idiot

[–]JoaoMiranda 0 points1 point ago

Cause "you're my new favourite person" is totally not gay

[–]Dunkelz 0 points1 point ago

Having been raised with 3 older sisters, a single mom, and currently in by far the most serious relationship I've ever been in.......I actually enjoy some chick flicks. 500 Days of Summer was great, don't even consider it a chick flick, and What to Expect When You're Expecting was pretty damn funny.

Fellow guys it isn't so bad, you can stop being all 'EWWW STUPID GIRLY MOVIES' and enjoy it, as well as getting bonus points with your significant other for watching a movie she likes.

[–]SirSandGoblin 0 points1 point ago

500 days of summer is one chick flick that it is definitely ok for men to like, it's a great movie

[–]jt4life19 0 points1 point ago

My favorite movie is 500 days of summer.... Does that make me gay too?

[–]thealaskanmike 0 points1 point ago

Ok, honest question at risk of being torn apart by the interweb...how old are you because you look really young in that picture. It could just be me.

[–]Captain_Awesomex 0 points1 point ago

I'm gay, never saw 500 days of summer, and play a unhealthy amount of video games. lol

[–]BPlastik 0 points1 point ago

this looked like you wrote on my screen with a pen

[–]perfsurf 0 points1 point ago

Anyone else tired of people automatically disliking someone on this website because they're young? Heck I'd be stoked if I found out about Reddit when I was 13.

[–]Pike1914 0 points1 point ago

I just want a girl who will properly use the word 'and' as well as commas in her sentences.

[–]Mowinckel 0 points1 point ago

Whaat? I love that movie..

[–]freeman08 0 points1 point ago

I would have enjoyed this more if they weren't 10 years old

[–]reddell 0 points1 point ago

Aww, stereotypes are so much easier than understanding people's differences.

[–]MistarGrimm 0 points1 point ago

It's my guilty pleasure. I secretly enjoy chick flicks. Not flamboyantly gay. Not regular gay either.

[–]FulgrimTG 0 points1 point ago

From what we can see of your picture thumbnail, you look like you don't mind it in the back door yourself.

[–]ElLuchador 0 points1 point ago

i wish i could downvote this a kajillion times.

[–]toaster_waffle 0 points1 point ago

Some of these comments are right. You shouldn't have to be forced to watch a chick flick to have sex. That being said, I'm a straight guy who watches (500) Days on the regular anyways. It's a fantastic film. Sex would just be the cherry on top.

[–]lachlan334 0 points1 point ago

I just want to point out that the statistic you used is wrong. 1 in 10 people do not identify themselves as heterosexual, be that gay, lesbian, or otherwise.

Also, (500) Days of Summer is a fucking awesome movie.

[–]f3tch 0 points1 point ago

Is this movie some kind of gay porn and why are people getting pissy over what two random people say on Facebook?

[–]K1LL3RM0NG0 0 points1 point ago

i think its the fact that i got woken up at 5 am this morning but those damn arrows are makin my head hurt......

[–]CormacOney 0 points1 point ago

But... I like that movie :(

[–]creepyfan 0 points1 point ago

Fuck you, 500 Days of Summer is fucking awesome.

[–]ConorPF 0 points1 point ago

How'd the Knights of New let this past?

500 Days of Summer is a great film.

[–]m3nace 0 points1 point ago

That movie has Joseph Gordon-Levitt in it. No matter what, she would end up watching it with a gay guy whether he was gay before the movie started or not.

[–]FUCKING_EVERYTHING 0 points1 point ago

Hey everyone, the OP is the Charlie in this picture.

He's kind of a dick by the looks of things.

[–]domo-loves-yoshi 0 points1 point ago

I don't really like those types of movies, I would much rather watch action movies, or comedies, not romcoms but things like shaun of the dead or army of darkness, I like paper house and others like that.
