I'm not trying to be a part of a mindless backlash reaction to a mindless over saturation of yet another ill-conceived image macro cascade, but the above post is incredibly astute. The original artist wasn't posted on reddit for over a minute before someone screen captured and stole her image to appeal strictly to that massive population that is really itching for an excuse to commiserate and completely ignore their issues with the opposite sex. Not only is she female, she's insane, this is like catnip for the frustrated average male so self absorbed with their own disappointed sense of entitlement they can't wait to provide anecdotal evidence in it's support.

Every single meme goes through the reddit beatdown phase. One person creates an image macro that's slightly humorous and then, with all the "hard" work done for them, people decend on the newfound meme like a feeding frezy. Some of the pictures of people originate on here I believe. The recent OAGF shit is just a screen capture from a YouTube video though. I truly have no clue where most of this stuff is found but I wish it would remain undiscovered for the most part.

Try twice a week. By the weekend there will already be a new "forced meme of the day", in which everyone in this subreddit will fall over themselves in a desperate bid to get on the bandwagon with any joke they can think of that might not have been made yet.

My personal conspiracy theory is that everyone just upvotes everyone else's submissions in a sort of unspoken circle-jerk because they know it's lame but they want their own submissions to get some karma so they keep it going and hope that it stays popular.

99% of the time I can't stand this subreddit and I downvote almost every submission I see. I stay subscribed because about once every 3-4 weeks there is a really clever and genuinely funny post.
