They right-click save the picture to desktop, re-upload it to imgur to give it a different URL, and post it.

It is one thing to "stumble upon it" and try and post it, that's fine, you've never seen it before. It's another to blatantly play the system for pretend points. It bugs a lot of us.

Why would anyone do this, ever? Karma means nothing, I highly doubt this is the case with most re-posts. I just find it weird that some people go apeshit and assume any repost is intended for getting fake internet points. I don't know, I kinda see people getting angry about reposts to be absolutely no different than if someone where to get pissed off about a re-run on tv.

I can't speak for everyone, but I personally don't care about reposts. Sometimes, things have been out of the loop for a while, and every now and then new people who didn't see it before get to go "aww". Whatever.

What I hate is people who post replies to posts, and add "fixed" or whatever to the end, I hate that shit. Before you know it you have 500 posts in /r/gaming with "no THIS is the real batman", when I didn't care about it in the first place. Sometimes I do care. Regardless, that shit belongs in the comments.

Edit: Yes, karma means nothing.

Also, I hate people who lie. "Take a look at my cat!" when it is a repost originally by someone else and is CLEARLY not your cat. I don't care about the repost, I care that you LIED on the INTERNET.
