You may be surprised. I always thought i hated "football dogs", or little dogs, and when our border collie had to be put down due to having 2 strokes (he was 17, but he was a puppy when i was born) my dad bought me a little poodle-shihtzu mix. I objected at first, but that dog has shown me an immense amount of love. Mainly, he wants cuddles and pets all day long if he's not zipping down the hallway chasing toys or sleeping on the porch. BUT -- I knew a friend who had a husky. They loved him, but he was not the affectionate type -- more like the hyper-lets-run-everywhere-and-poop-on-everything type. Kat, my cat, had her nasty moments as all cats do (and her senile moments, she was 20 when i finally had to put her down, and the last year was touch-and-go with meds and potty accidents), but they are cuddlebugs for sure. My favorite thing about Kat was that you could hear her purring just when she sat down next to you, she'd be happy, and when you'd nuzzle she'd go CRAZY with purrs. Tail wagging is great, too, but i think nothing beats a purr!!!
