I don't know why atheists assume that just because I disagree with them I believe in Christ, It's not a logical assumption. I disagree with you, organized religion is dwindling in some respects but is here to stay for a while more. Yes, the world is changing and with it organized religion is slowly passing. People will always have faith though, and even in a world void of most religion as we know it, people will likely still have ceremony, prayer, and tradition in the future. It's fine if you disagree with what they do, but no one should scoff at someone exercising their right to pray. Atheists take "in god we trust" off of the money, which I agree with, but let us not forget on that same coin we were a nation founded on the freedom to petition the government, protest, and yes, pray to whomever we want... or for that matter not pray. In a world where the pope is gone and no one's sending money in to televangelists, we will still struggle with the notion of a deity, were we created, is there anything after death. This is the crux of my message to atheists, that it is very simple to disprove the man made stories and ignorance of religion. Beyond that however, nothing, not even science can answer these questions every human considers. We are all afraid of the unknown in some way, and that is because we are uncertain. People I know who have almost died understand this, and they are less likely to align themselves in a fight where both sides operate with a misguided superiority. It's time for fundamentalists and atheists to admit we are all fearful, and we would all like to just know, but we don't and probably never will. The world would be a better place, not if everyone thought alike in their acceptance or rejection of god, but if they could accept differences without taking meaningless and counterproductive stances. That has always been the message from Jesus, to Chomsky, to Tyson, to Sagan.
