    This gif honestly made me cringe. The poor guy looks like he would be in extreme pain. Its very likely that he deserves it however, as you can tell, even from the few short frames we see here, that he is obviously a dirty criminal.                   Responding seriously though, if he had landed that first step, he probably would have made it up onto the hood, and then up onto the roof of the car. Not sure what he thought he would gain from that; trying to stay on the roof would obviously not have worked out, though I suppose he might have been able to wait for the cop to try and climb up before jumping off in the opposite direction and maybe getting a second or two of distance. Alternately, I suppose he could have continued running and jumped off the roof of the car, but that wouldn't really have benefit him at all, since the climb would only slow him down, and landing a jump like that at a sprint is difficult under ideal conditions.

                    If by gory, bloody messes, sure.

                    BUT head injuries are still head injuries. For all you know, this guy could have died from that head trauma. Others have.

                                      Only if they have dogs. If they have dogs you are pretty much screwed anyway, so do whatever you like at that point.

                                      In the far more likely case, you start out in a small group. Split off from the group as soon as you are out of sight and find a temporary hiding place. Stay off private property if you can, the owners will point you out or call the cops if they see you. Once you have found a hiding spot, wait there until you are sure you are not being immediately pursued, say two to three minutes. Catch your breath and if possible, change your appearance(ditch your jacket or over-shirt, wet your hair down, etc). Now make your way out of the area using a route that is not likely to be observed. Drainage tunnels, the woods, alleyways are all good bets.

                                      If the officer is in the immediate vicinity looking for you, DO NOT MOVE A MUSCLE OR LOOK AT HIS FACE. The human eye spots movement much easier than picking a human shape out of shadows. Eye-to-eye contact will give up your goose as well, so keep them averted. Even if he is looking right at you, do not move until he goes to actually pull you out. He will more than likely not see you unless you move, even in plain sight.

                                      Have a destination in mind, where you will be safe and head in that direction. Do not run or otherwise draw attention to yourself. Do not look guilty or frightened. If approached by police, do not start running again unless it is the original officer or another that would recognize your face. Ask if they are looking for someone running as they approach, and point them in a direction you are not headed. Stay calm and cool-headed.

                                      EDIT: Just wanted to add, running from the cops is foolish, dangerous and bound to get you hurt at some point or another. This advice is meant for entertainment purposes only. Not breaking the law is a much easier way to keep from getting arrested.

                                              I'm a little confused at this. Was the car super waxed or something? Last time I checked, cars still had friction and you can jump on them. Unless that car was a frictionless physics problem, it looks more like the criminal was just awkward and uncoordinated.
