Whoa! Thank God. I thought it was going to fall on the house instead of just kill the guy.

[–]Good_Guy_Graig 3 points4 points ago

Now, I'm not saying you don't know what you are saying, but i've been on reddit for a good amount of time and I know what death looks like. This is no where near enough to kill a guy. Now say this were /r/MorbidReality i'm pretty sure somehow this guy would just explode into little chunks.

[–]Thumbz8 2 points3 points ago

Or land on that chainsaw.

[–]Good_Guy_Graig 1 point2 points ago

Or both. While being being attacked by wild bears, of course.

[–]LORDJEW_VAN_CUNTFUCK 0 points1 point ago

Whenever reddit sees somebody get injured they jump to the conclusion of death or serious permanent damage. Realistically, the dude probably walked it off.

[–]joesmo321 13 points14 points ago

Whew, I'm sure glad the house wasn't demoli-OHMAGERD

[–]detroitluv 7 points8 points ago

This reminds me of a story about my grandfather except that my grandfather did it in the most cartoonish stupid way. He cut the tree branch that his ladder was leaning against. After he fell and hurt himself, he said that he had a contegency plan against falling. After the branch was cut through, he was going to jump up and grab the next branch. The contegency plan did not work.

Link is a drawing of my grandfather. He cut the branch at the red X. http://i.imgur.com/ViziC.jpg

God bless your link.

[–]JesterAzazel 13 points14 points ago

That could have turned out worse. He will heal, the house wouldn't have.

[–]Larillia 10 points11 points ago

Thanks mom.

[–]nateqb12 5 points6 points ago

Well, the house could be rebuilt.

[–]Pixelated_Penguin 1 point2 points ago

But it's more likely to be insured than the person.

[–]JesterAzazel 0 points1 point ago

Yea, but that shit's expensive.

Falling off a ladder could go either way, you could heal for free or end up with medical bills. As long as nothing is broken, I'd rather have been knocked off the ladder than have my house fucked up by a tree.

[–]xbrand2 2 points3 points ago

Yea, or that could have caused chronic back pain problems or something like that. But I guess after you deal with that for a couple of years, you'd look back and be glad you saved a couple of grand.

[–]JesterAzazel 0 points1 point ago

Well I thought I made it pretty clear in my last post that I'm only talking about getting a few scrapes and bruises. I didn't realize I had to spell it out.

[–]Todomanna 0 points1 point ago

Question: do you play the lottery?

[–]JesterAzazel 0 points1 point ago

No.

[–]nateqb12 0 points1 point ago

All in all, this situation probably won't have too many positive outcomes.

[–]JesterAzazel 1 point2 points ago

Probably not. I'm just weighting my options. Not that they're optional in the first place, but you get what I mean. A few scrapes and bruises? No big deal. That's just about best case scenario.

[–]nateqb12 0 points1 point ago

Haha yeah I get what you're sayin'.

[–]Beaumont21 0 points1 point ago

Somebody is speaking with logic on reddit! Quick downvote!

[–]Ugbrog 1 point2 points ago

They're actually listening to you...

[–]canavans 2 points3 points ago

With American healthcare it may have been cheaper to fix the house.

[–]JesterAzazel 0 points1 point ago

If a trip to the ER was in order, yes. I was just saying that I would've taken a few scrapes and bruises over a fucked up house. Broken bones, concussions, and other serious medical conditions are a different story.

[–]ignitr 1 point2 points ago

Skin grows back

[–]ogtfo 0 points1 point ago

He will heal

Because he's lucky he didn't fell on the chainsaw.

[–]JesterAzazel 0 points1 point ago

Yea, that would've been a bitch. The chainsaw nearly caught the guy holding the ladder, though.

[–]Thumbz8 0 points1 point ago

Or, you know, the chainsaw in his hand.

[–]JesterAzazel 0 points1 point ago

That nearly clipped the guy holding the ladder. That would've sucked.

[–]thehindteet 2 points3 points ago

I wonder if its James the Narcoleptic Tree Cutter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7oCDcTxFUkk

[–]ZappaZoo 5 points6 points ago

Exact same thing happened to a guy I hired. I couldn't believe he just stood there on top of the ladder when the tree started going over. The trunk bucked back, catching the top of the ladder and the saw flipped in the air with the chain coming right across the top of his shoulder. Of course the chain wasn't moving. He did get a sprained ankle and it served him right, the idiot.

[–]ShepProudfoot 4 points5 points ago

My dad went through something similar, except that it was a smaller branch that bucked up and hit the ladder. He went down face first and landed on another branch. A helicopter ride and three screws in his face later he was as good as new! Strangely, though, it made him physically unable to eat chili. It was the last thing he ate prior to the accident, and 20 years later chili still makes him ill.

[–]Tuna-kid 0 points1 point ago

If your dad was a trading card, this would be his flavour text.

[–]mutagenesis 1 point2 points ago

In that location, it shouldn't even be a problem. They should have cut the trunk down piece by piece instead of cutting off that much at once.

[–]ZappaZoo 2 points3 points ago

If he had done a proper wedge cut at a good angle on the front in the direction of desired fall, the bottom would have slipped off the trunk as started going down. But he did a straight cut, leaving the last bit on the front which held the bottom in place until the top was about to hit the ground, causing it to buck back toward them.

[–]mutagenesis 0 points1 point ago

Even with that, you should at least tie the trunk to pull in the direction you want it to fall, but next to buildings, you really want to cut the tree up into smaller pieces.

[–]phillipjfried 0 points1 point ago

You can see a rope being pulled on the right side.

[–]loneswish 17 points18 points ago

I bet this experience will help him branch out into other careers.

[–]rAxxt 5 points6 points ago

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you might be right.

[–]Phrozen761 0 points1 point ago

Wood he really have gotten a better job in this economy?

[–]cdc710 2 points3 points ago

He'd have to log serious hours in the interview room...

[–]stagboss -2 points-1 points ago

OK, leaf it alone.

[–]SporkinatorMan 2 points3 points ago

I'm having trouble coming up with a response to this. I'm completely stumped.

[–]mikesanerd 6 points7 points ago

Maybe a response will hit you ladder.

I have the feeling a few people failed to see this was another pun. They just woodn't give it a chance.

[–]Beaumont21 -1 points0 points ago

Agreed. That's where the roots of this thread started.

[–]WarJunkie -3 points-2 points ago

I used to make good tree puns like you, but then I took a herring to the tree.

[–]Nickster93 -4 points-3 points ago

Blah blah blah you're barking up the wrong tree.

[–]stitches335 -2 points-1 points ago

Oh, yew.

[–]LloydBentsen -3 points-2 points ago

bark bark bark

[–]Brattain 2 points3 points ago

Did he roll over on the saw?

[–]ntothes 0 points1 point ago

No, it's lands next to the other guys feet.

[–]xkleenexk 1 point2 points ago

good god. i was expecting that chainsaw to fly off and go right through someones arm. what a dumbass that guy was being

[–]TheRedditSurvivalist 1 point2 points ago

My neighbor died like that, landed on his head.

[–]Pixelated_Penguin 1 point2 points ago

That reminds me a lot of those physics Flash games...

[–]advocatus221 1 point2 points ago

[–]TweedAvenger 0 points1 point ago

That's a real knee-slapper.

[–]Boxador 0 points1 point ago

I really don't think the guy had time for one "shit", let alone 3. I also can't think of any friggin tree jokes.

[–]CTDiesel 0 points1 point ago

It doesn't look like he cut a notch in it. That's a good way to have that kind of accident.

[–]putridcuntdestroyer 0 points1 point ago

That'll earn you a trip to the er.

[–]srs_house 0 points1 point ago

Well, at least the chainsaw didn't land on top of him.

[–]Beaumont21 0 points1 point ago

Instant revenge

[–]AuDBallBag 0 points1 point ago

It looks like the spotter on the ground stepped out of the way at the right time. Look at where he stands at the start of the video, and where the chainsaw lands.

[–]IrvingI80 0 points1 point ago

Insta-karma. You don't mess with trees bitches!

[–]LastRedCoat 0 points1 point ago

Looks more like: "Fine, fine, fine, OH FUCK! I'M FLYING!"

[–]elisha299 0 points1 point ago

Good I thought my Internet was about to go out

[–]2hundred20 0 points1 point ago

REVENGE!!!

[–]taz3781 0 points1 point ago

Am I the only one to notice that he caught a prior cut portion of the tree right in the crotch when he landed? Talk about bad luck...

[–]jjbabajan 0 points1 point ago

Falling ten feet off a ladder holding a chainsaw has to be the scariest 2 seconds ever.

[–]looda 0 points1 point ago

I can watch this ALL day

[–]kamali16 0 points1 point ago

I think it was more of "SHHIIIITTT."

[–]thatlookslikemydog 0 points1 point ago

Whoever was holding the guide cable on that tree should have pulled harder.

[–]JacobMHS 0 points1 point ago

I like to imagine the guy yelling "NOOOOO!" in a really high pitched cartoon voice.

[–]justsomeguy75 0 points1 point ago

The graphics suck but hot damn those are some awesome physics. Did you see that ragdoll? And the way the tree fell? Amazing.

[–]toughluck1 0 points1 point ago

Low blow

[–]MattBonn 0 points1 point ago

"It looks good. Yeah! It's good, Bob. It is falling nicely in between the houses exactly as pla- OH FUCK, DAMNIT!"

[–]TurduckenII 0 points1 point ago

When you clear the timber from the stump, you better watch you 'cause boy she'll jump!

[–]doubleyouteef 0 points1 point ago

so. funneh. i. nearly-shat-myself.

[–]eatpussyallday 0 points1 point ago

Love how the guy who was holding the ladder just backs the fuck off

[–]jcoder5 0 points1 point ago

Turned out way better than I expected

[–]Tufftlc 0 points1 point ago

His shit just hit the fan

[–]lixtonpickles 0 points1 point ago

Dog getting kicked in the head by a horse? "Omg! I hate horses! Someone should kill it." Man almost/possibly dying to a falling tree? "Hahaha, Silly guy."

[–]GeorgeForemanGrillz 0 points1 point ago

Did he died?

[–]g8or8de 1 point2 points ago

Yes, he dead.

[–]brosenfeld 0 points1 point ago

At least the house is okay.

[–]showmepotatosalad 0 points1 point ago

I'm sure he'll take that over a tree in the living room any day

[–]Kar98_Byf42 0 points1 point ago

Saw that coming...

[–]OmniaII -1 points0 points ago

That's why so many tree-toppers get killed

[–]SharkUW 8 points9 points ago

That tree isn't even remotely being cut correctly.

[–]therealatri 2 points3 points ago

no wedge.

[–]maddprof -1 points0 points ago

Seriously. That half of the tree should had been cut down in 2-3 smaller sections.

[–]SorceryIsForNoobs -4 points-3 points ago

OMG!111!!!!!1111!!!!!!!!i!!! .............. IS THE LADDER OK?!

[–]Phrozen761 1 point2 points ago

No, it's not.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points ago

I told those kids to leave the Radley house alone.

[–]CatchALight -2 points-1 points ago

This is usually the result of the ol' 'chainsaw + ladder' equation.
