It's not like anyone who posts anything is trying to take credit for it, we're all just sharing interesting things we found. If it's OC, then OP usually makes that clear, and people can call him out if he stole some shit. Every other time, you assume OP didn't make it.

As for being too chill to care about reposts, check your reddiquette. It's an unspoken rule that you don't downvote reposts just for being reposts. A lot of people have made the analogy of television, and how there are always reruns, and you don't have to bitch about it just because you've seen it before. The more time you spend on reddit, the more reposts you see. That's just how it goes.

Holy shit, ents. We are supposed to be known as a creative community. I'd be hard pressed to believe that coincidently, every single week someone else gets a random idea to use this GIF about "smoking around their parents". On that subject, its time to grow the hell up and stop smoking in your parents home against their wishes. Take your lazy ass down the block. When you're older and have a place of your own, do whatever the hell you want. Until then, respect the home your parents work hard for.

Get some imagination. And for those of you who constantly upvote this stuff? Have some taste. Because this is /r/trees, it doesnt mean we should lose all sense of taste and reason. dude, i totally get what you're saying. however i think setting up a standard for trees as an incredibly creative community isn't an ENTirely great thing. i think creativity will always make its way into r/trees, so we shouldn't tie down our posts to the ideal of something insightful or creative. the openness of the community is what makes it so appealing. oh, and just because OP smokes in his/her parents house doesn't automatically make them lazy.

On the subject of smoking in your parents home against their wishes:

There is simply no justifying it. No matter where you live, there is always a better smoke spot nearby. A parked car, a hilltop, woods, a roof of a building, anything. To smoke in the place your parents work hard for against thier wishes is a huge "fuck you". It is a lazy action. To go through the paranoia, kill your high, piss off your parents...for what? You can go to countless places and be at peace, and leave the ones who care about you in peace as well. This is part of the growing up process.

No animosity toward young ents. We all started somewhere. What you do and how you do it determines your maturity; not your age.

I see it as disrespectful because they don't want you doing it, but you don't care and you do it anyway. Another point is that if the neighbors catch a whiff of that they could easily call the police, putting your parents in danger of getting in trouble with the law. Yeah, a cop might be cool about it, but taking that chance when your parents already don't want you doing it is a slap in the face IMO. When I lived at home my dad never wanted me smoking pot. Not because he thought it was bad for me, but because it's illegal and he didn't want illegal shit going on at his house.

I agree with this for the most part. I was lucky enough to grow up with my parents having the mentality of:

1) Don't do it here

2) Do not get into trouble

3) Be smart about it

Once in a while in the late evening hours, I would go out behind the shed and enjoy a puff or 2, but even then, I was semi-paranoid for whatever reason. Neighbors, animals, goddamn helicopters with infra-red. I started smoking at 16, right before I had a car. it was much easier to hop in the car, drive somewhere, and toke out. My favorite spot was the beach, where you can see Crown-Victoria lights coming from a mile out, plenty of time to bury a join in the sand.

Chewing the leaf really isn't that bad. There's multiple types of cocaine. freebase/Crack, crappy cocaine sulphate, cocaine hydrochloride (the white powder). The plant isn't really bad for you. It's when you start condensing it down and making it volatile that it gets bad.

The point is that the plant is illegal and by carrying it inside your parent's house, you expose them to tons of legal risk that could very well destroy their lives due to things that may be added to their criminal record or things that are seized from them in the legal process.

They also probably work very hard to ensure a good future for you and that good future usually becomes harder to attain if you get caught with pot by the police.

Living in Washington I'm not sure I see the tons of legal risk. Been caught with pot by the police, it was meh. I still make ched, moved out, and educated my parents enough to where now that we are voting to legalize in washington in November, my 50 year old dad said if it passed he would buy an oz with me and smoke for the first time in his life.. lol

I only just started smoking again after my parents caught me like 3 months ago, I had bongs, pipes, lighters, papers all that kinda shit in my room. but now I keep it simple. I have a bag of trees I keep in my subwoofer, a lighter stashed somewhere hidden, and a bunch of sewing needles in my top drawer, and when I want to smoke I just make a simple can pipe and smoke in the shower
