"How many times do I have to tell you, I have a boyfriend!"

"Well you look like the kind of girl that could use two of em"

[–]upvoteOrKittyGetsIt 213 points214 points ago

"Wanna see me comb my hair really fast?"

[–][deleted] 63 points64 points ago

Apparently Johnny went to Bollywood http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4J6WvLpWd4 (Johnny Bravo: the movie)

More people need to see this, so please upvote http://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/uuyah/johnny_bravo_the_movie/

[–]serioush 16 points17 points ago

HOLY BALLS! Its like finding a part of your childhood intact.

[–]bitterweasel 14 points15 points ago

brb gonna try and find some Johnny Bravo hentai

[–]tombone66 3 points4 points ago

Well, I decided to google image search for it, and then I lost heart about posting in it here.

Goddammit internet.

[–]deskoo 5 points6 points ago

Where the fuck did 70 minutes go?

[–]Meathead32 8 points9 points ago

I never knew about this movie. I salute you, Mr. Username

[–]BallsackTBaghard 3 points4 points ago

Kudos to you.

JB is my hero, but his advice on babes kinda sucks.

[–]cyberbemon 36 points37 points ago

As a kid I thought the whole show was innocent , now as I look through some of the episodes , I realize its not that innocent ! LOL , Some of his lines are fucking awesome ! I like this guide

[–]AeBeeEll 9 points10 points ago

Holy shit, was he picking up a hooker in that one clip? (The mistress of the night, mister of the universe one)

[–]cyberbemon 8 points9 points ago

nah shes a vampire :)

[–]what_ever_man 5 points6 points ago

Red dress, Lady of the night, "A popular girl like you". You know it.

[–]Yoyo8 20 points21 points ago

Ahh, classic Johnny. The first and only douchebag I ever admired.

[–]Like_A_Bossk_ 85 points86 points ago

I remember hearing a rumour that there was going to be a Johnny Bravo live action movie movie, with The Rock.

[–]Zhang5 45 points46 points ago

His signature hairstyle would not look right at all in live action.

[–]sarge21rvb 10 points11 points ago

That was Mitch from Modern Family. That's awesome.

[–]NiceAndTruthful 4 points5 points ago

I think mitchell and cam were both in that... Groovy.

[–]KingSmoke 3 points4 points ago

Oh man Cartoon Fridays... that was what i looked forward to all week. New episodes, new shows sometimes. Anyone remember Sheep in the Big City?

[–]Crjbsgwuehryj 3 points4 points ago

Yeah that show was janky.

[–]Zhang5 6 points7 points ago

If he's playing as Johnny? Yeah, yeah they do.

[–]ToastNYC 2 points3 points ago

they really really do

[–]mchugho 1 point2 points ago

[–]ares623 63 points64 points ago

i'd watch that..

[–]Randamba 13 points14 points ago

That movie would Rock!

[–]mchugho 1 point2 points ago

Please God no.

[–]burajin 1 point2 points ago

ಠ_ಠ

[–]shesosilly 171 points172 points ago

Oh I miss you, Johnny Bravo. Wait, make that the old Cartoon Network. Whatever happened to Cartoon Network now.

[–]Mustkunstn1k 217 points218 points ago

William Hanna and Joseph Barbera both died. That's what happened.

Although I should probably mention Adventure Time before anyone else does it.

[–]MyFootonFire 98 points99 points ago

Yup, Adventure Time is an amazing show. I've really enjoyed it.

[–]AirplaneRandy 87 points88 points ago

And Regular Show, just too good.

[–]Treerific 82 points83 points ago

YOU KNOW WHO ELSE THINKS THE REGULAR SHOW IS TOO GOOD, MY MOM!

[–]0ffGrid 30 points31 points ago

[–]rhygine 11 points12 points ago

[–]MagnaCarterGT 0 points1 point ago

YEAH? WELL, YOUR MOM THINKS- oh. Ok.

[–]Givants 19 points20 points ago

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh!

[–]FoaL 2 points3 points ago

Regular Show is okay, Adventure Time is a bit much for me. Leaps and bounds better than Flapjack for sure, though.

[–]LowCarbs 1 point2 points ago

Don't be dissin Flapjack, bro.

[–]FoaL 1 point2 points ago

I'm sorry, it was just borderline disgusting to me =/

[–]LowCarbs 0 points1 point ago

That was the point.

[–]InfiniteEntropy_ 4 points5 points ago

I've never enjoyed Regular Show. To me it seems that the developers never decided on a clear target audience, and ended up with a show full of childish jokes and adult humor mixed together. What exactly do you think is appealing about it?

[–]HungryMoblin 60 points61 points ago

To me it seems that the developers never decided on a clear target audience, and ended up with a show full of childish jokes and adult humor mixed together.

You just described almost every show I ever grew up with. Animaniacs being the most prominent.

[–]meant2live218 6 points7 points ago

Animaniacs: silly for the kids, social commentary and satire for the parents. I wish it were still around :(

[–]Sven2774 1 point2 points ago

I still remember the Histeria bit on Stalin. No way modern cartoons could get away with that.

[–]meant2live218 1 point2 points ago

I particularly remember the caricatures of a lot of politicians and world leaders.

[–]Yuforic 1 point2 points ago

[–]0ffGrid 7 points8 points ago

I really like the mixed humour. Reminds me a lot of old spongebob, the way they clash the audiences different humours.

[–]BJUmholtz 5 points6 points ago

Exactly. Just like old WB theater shorts, you can watch these shows with your kids and not be bored. Why are Muscleman's eyes red? Do they really act like that when they drink 'soda'? And 'What the H is this S? C'mon this show is valid.

[–]NinjaDinoCornShark 1 point2 points ago

If I may ask, why are his eyes red? I never understood that.

[–]DeepHorse 1 point2 points ago

High.

[–]0ffGrid 1 point2 points ago

and This masterpiece probably has mothers across the country complaining to cartoon network

[–]swimshoe 11 points12 points ago

Long answer: IMO, the shows appeal comes from the absurdity: the way they take mostly normal situations, and they end up blowing up to a much weirder level. The characters are a lot older then in most shows, giving it a much wider audience because of the kinds of things they get into. Furthermore, every main character seems pretty in depth and is given a wide range to develop new characteristics.

Short answer: Mark Fucking Hamill.

[–]NiceAndTruthful 0 points1 point ago

I've avoided watching it till now.

I'd like to say your synopsis lured me in. That your way with words swayed me into giving the show a chance, but you know what?

Mark Hamill sold it.

[–]swimshoe 1 point2 points ago

It always does.

[–]Sabremanx 2 points3 points ago

Um, you do realize that's the entire reason people like it. Look at reddit and tell me that it's not a combination of childish jokes and adult humor.

[–]pabloe168 0 points1 point ago

Target us? the manchilds who grew up in the 80s and 90s?

[–]awe300 1 point2 points ago

Indeed. On of the most fun animated shows at the moment. So honest and silly and awesome.

[–]MrFluffykins 14 points15 points ago

The best shows of the last few years (on CN, at least) are definitely Adventure Time, Chowder, and Regular Show.

[–]zanebob2 9 points10 points ago

Flapjack had it's moments. It was pretty good too.

[–]MrFluffykins 4 points5 points ago

That show was good, but it was just too darn creepy.

[–]harper357 6 points7 points ago

And that is why it was so amazing

[–]jakebluu 5 points6 points ago

Was chowder cancelled?

[–]ThatAnnoyingBastard7 5 points6 points ago

No, it had a series finale special around 2010-11.

[–]MrFluffykins 0 points1 point ago

I think so. It had a finale, though.

[–]magictoenail 27 points28 points ago

It just blew my mind that the creators of my childhood whom I previously knew as "Hanna" and "Barbera" are actually named William and Joseph

edit: whom

[–]EmergencyMedical 42 points43 points ago

When I was little, I thought it was one woman.

[–]Legolaa 41 points42 points ago

You're not alone. I believed this until 10 seconds ago.

[–]om_nom_nom 2 points3 points ago

I thought they both were for a while, and Barbera just spelled her name weird.

[–]cartoonheroes 0 points1 point ago

Don't feel bad! The only reason I knew was because I went to university for animation and had to take history tests on cartoons every week.

[–]Tfish 15 points16 points ago

What happened is you grew up, and no longer enjoy the majority of cartoons created for children, but have nostalgia attached to cartoons from your childhood.

Same reason the old cartoon network still sucked to people who grew up with cartoons from the 70's. (Except for when cartoon network was actually playing those cartoons because they didn't have enough of their own original material yet.)

[–]knirefnel 18 points19 points ago

True to a certain degree, but that doesn't explain everything. Exhibit A: the Annoying Orange tv show.

[–]TwistEnding 16 points17 points ago

They made that into a TV show?! Who in the hell is going to watch the Annoying Orange TV SHOW! The YouTube one is annoying itself and that's only like 5 minute episodes.

[–]knirefnel 7 points8 points ago

It's really perplexing because a few years back there was a Fred movie but that was straight-to-DVD and blew giant horse phallus whereas this is a show on a respectable network and to top it all off, I first came to learn of its existence from the Adventure Time feed on Facebook. I haven't had such a untainted part of me betrayed since midichlorians.

[–]asifsys23 2 points3 points ago

Fred has a TV show and more TV movies now on Nick.

[–]LowCarbs -1 points0 points ago

Considering it has over a billion views on youtube and 10 million fans on Facebook, I'd say a lot. Is there anything wrong with capitalizing on things that are popular? It's not like it's never happened before.

[–]spartaninspace 9 points10 points ago

WHY THE FUCK DOES THAT EXIST?!

[–]tazelhoff 0 points1 point ago

I don't see what all the fuss is about. Annoying Orange is apparently pretty popular, and I've enjoyed a few of the episodes when I ran across them. A lot of people don't like it, and that's fine. It doesn't mean it's an abomination.

[–]AvatarJack 0 points1 point ago

They're running a business and their main demographic is children. They make what's popular with kids.

[–]shesosilly 0 points1 point ago

Perhaps. But I miss shows like The Jetsons, Flintstones... heck I even miss Captain Planet! and Jonny Quest!

[–]qdp 7 points8 points ago

As a 90's era Cartoon Network watcher, I like the Amazing World of Gumball.

[–]thelazydeveloper[!] 2 points3 points ago

You might still be able to catch some reruns on ToonamiAftermath. It's a fairly fun place to sit and watch some stuff that'll make you nostalgic :]

[–]shesosilly 0 points1 point ago

I should watch out for that! Just so I can feel like a kid again.

[–]Orange_Jam 0 points1 point ago

The Annoying Orange has a show there now. It's over for them.

[–]LowCarbs 4 points5 points ago

Even if you don't like that, Regular Show, Adventure Time, and maybe Gumball are good shows.

[–]shesosilly 1 point2 points ago

whaaaaaaaat. That round thing?!?!

[–]AvatarJack 0 points1 point ago

That seems a bit melodramatic.

[–]xbepox 51 points52 points ago

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points ago

I miss johnny bravo so much. That man is the barney stinson of cartoons. Actually, barney stinson is Johnny Bravo in real life.

[–]mangaluver567 1 point2 points ago

i watched the show on on demand for 3 hours straight ;A; it was so beautiful

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

So Jealous.

[–]mangaluver567 0 points1 point ago

You should be.

[–]AJMorgan 0 points1 point ago

Not really, barney stinson gets laid.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

So does Johnny Bravo. They just edit that crap out for the kids.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points ago

I'm surprised to see my favorite childhood show has a million views on Youtube. I had just assumed it was forgotten and left in the past.

[–][deleted] ago

[deleted]

[–]Nab_Mctackle 3 points4 points ago

He said homer

[–]Porygoon 21 points22 points ago

Johnny Bravo was like a child-friendly Duke Nukem.

[–]segFault11235 39 points40 points ago

Little known fact: Seth MacFarlane helped work on the series.

"I love beef jerky very, very, very, very, very, very,............much."

But my favorite line from the series is: "1.2 billions dollars!!! That's almost 1.3 BILLION DOLLARS!" [faints]

[–]Rainbowlemon 10 points11 points ago

early Johnny Bravo (which Seth MacFarlane worked on)

Whoa.

[–]Mechanikore 6 points7 points ago

You forgot cribbing cutaway jokes from the Simpsons.

[–]LaughspinCom 2 points3 points ago

Woody Allen was doing that back in the Annie Hall days.

[–]Rushbomb 2 points3 points ago

That was actually very interesting to read. Thanks for the link!

[–]Sophophilic 1 point2 points ago

If the shows are referencing shows watched as kids, aren't those references for adults?

[–]JorgeGarrido 1 point2 points ago

You can be a 12 year old in 1999 laughing at a Brady Bunch reference you watched as a rerun on Nick @ Nite in 1993.

[–]keyree -2 points-1 points ago

It's gotten better since 2004, though.

[–]mchugho -1 points0 points ago

Because nobody copies or is influenced by anyone else in art, music, literature and television?

[–]JorgeGarrido 0 points1 point ago

Nobody said that.

[–]mchugho -2 points-1 points ago

Read the link.

[–]Se7en_Sinner 243 points244 points ago

[–]2yrnx1lc2zkp77kp 70 points71 points ago

i think you've had enough karma.

[–][deleted] 27 points28 points ago

His trophies are "Verified Email" and 35 instances of "Well Rounded."

[–]Devilheart 46 points47 points ago

Wow...I used to think "Well Rounded" trophies are for the girls of /r/gonewild

I was wrong once again.

[–]vierce 1 point2 points ago

THEY ARE.

[–]Razer1103 16 points17 points ago

Da fuq? I don't even have one "Well Rounded"! How do you get it?

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points ago

By being well rounded; I'm assuming it wants you to become a circle.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

"Post good links and good comments"

[–]Razer1103 0 points1 point ago

Obviously I don't post enough links.

[–]Yoyo8 0 points1 point ago

When I first saw this. I use to do same after a shower as a kid. "MOOOOOMMM!" mom runs terrified to the bathroom "What, what is it?!" me: "nevermind, it was just sexy me." looks at mirror and flexes puny arm muscles

[–]rissah -1 points0 points ago

Haha, I totally remember laughing at this when I was a kid.

[–]sylvanfletcher 12 points13 points ago

Pretty sure I saw an episode where he steered a car with his feet. I probably shouldn't have looked up to that guy so much

[–]upvoteOrKittyGetsIt 10 points11 points ago

But he's so good with the ladies

[–]resuni 1 point2 points ago

Are you sure you aren't thinking of Fairly Odd Parents?

[–]sylvanfletcher 1 point2 points ago

No but that too was a pretty great show

[–]resuni 0 points1 point ago

Guess I didn't see that episode then. Can definitely picture him doing that though.

[–]Thirsty_Bunion 23 points24 points ago

Do the monkey with me!

[–]upvoteOrKittyGetsIt 8 points9 points ago

Check my pecs!

edit: Thanks vegittoss15

[–]Nudist-On-Strike 9 points10 points ago

Man I'm pretty.

[–]vegittoss15 0 points1 point ago

FTFY

[–]johnny_van_giantdick 7 points8 points ago

I'm pretty, you're pretty whadda ya say we go home and stare at each other

[–]Hounmlayn 30 points31 points ago

I was the only person in my friend group who loved johnny. Everyone else obsessed over ed edd and eddy and dexters laboratory. I loved them all, but johnny was amazing too.

[–]hallowedsouls 13 points14 points ago

As a 90's kid, I can attest that these were all wonderful programs.

[–]juicebox_ 26 points27 points ago

patiently waiting for /r/circlejerk to get here........no?......All right I'll step up.

LOL only 90's kids will get this!!! TIL It is now 2012; DAE FEEL SO OLD!?!?!? Guise don't you remember THE NINETIESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

[–]hallowedsouls 5 points6 points ago

Dude, 1992 was totally like 20 years ago. Isn't that bizzare? I mean, who would have thought that time would pass at a constant rate and that we would be 20 years older by now, right? /s

[–]Filth_Fury 5 points6 points ago

In kindergarten I got cartoon network banned in my house after doing the Johnny Bravo talking butt scene at my very strict catholic school

[–]ItsHighpiphanyTime 3 points4 points ago

Apparently Johnny went to Bollywood http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4J6WvLpWd4

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

more people need to see this.

[–]Breathing_Balls 11 points12 points ago

Fuck. I read that as babies rather than babes.

I need to switch off my pedodar.

[–]FishBonePendant 9 points10 points ago

Why switch it off?...

It'll only be a little while before someone turns you on.

[–]upvoteOrKittyGetsIt 4 points5 points ago

Because if he leaves it on for more than 4 hours, he'll have to see a doctor.

[–]TheUninspiredArtist 5 points6 points ago

I once knew a man who was just like Johnny Bravo. He made outings interesting.

[–]OsoRojo 8 points9 points ago

I once knew a real life Johnny Bravo as well. Thing is it turns out that it isn't fun to hang out with people like that...

[–]TheUninspiredArtist 5 points6 points ago

Yeah, sometimes he wasn't that great. I'm just glad I was still underage before he went to prison and my dad was his best friend. The bloodbath would be phenomenal.

[–]jdawggey 0 points1 point ago

Well that escalated quickly.

[–]laller 3 points4 points ago

If he was real Reddit would refer to him as a douche.

[–]lspetry53 7 points8 points ago

And Pepe Le Pew would be a rapist. It's a cartoon.

[–]guynamedgriffin 1 point2 points ago

Some might find it interesting that family guy creator Seth Mcfarlane's first major animation job was on this show.

[–]OoohMamaJohnnyBravo 1 point2 points ago

Wait, who's that handsome guy?

Hello, 911 emergency? There's a handsome guy in my house

Oh, wait, cancel that. It's only me."

[–]boardshorts90 1 point2 points ago

And da butt.

[–]tanknspank 0 points1 point ago

He also enjoys tennis.

[–]justmerriwether 0 points1 point ago

He forgot to add "magnets" as well.

[–]Countryb0y22 0 points1 point ago

I miss the old cartoon network and shows like this.

[–]Eenjoi 0 points1 point ago

JOHNNY BRAVO!!! ahhh I miss this show!

[–]robhol 0 points1 point ago

Why is this show freaking impossible to find on the internet?!

[–]lactose_cow 0 points1 point ago

"What do you lke to do in your spare time?"

"Women."

[–]ctizz36 0 points1 point ago

This episode was actually on last night on Boomerang.

[–]Pelican_Fly 0 points1 point ago

And dudes, also dudes, if you don't mention dudes then you're not PC.

[–]abbykc72 0 points1 point ago

I bet he always brings the dick

[–]apple_kicks 0 points1 point ago

My glasses, where are my glasses? I can't be seen without my glasses!

[–]amartz 0 points1 point ago

I met the creator of Johnny Bravo a couple years back. Turns out my dad had known him for a while, but the guy was so humble that nobody knew he had created the very show all his friends' kids watched. Didn't really come up until someone recognized his name. Really cool guy, super down to earth.

[–]Moinseur_Garnier 0 points1 point ago

I always loved how he could get away with being such a sexist ass in a kids cartoon on the grounds it never worked, and he got beat up for it.

'Let's ride the tractor of love' is still an amazing line. As well as (upon leaping in a submarine)

'Submergy'

[–]hueymchavok 0 points1 point ago

so who has every line recorded? "hey pretty ladies" girls walk away "they've gone to spread the word." -took it like a baus

[–]moarroidsplz 0 points1 point ago

The first show that made me feel like I wasn't pretty enough to attract a guy.

[–]Redsoxfan60 0 points1 point ago

Het baby check this out...huuu haaaa huuuh! Now do the funky monkey!

[–]ditisthomas 0 points1 point ago

i never remembered him as that douchebag.

[–]shockey12 0 points1 point ago

The original Quagmire

[–]mchugho 0 points1 point ago

Johnny is my idol.

[–]Sauronkraut 0 points1 point ago

At first I thought it said, "And babies, don't forget babies."

[–]lovemeorrageme 0 points1 point ago

oh god the nostalgia

[–]PyroMan13 0 points1 point ago

I assume everyone else read that in his voice too?

[–]Twitchxiii 0 points1 point ago

Am I the only one who read this in his voice?

[–]Y2J_JERMAINE_Y2J 0 points1 point ago

Before you lose your shit over nostalgia, it is still on fucking TV deal with it.

[–]new_abcdefghijkl 0 points1 point ago

Hobbies are things you like to do.

[–]Legion299 0 points1 point ago

phew... thanks for not ruining my childhood

[–]pikacz 0 points1 point ago

name? johnny bravo. occupation? johnny bravo.

[–]Alpha_Link 1 point2 points ago

I feel proud that my last name is Bravo.

EDIT: Grammar derp

[–]johnEbravo 2 points3 points ago

Me too.

[–]willowpje 0 points1 point ago

How long ago did that show first air? I mostly remember the odd songs in this one. "There was a farmer who had a dog and water was his name-o, W-A-T-E-R and water was his name-o!" "I have a hump and you-ou do-on't!" ;)

Oh yeah and "Man I'm hot." "Thirsty?" "No I mean goodlooking." :D

[–]DJcodeword 0 points1 point ago

Don't ever let a kid that goes to day care watch this show. You have been warned.

[–]BacktotheComputer 0 points1 point ago

I miss this show. When I was in first grade, he was my guide to girls.

[–]JustAnOrange -1 points0 points ago

I miss old cartoon network :'3 The only good thing now is adventure time xD

[–]silentkill144 -1 points0 points ago

Holy shit, I just realized something.

Jonny Bravo, a narcasist who always likes to look good. Bravo, a TV network about fassion with narsasestic hosts and stars (so I've heard).

[–]wulululululuu -2 points-1 points ago

"You're heart's afire..."

[–]matt1va 1 point2 points ago

"Hmmm, that rhymes with 'tarts on a wire'"
