Why does this shit get six seasons and a movie? Honestly, how do these shows live so long. My understanding, though admittedly lacking, is that the Nielsen Rantings give the broadcasters the information of the rating sample they need, then the broadcasters make decisions off of that. What fucking 13 year old girl has a Nielson Ratings box hooked up to their TV? Also, how do I obtain a TV voting booth?

it's easy to not watch Jersey Shore. what's difficult is avoiding the stain it leaves on our culture as a whole. it permeates every other aspect of life now. you have people taunting the New Jersey Devils with giant cutouts of the Jersey Shore cast. I'm not watching MTV, I'm trying to watch the Stanley Cup finals, but still I am subjected to Jersey Shore. and that isn't even speaking about the endless day-to-day references through conversations with people, through people truing to emulate Jersey Shore, etc. so if it were to be cancelled, that would mean the initial steps in this trends demise and I, and other people, would not be inundated by these people.

For me personally, the more shows reality shows on the air like this that garner huge popularity and a large audience, make other companies want to copy the formula of these shows and make their own reality shows in the hopes of getting a lot of views. Personally I cannot watch these as I find them incredibly dull and artificial. "oh no this woman slept with her friends boyfriend, drama drama drama". The more of the companies budget that goes to shows like these, the less on other types of TV shows, that I find incredibly enjoyable to watch. More stuff I don't like to watch, less stuff I do want to watch. That's pretty much my reasoning for disliking reality shows like this. Sure I can just not watch them, but they have a knock on effect on the shows I do watch.

Can anyone really deny that jersey shore is entertaining? yea they are assholes sometimes, but they are harmless. On the other hand, shows like real housewives of "who gives a fuck" and toddlers and tiaras are shows that are truly disturbing.

I do not find it one bit entertaining. I find it highly offensive to human intelligence and on a lesser note, to Italian culture as well.

I unfortunately watched an episode where they were in Italy, and as they walked by the Duomo in Florence, one of the most ingenious engineering feats of human civilization, an epitome of human intelligence and accomplishment, and that fat cunt Snooki asked if it was the Vatican. For being complete fucking morons, they are rewarded with 7-figure paydays. Society should reward those that produce, and I find it highly immoral that society would reward such deplorable human beings.
