Yes they have. This isn't the only bad show in existence. It's cancellation wouldn't solve the fact that some still enjoy shit...but it might show that overall people are just a tiny bit better when it comes to their choices in entertainment.

Have you never channel surfed and landed on something so bad that you end up watching it for a minute thinking "who the fuck enjoys this"? Simply knowing there is an audience for jersey shore is enough to affect people that don't even watch it.

Hope that explains why "don't watch it then" doesn't solve it for all.

Well, it does mean that those watching the show are mindless fools, which has an ultimate impact on their lifestyle choices and career paths, which ultimately leads to a change in the economic state of the world, which indirectly impacts all of us.

The point at which people started wanting to be irrelevant reality tv stars, and planning their careers around being one of those, rather than wanting to be someone to actively influence the planet in what one might term 'a good way', was about the same time that most modern society fell flat on it's face.
