As a fellow teacher, I can vouch for this feeling.

Question: what do you do when school is out? Do you not work, or is there still school stuff to do?

[–]Derpatrick[S] 0 points1 point ago

Seeing as we work our butts off all year, many of us simply do nothing. We golf, vacation, visit family, clean relax and whatever else you can think of. About mid-August we go back and prep for the following year and refresh ourselves on the program of studies or any recent changes. The division I'm in also pays teachers extra to work on science boxes for different units. We stay in "work mode" most of the summer, often visiting the school and taking part in professional development. There is always school stuff to do for good teachers! I am a first year teacher so I am looking forward to this time to reflection my year and prep for year 2. Good question!

Awesome. I was always curious. Thanks for answering even though this wan't an AMA.

Maybe I should do an AMA. Think people would care about what teachers do?

I think everyone loves "behind the scenes" type of information. Go for it.
