Then you have a bad teacher.

[–]pingvinus 3 points4 points ago

Or too lazy to open a textbook or even watch a youtube video, there are tons of well-made explanations on most of the topics out there.

[–]Mordithi 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, my teacher made it look kind of complicated...then my lab partner and I just put all the units in terms of cheese burgers and french fries. We suddenly caught on after that.

My friend and I*

[–]TheFightKing 6 points7 points ago

You only use "and I" if you would say just "I" if you weren't including your friend. "I trying to understand physics class" would be incorrect so you would still use me with your friend.

[–]muscle_n_flo 0 points1 point ago

Oh, so close (in a non asshole/sarcastic way). You got the rule right but the example wrong. The sentence started out as a fragment with the implied 'were' which turns into 'was' in singular form... "I was trying to understand physics class" is a correct sentence. So "My friend and I" is what you would want.

I'm trying to work out whether I know your name because we have talked on reddit before, or because it is a Menomena song.

[–]muscle_n_flo 1 point2 points ago

Only one other person has pointed it out and we talked about how it's sort of a crappy screen name (puts on black, thick rimmed glasses) if you've never heard of Menomena.

I do feel pretty elite right now, knowing them and everything.

Verification...

Just discovered this myself recently.

Now kiss.

You are not alone -_-

Get good and figuring out base units. Like force = mass x acc. Mass is already a bass unit and acceleration is distance per time squared. So start looking at it like force = (mass x length)/time2

Breaking everything down like that will make your life soooooo much easier. Especially if you have to take 3 terms!

Note: Algebraic physics will always suck. Calculus is essentially the language of physics. They actually make sense when you put them together... No joke

Are you in special education perhaps?

[–]muddi900 0 points1 point ago

Wait till you get to Einstein.

[–]GigaStormRider 0 points1 point ago

I just had to present a physics project today. I built a pneumatic cannon that will fire a tennis ball the length of a football field.

[–]ProfessorCaptain 0 points1 point ago

It's all about the force diagrams. It's ok if you don't actually draw them, but you must be able to at least visualize them.

"My friend and me"

[–]hessproject 0 points1 point ago

Physics is hard? You might want to drop out.

[–]studmuffffffin 1 point2 points ago

Physics is pretty hard for most people. I don't find it that tough, but I can understand the difficulties.

[–]hessproject 0 points1 point ago

Physics is generally very logical and simple once you understand the main concepts that get taught during the first week or two. High school physics in particular is essentially just plugging numbers in to formulas. If you can't do that, I fear for your success as a job seeker in an increasingly competitive work force.

[–]studmuffffffin 1 point2 points ago

Did you read the second sentence?

[–]hessproject 0 points1 point ago

The end of that was supposed to sound more general. I guess an inappropriate use of "you". Not you in particular but you plural.

[–]studmuffffffin 1 point2 points ago

Oh, alright then.

When I was in high school, physics was definitely more than just plugging in numbers. There were some complex things in there.

[–]isdevilis 0 points1 point ago

fuck no, the guy is obviously one of the bad physics teachers in disguise.

[–]Cuzimwhite -1 points0 points ago

What if I told you the last thing you needed to worry about is physics. When you need to be worrying about your grammar.
